I got tickets for Khruangbin at Red Rock in September! Was pissed that I missed Vulf/Khru and I vowed during pandemic lockdown not to miss the chance again.
music isn't just about raw skill, if that were true then the only "good" or "impressive" music would be the stuff made by all those piano or violin prodigies. There are probably hundreds of thousands of musicians that could technically outplay the likes of the Beatles or these guys, but the passion and love put into their songs makes them special. yes Davie504 is a very impressive bassist, but I can't remember the last time I listened to him and got chills or felt moved by the way he played, I just remembered feeling that he was very skilled, more than I ever will be. sure Joe Dart isn't by definition the most skilled bassist out there but the groove and funk he puts into the music is unparalleled imo. they aren't playing for the sake of being "impressive", they're playing because they love music and what they do and enjoy going out onto stage with eachother
The snowsuit is definitely +5 funk...
Interestingly, and contrary to the usual, here the snowsuit is used to protect the outside from the overwhelming coolness of the wearer.
@@NeonGhostHobo OMG NOOO I'M DYING

It was ok, the band came in a bit faster than he was going
It was like I was watching John Paul Jones direct Jimmy back into the riff
@@KamilKisiel They were switching up the tempo the whole time but when the came back into the final groove they were spot on
This could be the funkiest thing I’ve ever tasted !
listen to "my first car' thats song is funky af
Pulled out the ol funkometer, told me to funk off! Told it to smoke a funk! Replied, funk you!
Respect for keeping the camera so still, definitely necessary for such an amazing solo.
The video stabilization did a lot of work, you can see the internal reflection of the spotlight bouncing around a lot.
i want to eventually learn how to play like this beast of a man.
I like it when Joe drops the pubumpa purururi bupu ta tarururi pupu tarururu papa 2:01

It's scientifically proven that you can't listen to Joe without coming down with a case of "Joe Dart Neck".

Hard to be impressed when you know Davie504 can outplay any of these guys.
Cringe take. Nate Navarro and Charles Berthoud could also outplay Davie504 yet I still find myself impressed by what Davie puts out sometimes
