The Steeler v Ravens 2004 game you almost have to mention Ben didn’t start this game. It was game 2 or 3 of his rookie season. He wasn’t supposed to play but Tommy Maddox got hurt in the 3rd quarter. Once they actually started to craft the offense around Bens inexperience they didn’t lose again until the AFC Championship.

Worked out for the Saints the same season at 13-0 playing Dallas on a Saturday night football game in the Superdome and boy did the Saints needed a wakeup call thanks to DeMarcus Ware and Tony Romo and keep in mind New Orleans didn't clinch home field top speed yet til Minnesota Lost their 4th game so New Orleans was trying to finish strong and more than likely going for the unblemished season but didn't. So winning the SB XLIV championship game was the goal and accomplished.

This is one reason why I really can't understand how the NE Pats in 1985 managed to go to Miami and beat a much better team. Had the Dolphins gone who knows what would have happened, Marino was on fire, ntm they obviously had the Bears number. That loss the Bears took to Miami wasn't just a loss, it was an all out beating. Instead the Pats somehow got lucky, went to the Super Bowl to face the Bears and got blown out in probably the most one sided and biggest deficit in SB history aside from maybe one or two SBs. But, I can guarantee that it's one of the biggest beat downs in SB game history. Now had the Dolphins gone to the SB against the Bears, we may have seen Dan Marino get that one SB ring that he obviously deserved as he was definitely one of the best QBs to play the game. He's still in the top QBs statistically in NFL history.

Pretty much the exact same thing happened with the 15-1 Vikings. Falcons beat them in the NFC championship really just by the luck of a missed field goal. One thing I will say tho, as a former kicker in college.. it's always laughable to hear people go "ah even *I* could make that"
Was always hilarious having soccer players come over, claim they could do what we did, and then hook an extra point 20 yards to the left, 5 feet off the ground.
Yeah, sure bud. Ray Wersching kicked for 15 years in the NFL. He had a 72% FG% while at SF for 11 years, which seems paltry by today's standards unless you know how far kicking has come. Morten Andersen, unanimously considered one of the best kickers ever and the best kicker of the 80s, had a career % of 79%. Point being, Wersching was a good kicker. Everybody makes mistakes, it's just nearly no one else is as visible as a field goal kicker. I promise a lineman missed 3 or 4 blocks that game. A linebacker blew coverage or missed a gap to cover. But you don't have people out here going "well I could do that!" to Brian Urlacher.

Their one loss came against the Patriots, where it was their worst defeat since 1963. However, in the playoffs when the two met, Oakland got payback for that blowout loss thanks to the infamous Ray "Sugar Bear" Hamilton penalty.
