My cat had these "alligator" rolls and walking backwards. He had middle ear disease and needed ear surgery to remove polyps and infection in his middle ears. I think your cat may have had ear or vestibular problems. (maybe that's why the ear drops worked for a while) Just in case this helps anyone out there.
How is your cat doing since the surgery? My cat does the same as this cat in the video. And the "alligator" rolls are exactly what I was trying to explain to the vet.
@@Blackdesertwind My cat is doing great. He is back to normal. He had his surgery two years ago. His surgery was called VBO (Ventral Bulla Osteotomy): www.michigananimalhospital.com/page/490551592. Vestibular problems can be a symptom of inner ear problems or a side effect (usually temporary) after an ear surgery to solve inner ear problems. In my cat's case, he had his vestibular alligator rolls after his surgery. His symptoms of middle ear infection had been constant "ear junk" that would fly out of his ears when he shook his head and after years of trying to solve this problem (having been told it was due to allergies) he became lethargic, shaking and unwell and I took him to the hospital and scheduled to meet with a cat ENT/dermatology professional. They suspected it was middle ear problems and did a CAT scan, while being prepared to immediately do the VBO surgery if the CAT scan revealed infection. My cat's middle ears were filled with pus balls and potential polyp material. They cleaned it all out in the VBO surgery and he is well now. Hopefully, this is helpful. Also, look into Care Credit, since the surgery can be expensive. But it really helps to have a feline expert surgeon to talk to. Please let me know if you have any other questions.
@@floppykitty3711 My two cats have this constant "ear junk" that would flies out of their ears when they shake their heads. My previous vet said it was just dirt. Only affects on ear for each. I better get the other one to the vet too. Thank you for replying. Very helpful. I'm still waiting on the veterinary clinic to call.
@@Blackdesertwind I found some old photos of what his "ear junk" looked like and quickly made a video for your reference: ua-cam.com/video/nS1xSoA6n20/v-deo.html I also uploaded a video of his vestibular episode that he had after his VBO surgery too: ua-cam.com/video/JnoZAHSP_U8/v-deo.html
Hi floppy.....my cat is showing the same symptom for the last 5 months as it is in the video.....sometime pus and other filthy smell are coming out of from the left ear....pls advise....
I just had 17 year old female tabby put to rest because she was experiencing the same symptoms. She declined very quickly within a matter of 2 days. Her left front and back paw were basically paralyzed. I'm so sorry for your loss. 💔
My cat just died due to complications from her stroke a few hours ago. It all happened so fast... In less than 12 hours we had to put her down. I'm so sorry you've gone through this, it's absolutely devastating to watch a loved one get sick and die. I hope you've found some peace since then.
Had to put my best friend a 14 year old male down this mourning same symptoms but he also had foaming at the mouth each time. A couple weeks back he had the forst episode foaming unable to walk no strenth meowing loudly confused but he recovered within a couple hours a week later happened again he recovered again. Four days ago another episode but he never recovered he had a couple more over the next couple days stopped eating was disoranianited confused couldn't go use kittly litter. Today we had him put down. Im devastated he was loyal as they come. He was family and i will cherish all the time we had together until we meet again. It wont be the same without him sleeping alone not having him with me. At his age and his symptoms i believe he had undiagnosed other issues he lost weight rapidly over last 2 months dispite eating oftin and he had no waorms. I could not afford to spend thousands on scans, blood work surgery etc.. and chances are he not make it and just prolong his suffering. He had a great life he was treated like a king. If you are dealing with this im so sorry. Make a decision that works best for your cat and you. God bless
It had to be very hard to video this at the time. Such feeling of hopelessness and helplessness. The confusion the kitty experienced and the your puzzlement over what was happening to your beautiful cat. But your kitty did feel your love regardless and you provided a gentle exit in the warmness of Florida from this life of love that you provided.
My heart goes out to you. I lost my John to a sroke last night. He was eating earlier and then I woke up and he couldn't walk. He passed 2 hours later . He was 16. I am heartbroken over how fast it happened.
My cat is 18+ years old and had a stroke. I recognized it right away because you see recently I myself has had Mult. strokes and she was behaving the same way as myself. As we are both old I feel we are doing fine with our limitations.
Awww, poor baby!! I am so sorry for losses. Our animals are family! And it hurts when we see them sick or suffering and are not able to help. It's very obvious from this video how much you loved your kitties.
Thank you for posting this. I know it was hard. We found our cat with the same symptoms this morning. I had suspected a stroke or seizure. At least we can somewhat be prepared for what happens next.
Thank you for posting this and I'm sorry you had to watch this happening to your cat. My little buddy just exhibited some stroke symptoms so this video is helpful in determining if that's actually what happened.
I know this is old but thank you for sharing it.. my cat was just laying next to me on the bed and basically did the same thing this cat does in the beginning of the video. She’s 14 so I was pretty sure that it was a stroke or a seizure. At first, I thought maybe she was caught on something, but there’s nothing on the bed for her to be caught on. But I appreciate being able to find this.. helps get an idea of what’s happening.
5 am just today... my cat was gone in my closet... yesterday I somehow found her behind our camper under the abandoned swing, lying there trying to move her head but she looked...blank...a few days before she was fine, but seemed a bit ditzy, she would sometimes stand in place looking blankly and not respond to me, anyways... i watched this to get some closure on what might have happened when she was out of my sight outside... i dont know what stage of grief im in...it's all so fresh.
I am most sincerely sorry for your huge loss and for the fact you had to re-live these excruciatingly painful moments through this video. One day we’ll all reunite Forever on Rainbow Bridge. RIP 💔🙏🏻❤️
Thank you for posting this. I know it was a difficult time for you. We're pretty sure our Smokey had a stroke also. He was found on the floor struggling. He couldn't move his right side. We took him to the emergency vet and after some tests we found out he was basically a healthy cat. To definitively determine if it was a stroke, he recommended going to a neurologist and having an MRI done. A MRI was $4G so we passed on that test. We took him home and decided to love on him and see how much he recovered. At first, he would drag himself out of his hiding spot only using his left leg. But he has progressed. He has gained some movement back to his right side. He stands up on his own and can slowly walk. Though he uses his front leg more as a peg leg than a normal leg. He'll use furniture and walls if he can to steady himself. We know he's in there. He still hates the dogs. And he's very food motivated. He comes out to complain if food is late. He's always been a cuddler. If anything, he craves more attention since his stroke.
My cat bandit had a bad infection a few months ago and almost died he got so bad outta nowhere like before I even realizes just how bad it was I never knew cats usually take turns for the worst very quickly when sick til the vet told me however he's always shown some weird symptoms that make me think he's got a neurological disorder such as just falling sometimes and then there's times I feel like he's having vision issues however after his illness he hasn't had any issue bit then today his back leg was out weird and his tail curled weird I at first thought maybe my large dog stepped on him and checked but no pain response then he fell over and seemed disoriented it lasted like less than a min and now he's acting fine again idk what a stroke looks like in a cat which brought me here but now I'm panicking the vet cost last time was insane I actually caved and posted to my fb bcuz he was on deaths door and i didnt know what else to do, and didnt expect to even have 50 donated but ended up getting enough donated to have him seen and treated thankfully but now that this happened my anxiety just went to am extreme high cuz we just dropped about 400 on our kids school clothes yesterday and I can't afford to even get him in the door at the emergency vet right now let alone run a test I just hope nothing shows signs of worsening and I hope your smokey is still doing well, bandit too got more cuddly and lovey after his near death experience it's like he understood I saved him and wants to show his love back at least that's what I tell myself lol
@@KT06 Smokey is doing better. He’ll never be 100% physically. We accept that. And more importantly, I believe he has accepted that. He still can only use his right front leg to support himself. And he doesn’t have full motion in his right rear leg. I estimate he only has about 50% use. But he can now leap on furniture again. He can jump about four feet vertically now. And he can scamper quite quickly if he wants. I’m proud of him that he has fought to come back as much as he has. It’s unfortunate that veterinary care is so expensive. We spent $800 on Smokey’s visit to only be told they didn’t have a firm idea what was wrong. And while further tests could give us a firm idea what happened, if it was a stroke, there wasn’t much that could be done. That’s why we didn’t do any more for him. We have kids in school also. And there is only so much to go around. My hope for you is that Bandit can get better on his own. And I do think Bandit realises all you’ve done for him. Smokey is the first cat I’ve ever spent time with. I used to think cats were aloof. But I see that isn’t the case now. Though I do think cats see us as staff and that they are the main character.
My 18 year old lady had a stroke a few days ago. She was unable to walk properly and couldn't put much pressure on her left side. after 7 total hours at the vet emergency room the neurologist determined it was a stroke. Her vitals were normal, she was eating, drinking, grooming, and able to use the litter box. She is able to walk with some effort and is super happy to be home, indicated by the purr she uses when I hold her. Our time is short now, but I'm happy it wasn't more serious and that she is on the road to recovery. The hardest part of having an older cat who has had a stroke is accommodating their new special needs. Currently she spend her nights in a room where she won't be able to jump up and off of things which could potentially hurt her further. The other concern is the much younger cat in the house who still likes to chase her. But I think he knows something is wrong since he's chasing her less and trying to be more patient. Amazing animals.
Wednesday night, my cat was using the litter box when she started walking very wobbly and could barely walk on her hind legs we took her to the vet who was hoping it was only because of a ear infection but the next morning she couldn't walk on any of her legs or eat her favorite food we took her back to the vet and they said she probably had a brain tumor that had finally taken over her causing her to have a stroke. We could've had an MRI done or other extreme treatments but we didn't want the poor thing to suffer anymore so we did the humane option and we put her down, she was such a sweetheart she looked right into my eyes when they brought her in to say goodbye and I got to tell her I loved her for the last time. It still doesn't feel real everything I do just reminds me of her and I can't stop crying it just hurts the pain won't go away, I miss her so much, I just keep wishing it was just a bad dream and i'll wake up with her cuddled up on my chest but I know that won't happen.
My cat had these same symptoms. But he also couldn’t use his back legs at all he dragged them behind him. The vet told me it was sattle thrumbus and there was nothing we could do. He was put down because of it. I’m absolutely heartbroken :(
Wow, that makes a lot of sense. I wonder if this was the case with our cat but the vet didn't know, or my mom simply couldn't retain the term in her head. But stroke and sattle thrumbus seem to be synonymous. Thanks for sharing this medical term.
Same here, my vet told me my only option was to put my kitty down because he couldn’t use his back legs and was in pain. Had to say goodbye to him Tuesday. It gives me comfort knowing I’m not alone.
@@catmagic2226 If you are still reading, can you give me some guidance about using single dose homeopathic remedies for my cat? She is nearly 18 years old. She has pretty severe arthritis in her joints, especially her shoulder joints. I believe she also may be starting to experience some early signs of heart failure. She has a history of asthma as well, but other than that, has been a pretty healthy cat most of her life. Just a few minutes ago, I was watching her as she approached the kitchen heading to her food station, and she was veering to the right. Kind of stumbling. She veered gently into the door jamb as she entered the kitchen (her food is just on the right after entering the room). Can you give some suggestions, or some links to info?
My cat had a stroke yesterday. He is still a bit unsteady but seems to be recovering quickly. He didn't lose his appetite. I thought he had died after it as he became unresponsive and semi conscious. Also got an odd upward head tilt. It happened very suddenly. I didn't understand what had happened. Thought he had knocked his head as he can get very lively though he's 10 years old. He has been very needy calling for me,wanting to cuddle. Now is véry tired from the experience....thanks for this vid.
Thank you for posting this. Our cat has exhibited these same symptoms a couple of times now. We've been told it's most likely a stroke and are on the road to treatment. Cats are family too.
I'm glad to share this with those in need of a diagnosis. Not having answers can eat away at ones mind. Or cause incorrect reactions to any given situation.
Thank you for posting this video , we have a cat with the exact same symptoms and our vet just told us today that she has had a stroke , when it first happen our vet treated her for a inner ear infection, but that wasn’t the case , she is still alive at the moment , but sorry for the loss of your cat , it is very hard losing them
I cannot thank you enough for posting this video. I had my 27 year old cat put to sleep yesterday after an episode very similar to this. Once it was over we rushed her to the vet but she couldn't stand up. The vet said this was most likely permanent so we made the agonising decision to say goodbye. Then all day today I started torturing myself thinking it hadn't been a stroke and the vet had been wrong but your video reassured me that it was and has given me peace of mind. Sorry for the loss of your precious kitty. They mean the whole world to us and losing them is so hard. Xx
Thank you sooooo much for sharing this video. My cat has had the same symptoms as yours and I couldn't explain it properly to the vet. So I sent him the video hoping he can pinpoint the problem better.
Thank you for sharing! We’ve just taken our 15 year old lady to the vet after she started shaking, walking strangely, tilting, circling, tremors in her eyes and head. Apparently stroke symptoms. Let’s see how she recovers.
I am currently going through this with our 14 year old cat. She has been at the emergency vet for a couple days and is still having trouble trying to walk. All the way to the vets she did the alligator rolls and was screaming, hissing and panting. They don't seem to be able to figure it out. I'm thinking either stroke or seizures
My dad had a cat that had a stroke and he lived for 7 years following his stroke. Being that he had his stroke during the night I had no clue how long ago he had it. My dad knew the vet would want to put him to sleep so he called me. My dad had a stroke a few months before the cat's stroke so he was sympathetic to the cat. I gave the cat a half a baby aspirin. I worked out a schedule of a quarter of a baby aspirin every other day. If you would miss one day his head would start to tilt. It took 1 1/2 months till the cat could walk again. The cat would lay on the floor in his bathroom to keep him safe and make it easy to clean up his soiled newspapers. My dad would rotate his body so he would not get sores and was bathed frequently. I made a strap to support his body to help him get back to walking. My dad loved this cat and felt a special kinship with him.
Tips on breaking seizures; put a collar with a bell on your pet. When the seizure starts gently sit on the animals back with your knees gently pressed up against the animals sides. Firmly holds the animals head stable by the scruff behind the ears. When the animal convulses, firmly wold the animal securely in the upright position.holding the scruff on the back of the neck gently with your other hand, hold the animals head foreword. Use your voice in a gentle but commanding way. Tell your pet to stop, repeat their name and the command “stop”! Ride your pet through the duration. It will be like a rodeo of sorts and you will feel drained. Almost like you shared the seizure with your pet. The energy will partly go into you. But you have to hold on and be steadfast and don’t let them go. The seizure will be more mild and the duration will be shorter. Keeping them centered and keeping their head forward and down is the key. If the animal bites or scratches, wear gloves, long sleeves and pants.
Thank you for posting this although it was painful to watch. Sorry you had to go through this. Hugs! My cat Snookums' back legs have weakened and the vet says he is losing a lot of muscle mass due to 17 years of age I don't know.
this is how my cat Smudge died i has him since i was 1 and a half he is dead now he died on the 9th of april 2017 and 5pm the next 3 weeks of my life were filled with tears i couldnt get up or eat i couldnt breath without him it hurts so bad i had him for 8 years R.I.P smudgey

Our cat is an outside cat and some girl came to our house with her telling us she is hurt her head is swaying to one side and her eye is twitching at first we thought it was poisoning but she wasn’t foaming at the mouth and was just out of it so now she’s sleeping on the couch with her loved ones we hope she’s going to be ok
My tabby cat fell off the desk from a printer. She fell, (I was in the bathroom at that time) I rushed into the living room and saw her down by the sofa on her side she got up, walked backward into the hallway and two of her legs were sort of messed up. We found out she had a heart murmur and today she was walking in circles non stop. That happened last time she had a stoke so in the morning, I hope I don't have to see her in pain. (It could've just been that she knew it was Christmas and was happy. She cuddled woth my brothers large charizard plush. We were all so excited but also worried.
Currently going through a similar situation with our cat. She was just stumbling and acting strange at first so we got her in her carrier to go the the vet and once in the car she started to do the alligator rolls and was screaming, hissing and panting. She just kept repeating the process. She is still in the hospital and we have asked them to try seizure meds. We aren't sure what is wrong 😭. I know this was hard for you and I truly appreciate the video ❤️
My cat Moses made it to 21 and 4 months, slow but still could climb up short heights, then disaster struck he had a stroke and massive seizure for a minute which left him blind and deaf as he could feel the vibration of my footsteps but he wasnt sure where i was and cowered so ne didnt get stepped on. I put him in a box which made him feel at ease as he could feel 4 sides comfort him to his surroundings. He laid for a bit and rested and then was struck with another seizure and that was my cue to take him in and they said he had reached his end and could live in misery for an unknown amount of time but i chose to let him go on and earn his wings after a lifetime of hunting and keeping us safe...
Thank you for this. My youngest daughter was doing the rolls like that after shed flop on her side while shed yell. All her tests were fine, but the ER gave her antibiotics. The fits have stopped. For a day though she kept having them. Maybe she was having mini strokes.
My cat just passed away. Its middle of the night and she had a stroke same like this. We contacted every pet hospital but they were closed. Then she vomitted before leaving. We tried clr didnt work. I hope my little Grace is under the god's presence. I will promise to take care of her two kittens. Rest in peace
Had the same expirience a month ago. He had restrictive cardiomyopathy and had therapy for 3 months. One sunday he was having strokes and he died in an hour in my arms in taxy. I have enormous void in my heart but I'm not sorry for a second we had each other in 9 years. I hope he will welcome me some day in a place where he is now.
Thank you for posting this. my cat sadly had to be put down last monday, the vet told us that she may have suffered a stroke at some point. I didn't know what a cat having a stroked looked and sounded like, I deeply regret not knowing this. Of course this wasn't the only problem with her as she 15 and also had heart, kidney and spine problems. If i could've dealt with the her stroke maybe she could've been in less pain over the last few weeks. I'm still getting over her death, she meant a lot to me and my family
@@CorsairJames maybe not stop a stroke but, I wish I could've identified it and then we could've had her treated. We had to go to the vets sparingly as every time she travelled in her cage she would panic which was not ideal for a cat of her age. I just keep thinking "could I have done more?" Was there anymore I can do to keep my cat alive without her suffering. I mean the vet said we could've done a blood test to find out more but we went with euthanasia. Maybe I'm just kidding myself. I'm still grieving, and all these feelings are new to me. I haven't had to deal with the loss of a pet cat since I was 4. 14 years snowy (my cat) was with my family and it's going to be hard to re-adjust without her. I'm sorry i rambled on, thank you for replying
It’s always a good idea to go to an internal medicine specialist who specializes in diagnosis and if necessary, get a second or third opinion. My cat stopped eating and drinking. The local General practice vets gave her antibiotics. One vet did an X-ray and said he saw food in her stomach so gave more antibiotics and sent her home. I knew she hadn’t eaten anything, so took her to the best Emergency Hospital where she was seen by a specialist who did an endoscopy and found a large hairball in her stomach not food like the other vet suggested. The specialist got the hairball out and she had to have feeding tubes inserted in her neck to feed and give liquid as well as medications to promote motility. The final diagnosis was IBD which she still has today. IBD is Inflammatory Bowel Disease. So sorry for your kitty’s suffering and yours!
My Sebastian (13 years) had what I believe to be a stroke on my front porch last night my grandparents woke up to find him laying on our kitchen floor. He is now in a box in our laundry room still breathing, though I’m not sure he’ll make it through another night.
I’m so sorry but I couldn’t watch. I just lost my 2 month shy of 18 year old furbaby Bella and this was right off to emotional for me. Thank you though. Another time it may be so helpful! 🐈⬛🐾🐈⬛🌈
My 1 year old cat had a severe stoke. She does the spinning thing but very violently. She can't walk, has very little muscle control at all. She is getting a little better, been a month since the incident. We believe the stroke was brought on by a reaction to a flea & tick collar. I am interested in what the drops were that the vet put in her ear
My mother who dealt with the vet believes it was for cancer and to relieve pain. She's guessing it was Cortezone but isn't sure. That she either had brain cancer or something else internal.
Bob Labla something similar also happened to my 6 month old (at the time) cat. Except there was no spinning action with him. Only no muscle control and wasn't able to walk. Was also not very receptive to us and almost in a daze, lethargic afterwards. Has not happened since for us. Has it for you?
my cat is better but still in bad shape. she acts like she has suffered a severe stroke. partially paralyzed on one side, no vision in one eye and has very poor depth perception. head is twisted to one side and very shaky when trying to eat. She has adjusted well, seems to get better a bit every day with the odd bad day. it has been 4 months now
the spinning is because she is trying to run or correct her balance and she had no muscle control, so her body would just twist. She is doing much better but has some sort of permanent brain damage where her equilibrium is off, she has some partial blindness and fine motor control difficulty. She is a tough kitty, and is coming back. She can now eat on her own (but makes a terrible mess), gets around the house, is trying to use the litter box (needs more practice) and OMG plays with any and every toy she sees.
My kitten is too weak ,lethargic and lost her appetite. She is kinda like a paralysed person . She cannot move her legs . The vet said that she has Pulmonary infection that could last for 2-3 weeks . I really need your help and suggestion . She is under medication : high fever around 39.8C and loss of mouvement and appetite.
my cat just did something like this last night. we took him to the vet. today he seems completely "normal"... tho i can tell he's in some pain and is very quiet.
my cat is doing this .. the sad thing is the other cats attacked her .. right now we have her resting in a separate room ..she still has no control over her back legs and has some incontinence .. not eating ..the stroke happened yesterday evening .. she does not seem to be in pain .I think we will wait and see if she recovers at all.
My cat Noel was fine yesterday and seemed fine this morning. Mid morning I attempted to give her some food and pet her and she was unable to get up fell face first end over end. Heartbroken I think if she’s not any better by tomorrow it’s time to put her down. The vet said something about a neurologist but I won’t put her through all that. Too painful to see her this way. Vet gave her strong pain meds which I hope at least make her comfortable. I probably won’t sleep at all tonight.
Very distressed. I agree this could be a middle ear issue rather than stroke-it makes you go around in circles, walk crooked, fall down, and get really dizzy.
So does a brain lesion. My cat is currently exhibiting this "vestibular syndrome" after having symptoms of a nasal cancer for several months; most likely it's reached his brain.
Poor baby, is there anything the vet recommend doing? I am just searching because our cat is really old , I HAD HER 17 YEARS and is on bp meds and aspirin and she was just dx as blind. She is declawed so I am thankful I do not have to worry about being scratched. I am searching this just incase it happens to our cat to be prepared.
Idk what my cat died from but ik he had a hairball stuck in his throat and i remember he died right infront of me and his mouth turned blue anyone know what happened i think it was a stroke
I found an outdoor tnr cat lay still with some poops next to him. I took him inside after checking if he was injured. Once inside it sit up wobbly up and lower it head. It can walk straight forward bit it keep walking backward like a lobster. It meow and growling constantly. It won’t eat or drink anything I offer. Well all of the description match your cat description except for the eating and drinking. Oh one more thing, it either blind or suffer brain damage because it does not react to vision test. It jump over obstacles I rule out blindness. Yep it definitely suffered a stroke before I found it. Any advice what to do next?
I just had my cat this past weekend just drop on the floor and then few minutes later she had blood coming out of her mouth was this a seizure or what or a stroke I don't know please if somebody has any information or think they know can you please tell me
I wondered if your cat had a tumour rather than a stroke. Sometimes it's difficult to tell between the two, but your cat pushing herself backwards was a clue. I lost one of my cats 7 years ago to a brain tumour. It started when we noticed he could only turn in a clockwise direction, or walk in a straight line. Other than that, he was fine. He would go out and come back without any problems. Shortly after, by this time we'd decided to keep him as an indoor cat as he was very close to our 23 year old cat, would groom her (she couldn't do it herself) and snuggle up with her. She passed away through old age and Snowy was bereft without her. One night, Snowy was sitting on the windowsill. We heard a thud and our dog found a cat on him. Snowy looked confused but came on our bed, curled up with us and went to sleep. We just thought he'd fallen asleep on the windowsill, turned over in his sleep and fallen off. Then about a week later he had a very bad seizure. We managed to rush him to the vet while he was having the seizure and she quickly diagnosed a brain tumour. He had stygmatis (rapid movement of the eyes). She told us the tumour was likely on the brain stem. She explained that the tumour would be surrounded by a fluid sac and every so often that sac would burst, cause a seizure but relieve the pressure on the brain from the tumour for a while so the cat would recover for a week or two then it would happen again, every time worse than the last time. With our vet's advice we took the heartbreaking decision to PTS there and then. I didn't want my beautiful cat to suffer. He was pure white with one green eye and one blue. I will always miss him. One of the giveaways of a stroke (I've got a 19 year old who had a stroke this year but has fully recovered) is, apart from not being able to walk, or become very unsteady, their eyes become dilated. My 19 year old was like this but over the course of a few days her eyes and balance came back to normal. You would not know she'd had a stroke now. Please don't let this put you off getting another cat (or two). There are so many unloved, unwanted cats out there desperate for a home to call their own. When one of my cats passes away, I get another cat or kitten, usually from a bad situation. Most of my cats are rescues and when one passes I look on it as a legacy to adopt another rescue in honour of the cat that passed. It is a legacy I will honour as long as I am able to. It is heartbreaking to lose them as they are family and they can never be replaced but watching a cat or kitten flourish when they've been in a bad situation helps to ease the pain - and they bring their own love and uniqueness with them :)
Your right Pythonaria. I'm just unemployed at the moment and renting. I told myself if and when I ever own some property, I would find me some fuzzy kitties to share it with.
OMG poor Thing, my cat was exactly the same, the vet told me it was an epileptic fit, she was better for About 6 month or so, after taking Medicine for it , but after she threw up a few times she didnt have enough medicin Levels in her, and it had to be built up again, in the end she was having fits every half hour, for About a day without getting better, so i took her to be euthanized, she was a Norwegian Forest cat as well and looked like yours, actually ...my vet asked me to film her fits with my Handy as well, just thought I Mention it.. i didnt though, i was slightly touching her and Talking to her trying to calm her down, admire u for having the guts to film it though...
My cat just under went a dental procedure, and 10 hours after ( with 2 hours to go for the anaesthesia to wear off) he wasn't making much movement progress. Then he did a few alligator rolls and calmed down. I'm not sure how much to attribute to anesthesia or a stroke but.... Right now it appears he is blind and doesn't want to move much..... I'm wondering if he hadn't been under anesthesia, if he would be moving around and acting like this. Thank you for posting.
My kitten died he was about two months he fell of the bed and he couldn't stand and he was running in place while laying down and then he just stopped breathing and I still don't know what he died from
Mines doing this similar but just with the dilated eyes, tip of tongue out, drooling a small amount but off tongue flicking, no sores on tongue i can see or in mouth shes 20 yr old tuxedo
if we kept thinking about it then the effect will become real. The first step is to reduce thinking about it, this removes the placebo phenomenon. Second step is to try tweaking the router settings to reduce Wifi signal strength or keep it as is. Third step is to investigate the Wifi actual signal strength compared to a Microwave, cell-phone signals and TV signals to gauge if it is worth the effort to live with weak Wifi signal considering there's already other signals existing around.
@@Blackdesertwind I found some old photos of what his "ear junk" looked like and quickly made a video for your reference: ua-cam.com/video/nS1xSoA6n20/v-deo.html
I also uploaded a video of his vestibular episode that he had after his VBO surgery too: ua-cam.com/video/JnoZAHSP_U8/v-deo.html
Dumb numb nuts
I am so sorry for your losses. Thank you so much for sharing. You have no doubt helped people and their cats by sharing this difficult footage.
Thanks.

I am truly sorry. The first few days are the heaviest.
My cat just did this next to me. I thought she was caught on something at first.. she’s 14 💔
Thank you for posting this and I'm sorry you had to watch this happening to your cat. My little buddy just exhibited some stroke symptoms so this video is helpful in determining if that's actually what happened.
Glad this was useful. I know how this event can cause extreme distress. Sorry to hear about your buddy. May it not be as severe.
But I appreciate being able to find this.. helps get an idea of what’s happening.
my cat just passed away today out of nowhere. he is 8 years old and everyone in the family is devastated. this cat was no regular house cat.
Sorry to hear. Cats are family.
My baby seems to be having something like grand maul seizures.
This video made me cry. I am so very sorry for your loss.
I am most sincerely sorry for your huge loss and for the fact you had to re-live these excruciatingly painful moments through this video.
One day we’ll all reunite Forever on Rainbow Bridge.

Though I do think cats see us as staff and that they are the main character.
i know it had to be really hard for you to post this again, but do know it's been greatly helpful for a lot of people, including me. Thank you.
This comment was helpful. My cat was using his right side more too.
So heartbreaking. My wife and I watched just to make sure we weren't seeing what we feared. Thank you for this.
I'm sorry to hear.

Poor sweet baby.
Thank you for sharing. It is such a helpless feeling, I have two and this has been helpful and appreciated. Bless you.
I've been told that when a pet goes, it is usually pretty fast. You rarely get more than a year after something serious.
What are the treatments that you are doing? I believe that my cat had a stroke too, but somehow my vet misdiagnosed it.
Thank you for posting this video , we have a cat with the exact same symptoms and our vet just told us today that she has had a stroke , when it first happen our vet treated her for a inner ear infection, but that wasn’t the case , she is still alive at the moment , but sorry for the loss of your cat , it is very hard losing them
Sorry to hear and thanks for the input.
Xx
my 19 year old cat just experienced this within the last day.
So, how is your cat now?
Hope your cat got the help it needed 🙏.
This is EXACTLY what happened to my cat when she had a stroke. Alligator rolls were more frequent though.
Thanks and sorry to hear about your cat. Just spend as much time with Snookums as you can. He/She would do the same for you.

He laid for a bit and rested and then was struck with another seizure and that was my cue to take him in and they said he had reached his end and could live in misery for an unknown amount of time but i chose to let him go on and earn his wings after a lifetime of hunting and keeping us safe...

my cat sadly had to be put down last monday, the vet told us that she may have suffered a stroke at some point.
I'm not sure if there's much one can do to stop a stroke.
I haven't had to deal with the loss of a pet cat since I was 4. 14 years snowy (my cat) was with my family and it's going to be hard to re-adjust without her. omg this looks and acts exactly like my cat. Some days are worse than others for him. Sadly our vet can't do anything
I'm not sure they really did anything for our cat either. She just slowly withered away.
R.i.p my grandmas cat Lou-Lou, too young and sudden 😭😭💔💔
My Sebastian (13 years) had what I believe to be a stroke on my front porch last night my grandparents woke up to find him laying on our kitchen floor. He is now in a box in our laundry room still breathing, though I’m not sure he’ll make it through another night.
I noticed the cat is not blinking its eyes.. That is #1 symptom of stroke
Is that the case with people as well? My guess is yes, but find that that may be useful to know in the future.
Wanda Burgess that can also be a seizure...
My cat passed away from a stroke. It was sad seeing the few days of her life left.
Bob Labla Are you sure it wasn't just FVS? That can look similar to a stroke.
My cat's front right leg will not move he cannot walk on it you cannot hold himself up to move at all thank you this was helpful
my cat just did something like this last night. we took him to the vet. today he seems completely "normal"... tho i can tell he's in some pain and is very quiet.
How old is he?
my cat is doing this .. the sad thing is the other cats attacked her .. right now we have her resting in a separate room ..she still has no control over her back legs and has some incontinence .. not eating ..the stroke happened yesterday evening .. she does not seem to be in pain .I think we will wait and see if she recovers at all.
I hope things turn for the better.
I have been doing some research for my own cat and have been able to remain pretty stoic, but this broke my entire damn heart.
Yeah. Every time I'm get a new message, I visit this page and sadness pursues.
Could have been a seizure. My cat who suffered from epilepsy looked like this during seizures and also urinated himself.
You could be right, but this was a one time thing that she never fully came back from. She was so healthy until this incident.
CorsairJames sorry to hear 💜
I am so sorry. This is so difficult to watch. Poor baby. 😢
Hope she getting better soon good sign might be eating better 🙏🏼 for you
and I wish her to get well soon 😢😢💔💔❤️
Does a heat stroke look similar??
Can anyone explain why they keep rolling over?
Very distressed. I agree this could be a middle ear issue rather than stroke-it makes you go around in circles, walk crooked, fall down, and get really dizzy.
So does a brain lesion. My cat is currently exhibiting this "vestibular syndrome" after having symptoms of a nasal cancer for several months; most likely it's reached his brain.
Poor cat 🐱 😰😰😥😥😭😭 I am so sorry about your cat
Thanks. It has been a some time since the incident. But watching the video does bring back some sadness.
He could have choked also
I found an outdoor tnr cat lay still with some poops next to him.
Sorry your loss my father and son cat died ,because they had stomatitis
I just had my cat this past weekend just drop on the floor and then few minutes later she had blood coming out of her mouth was this a seizure or what or a stroke I don't know please if somebody has any information or think they know can you please tell me
Could have been seizing biting down would cause the blood. Sorry for ur loss
I'm suprised that this is fairly recent, but that poor baby. They deserved better than that. No cat should have to go through stroke or seizures
Yeah, I can't get myself to own another cat after this, and her sister's tumor issues four years later. They were my buds.
I told myself if and when I ever own some property, I would find me some fuzzy kitties to share it with.
thats what my cat did, except i live in the middle of nowhere, no vets for hours
Same thing happened to my guinea pig. I came home one day and she suddenly couldn't stand or use her back legs. I had to put her down. :'(
Sorry to hear that. I've actually framed photos of a bunch of my earlier pets and enjoy looking back to when we spent time together.
Jane Dupree poor thing
Did they rule out a spinal cord injury? Poor baby! Those heartbreaking mews.
So sad to watch. Hope you doin well....
I've read of anesthesia causing strokes in cats
My kitten died he was about two months he fell of the bed and he couldn't stand and he was running in place while laying down and then he just stopped breathing and I still don't know what he died from
Bless the darling;))

Is being dead a symptom
And sorry if you get offended! I lost a cat to a stroke and humour it off.. ❤️
What factor does WIFI have on stroke ,diabetes , and other neurological conditions
if we kept thinking about it then the effect will become real. The first step is to reduce thinking about it, this removes the placebo phenomenon. Second step is to try tweaking the router settings to reduce Wifi signal strength or keep it as is. Third step is to investigate the Wifi actual signal strength compared to a Microwave, cell-phone signals and TV signals to gauge if it is worth the effort to live with weak Wifi signal considering there's already other signals existing around.
this happened to my cat two nights night and i dont know what to do :(
Beautiful fur baby 😔😟💟
Why didn't you put cool water on the cat to help cool it down. I appreciate the video but couldn't you help?
Looks like vestibular disease also hard to tell the difference without blood work & xray
