My family had a female Rottie named Abbey. When I was 17 I moved out of my parents main house, and into the apartment/guest house in our yard that was made out of a small barn. It was originally for my grandparents but they moved into one of those senior living apartments. Anyway, Abbey stayed with me in the barn apartment. One night in winter we had a really bad snow storm, the wind howled, the sliding barn door kept banging up against the regular outside door. Idk, it was just creepy vibes and an unexplained feeling of dread that usually wasn't in the apartment, Abbey was on alert the entire night.
We have a 10 week old Rottie. She’s learning so much. My husband is a butcher. I tell her how lucky she is having a butcher for a daddy.

That's so apropos because Rottweilers have sometimes been called *metgerhunden* or butcher's dogs.

@@DrOtto-sx7cp wrong... they were used by butchers to haul carts of meat...that's also why their tails were docked.

I am now on my 17th Rotty can I just say he is nothing like my other Rottweilers he doesn’t like people and kids he is extremely hard to walk as he fully goes people the thing is he is not food aggressive he rather me hand feed him he does play extremely rough I am covered in bruises but this is the thing I didn’t get him as a little pup he was already 11 months old when I went to pick him up he was completely fine he was sitting with the cat their three year old daughter was jumping all over him so I thought great he is good with kids and other animals I did bring my nephew with me and he absolutely adored him so I couldn’t say no but when I got him home wow he completely did a 360 so I contacted he’s previous owner asking him if he wanted to take him back as he was being to aggressive but then I learnt the sad truth about him he was raised to be a guard dog and he was constantly beaten by the wife so I gave him a chance as my heart ❤️ was broken after hearing that he is getting better but will never be able to be properly socialised I am extensive training with him has learnt a lot but still has a long way to go he is a beautiful boy that cost me $6000 comes with papers and he’s parents are champion show dog’s Roman Rottweilers my moral is never give up show them lots of love he has a sad story but a great ending as he is loved and adored by all of us my nephew myself and my son and dad so people if you have Rottweilers please make sure that you have time for them as they really need a lot of it and effort as I said I have a lot of experience with these dogs and if not cared for properly they can become aggressive and bite you

Our two boys still had home are his peers
That’s how he sees it and he tolerates our tiny Chorgi well
But you always should monitor them around non family
And they know
Our married daughters come visit and he can smell they are one of us
Very bright
Rotts and Dobies have been my life for many years
And He’s ok with livestock though he’ll try to herd a bit
My first male Rott saved my then girlfriends life from an intruder
Zero training
I only buy Serbian or German stock Rotts and
German only Dobies too

Good info. Thanks....dont see why there are idiots in this chat talking b.s if u know this dont watch it....simple.....even the mist experienced rottweiler owner at ine point in time got their first rottweiler.....not everyone knows this stuff so either watch and learn or do one
