    For those wondering where Cory is and why Joe isn't wearing sunglasses, check the date on this. The Colbert team (I think Batiste in particular) got hip to Vulf early on, the boys were still playing small clubs as a four-piece at this point. They couldn't afford to bring Antwaun, Cory, and Joey on tour with them until mid/late 2016, and I don't think Joe started rocking the shades until 2017. It's incredible to see how far they've come.

      No shit. Agreed, in a major fucking way. And, that's coming from a bassist who actually started out on tuba in the 6th grade, with bass guitar not far behind all up in the tuba's ass, then surpassing the tuba a few months later during Christmas break. I realized pretty young that the tuba wasn't gonna get me some trim from the ladies. I'll admit, it was Gene Simmons, who made me wanna play, but, once I discovered funk music, I've seriously immersed myself balls deep in the funk since I was maybe 12 years old, and it continues to this very day. And, I still haven't discovered anything that comes even remotely close in any frequency, like a low frequency instrument.

      @CalHarding01 Рік тому +1

      Well put. In addition to what you’ve eloquently mentioned, I’ll also add that Dart is very musically tasteful as an improviser, as is the whole band - even when they’re all playing at the same time, it still sounds almost minimalist in terms of how metronomic (in a good sense) the groove is. That, and every single one of them is, straight up, in the pocket from the first note to the last. No wonder the audience was left heaving.
