We're both in So Cal, and dude, you need AC. I'm putting it in mine. 3. Get the car re-wired. You'll be glad you did. As a classic car owner /restorer (67 mustang) sometimes you are at the mercy of what the previous owner did... When I first restored mine in high school, I had to deal with alot of crappy things previous owner did. So I remember it constantly breaking down and always having to fix something but driving it and always turning heads kinda makes up for it... Now, 20 years later, I am restoring it again and redoing just about everything that I did not have the funds to do back in high school. So now, I myself know what's been done and feel more comfortable driving it.. And yes a TON of speed bumps along my rebuild process. At the end of the day, it's a classic. 👍 💪

Well Nate, since you asked! My daily driver is a 77 F-100. One of the things I dislike about these older ford pickups (73-79) are the fuel necks! When ford decided to move the gas tank from behind the driver seat to under the bed they made the fuel neck do a almost 90° turn! Whenever I am filling up I have to hold the handle where it's just barely letting fuel flow so that it doesn't backsplash out like your mustang! Also if I want to fill my tank completely I have to shake the bed so that the air bubbles can vent out the neck (it has a vent tube but it's not very effective). This seems to be a very common thing with these trucks as well, I have a friend that has the same year truck and he has to do the same exact thing!
Before you put the new motor in, you will need to fix your front suspension. New ball joints, tie rods, steering box... Consider a swap to rack and pinion. All that play on your steering means your suspension is worn.

One of Nates earlier video showed this car had 2 quarts of oil. So ya, previous owner didn't take care of it. Plus Nate should have checked the oil in front of the previous owner.
Do you plan on upgrading the suspension. Sway bar.. might give you a better feeling when driving also look into tightening the screw on the power steering I believe it will help with the play in the steering wheel
I got a 68 cougar Prestine and after reverse engineering the ac. I can say vintage air ac can be done diy. Just buy basic tool set, electric drill and a small electric circular saw. It can be done. Just get your wires 12-10 awg and make them long. But the only issue I'm fixing with the ac is that the ac cut off when it reach 185 engine temp
That car is beautiful, would you consider doing a full swap with the 2015 mustang chassis and stuff like “b is for build”was doing before that company took it away from them?
When the vehicle is running on a 1985 and prior when you let the car run off just the battery it will immediately burn the voltage regulator it says it in the Manuel
Shiny paint only gets you so far. First thing you do when buying a 50 year old car is go over brakes and suspension. As far as parts go buying what’s cheap will cost you more when you have to buy the better part afterwards anyways. You should also change to larger wires for the battery at the very least use 4awg, better grounds would also help some of your electrical issues. Gas gauge is an easy fix on most old cars the sending unit either has a bad ground or just needs replaced
Reason why you have over spill is that the old cars don't work well with the nozzles. You have to listen to that high pitch sound as the fuel hits the neck. And fix your sending unit.
Wanna make surer you have some subframe connectors before throwing a coyote at it. It will twist that body like a pretzel. 4 link suspension for the rear wouldn't be a bad idea either
I would watch that charge needle on your charge/ discharge gauge .It looks like it's pegged high. Sometimes voltage regulators can stick and it will boil your battery dry and ruin it. I never had it happen on my 68 fastback but I had a 68 Dart GT that would do it all the time. I would just make sure that needle comes back towards the center on the gauge.
Oh yeah the sputtering is probably the fuel filter. Older cars that sit alot have all these problems. Drive it and run it more. Fuel varnishes in the float bowls of the carb. Sitting bad....
Beverly heard you say you were struggling for reason #5, so she decided to give you #5 😳 I'm interested to hear what this latest issue is. How many miles did you put on her during that drive?
Honestly, it’s your dream car, so I don’t think you’re wrong for doing so much sacrifice. It’s also my dream car and I Will buy one when i make it in life, no matter what ppl say!
I totally understand with classic cars. My 92’ 5.0 if it’s not one thing it’s another, and if you install something new it breaks or worn out another part. I plan on getting the trick flow top end kit to hopefully get it at 340+ hp but I’m just mentally preparing myself what’s going to break next. 😂
We all doit sometimes with cars.😂😅🤷♂️ From love to livid. But I understand the struggle. Appreciate your honesty of the builds. Its motivation that sometimes s ..crap happens with these builds but it still looks great and ✅ still is awesome, no ac n all.⬆️
So all those issues are upgradable. Get a wire harness with modern blade style fuses conver to a one wire alternator with a internal voltage regulator. Convert over to a mustang 2 front end with a rack and pinion. Then throw the external coil and distributor in the trash and get an HEI distributor. The wire harness will fix all your other electrical issues And make the car reliable.
Omg 2 weeks... what a struggle... And dude I know coyotes can be BA but i think you should keep it old school with a carb, buy a blue print engine instead lol
Wow... You sound like a whiney little child... I hate these "why i hate my car" videos... Look guy fix it right once and it wont break down all the time... Thats a badass car. Stop bitchin about it. Ive had my 66 coupe since i was 14... im 34 now. My 66 was my first car and will be my last. Even if people start flying cars ill still ve down here on the busted ass roads while they're up there flying.
Also some classic mustangs came with ac and you can find a quality ac unit fir about 400 bucks and do it yourself ... Or just go the 4/80ac route .... 4 windows down and 80mph

One of Nates earlier video showed this car had 2 quarts of oil. So ya, previous owner didn't take care of it. Plus Nate should have checked the oil in front of the previous owner.
she might have issues but she looks darn good it's worth the troubles sometimes
These vids are so informative, I've been looking at a 1967.👌🏻
Do you plan on upgrading the suspension. Sway bar.. might give you a better feeling when driving also look into tightening the screw on the power steering I believe it will help with the play in the steering wheel
I'm curious, can someone answer pls. Where is the clutch? is it manual? How do you shift it??
All of you electrical issues are coming from that puny ass ground wire! Please learn the basics of your car!
Lol but true need to no the car and this is an old classic
I got a 68 cougar Prestine and after reverse engineering the ac. I can say vintage air ac can be done diy. Just buy basic tool set, electric drill and a small electric circular saw. It can be done. Just get your wires 12-10 awg and make them long. But the only issue I'm fixing with the ac is that the ac cut off when it reach 185 engine temp
I got a 1967 cougar xr7, got it in 1977 idrive it 1 hour a week how no rust north California car
I believe with the Pertronix ignition, you have to run a particular coil. Sounds like that's your problems started
I've got to ask what's the instrumental you have in your video!? Its dope and chill and fits the vibes.
Ay love yo bro 😍😍💪💪
I mean it's not a car for everyday use
Can you tell me where can I find one for a good price cuz when i turn 18 i want to buy one
Well technically it IS a car for every day use atleast at the time
Reason why you have over spill is that the old cars don't work well with the nozzles. You have to listen to that high pitch sound as the fuel hits the neck. And fix your sending unit.
Wanna make surer you have some subframe connectors before throwing a coyote at it. It will twist that body like a pretzel. 4 link suspension for the rear wouldn't be a bad idea either
"Little did you know a carb can adjust itself", yep we've all figured that out the hard way.
Good thing you weren’t complaining
I would watch that charge needle on your charge/ discharge gauge .It looks like it's pegged high. Sometimes voltage regulators can stick and it will boil your battery dry and ruin it. I never had it happen on my 68 fastback but I had a 68 Dart GT that would do it all the time. I would just make sure that needle comes back towards the center on the gauge.
It was charging the battery since it was down for two weeks. Now it pegs in the middle
@@NateRider Good, that's what I was hoping for. Have a good one.
How many miles did you put on her during that drive?
hahaha you got that right!
Bro, shes a beautiful car
thank you
Honestly, it’s your dream car, so I don’t think you’re wrong for doing so much sacrifice.
It’s also my dream car and I Will buy one when i make it in life, no matter what ppl say!
It’s gonna be a beast when the coyote swap is finished and btw what transmission are you going to run with the 5.0?
Hopefully a 10 speed it would be sick
Alberto Gonzalez yeah that would be sick
I totally understand with classic cars. My 92’ 5.0 if it’s not one thing it’s another, and if you install something new it breaks or worn out another part. I plan on getting the trick flow top end kit to hopefully get it at 340+ hp but I’m just mentally preparing myself what’s going to break next. 😂
you gotta prepare wisely lol
Nate Rider without a doubt 😂
Was that a backfire from your carb?
That thing is amazing that 30,000 is more than worth it
Coyoteeeee when you get the coyote are you going to install the Dakota cluster to fix all your gauge gremlins?
yup
Put a big block 390 or 428 in it don't Coyote swap it
Omg 2 weeks... what a struggle...
And dude I know coyotes can be BA but i think you should keep it old school with a carb, buy a blue print engine instead lol
I added rear sequential lights , blinker lights mirrors and blinker sequential lights on the hood Whoooo .. so much and $$$$
I too hate that mine has no AC
at the end of the day it still looks just stunning and sounds even better, i would say its still worth the trouble.
How does a rotor fall off of a hub cap????
Man...makes me sad to see him hate my dream car...I just got one that comes close-a ‘65...lots of work ahead of me lol
would you ever buy back sally ngl kinda miss her
I still love your car 😜 keep it up
lol funny to see Otay in a YT video that isn’t one of my boys canyon carving
What about it being an automatic?
I dont have a classic car but my 2000 mustang gt that I recently procharged has been guving me hella problems but its my car =my build idc lol how much money i put into her but yes there are times i feel bad about my car but everytime i shift down a gear and just hear that sound of my V2 vortech turbo go booooorrrrrrr thats the sound i live for 🔥🙏
TBH the way you are holding the fuel handle it’s not odd it’s actually the way you where suppose to hold them back in the day, that’s why the car takes the gas better that way
Welcome to a old car. They will break your heart
Down here in Texas that’s cool weather lol, my 96 f250 has no ac.
ufff thats rough
San Diego area ?
Love the car♥️🔥
I’d want a classic but I want some modern comforts, so I have my eyes on an 05-09 GT(or boost my current v6, screw it) for some classic looks
best way to go
Drive fast and bring down the windows .
Don’t stop 🤣.
This is what owning a classic car is like. And the prices they are charging you get a car that has a ton of hidden bogies
super sick stang
Well... at least it looks great!
it sure does!
Everyone knows the carbs need to be adjusted often. That's why you go with electronic fuel injection
these are just pretty typical older car problems, like even 10-20 year old cars will have these issues with higher mileage.
Am I the only one that daily drives a 70 classic
Swap the motor drive train and suspension with all of newer stuff swap it with a 5.0
coming soon!
