    No 2 ways about it, the RS 470, coupled with the Center Punch arrows, that I top off with the G5 Montec 125 gr is the best on the market. Bow tech support from TenPoint and Customer Service from TenPoint Technologies is unparalleled. They are, simply the best!
    Not being one who would ever consider an open shot past 50 yards, I do need to research how the “laser projection” aspects of this sighting system complies with hunting rules across many states.
    The absolute best functional aspect of the RS470 is the safety features related to cocking and decocking. Next up is the pure power. Imagine this, as you aim and fire, by the time u say or think, “got him....” the bolt is almost 2 football fields away.......3 weeks ago, did a pass-thru on a recovered Bull Elk @ 48 yards. 2 whitetails @ 30 in the past 2 weeks, both pass-thrus. Last year a complete “long ways” pass-thru on a bragging sized whitetail at 35 yards. Plus, two Rocky Mt. black bears, one at 42 yards, and that lighted nock arrow is still buried deep inside the side of the mountain.
    Yup, investing in this is a great choice!

      @@TenPointCrossbows To me, the most exciting aspect of this, “marriage of range finder & sight”, is for a fella like me, who uses a shooting stick. Hence, my left hand and arm are always engaged. Plus hunting hilly, wooded and mountainous terrain. This Garmin addition to the best bow on the market, allows for uninterrupted target acquisition, distancing without having to toggle back and forth between bow and range finder. Very impressive!
      For now, since I have 3 more deer permits and a turkey permit. My RS470 with the Marksman shooting system, that allows me to fine tune a non-recommended broadhead, MONTEC G5/125 gr will be my go to, until Jan 1st. Then I will go check this out at my local TenPoint dealer!

    The scope only ask me to adjust up and down electronically? Do you know how to
    adjust left and right electronically?

      Which four states? I'm just asking because you sound like you're just trying to spread doubt. Some of the uptight stupid states I could see that but you didn't mention any of the four states. I think it's easier to ask which states have uptight restrictions that would prevent using this.

      Im sure you could just buy the scope separately but I bet the scope is all of $2500. Its a cool set up but it kind of takes the sport out of it not to mention the whole reason you hunt with a bow and crossbow is to bring the game in as close as you can and when you can shoot 250 yards with a arrow you may as well just use a rifle

    • @lucasstone162
      @lucasstone162 3 роки тому

      @@samp700sp That scope is $1400 give or take a little depending on where you look. I agree with you on that thing somewhat taking the sport out of hunting. If someone needed it for a reason such as a vision issue, then I could see it's purpose, but other than that, I'd just get this with the Evo-X scope for $1000 less cost.

      Either way it's a nice piece of equipment, I'm debating on pulling the trigger and getting one, but I'm thinking I may wait til the new Ravin comes out just to shoot and compare. Although I just shot the r29x and didn't really like the feel of it so I'm not expecting much from the new ravin other than their talking points.

    A 3.5 magnification is fine for up to a 30 yard shot, when you get to a 50 yard shot you want to move that magnification up to a 6.5. After that at 80 yards you will want a 8-10 magnification or better. That why a normal run of the mill rifle scope is 3-9X40. This Garmin scope is stationary at 3.5 MM.

    The scope is a bit too heavy for my liking as it comes in at almost 2 lbs.(30.4 ounces) which takes the bow total weight to over 12 pounds when you add all the common accessories to it. (i.e. bolts, quiver, bracket, sling, scope, crank handle).
    I will pass on this scope and keep my Sig Sauer Sierra 3 BDX 3.5-10X 42 MM, which weighs less than the Garmin iXero (20.4 ozs.) and Kilo 1400 6X20MM rangefinder that is transferring its data 4 times a second to the scope to position the holdover dot where the deer is at.

    • @lucasstone162
      @lucasstone162 3 роки тому

      You're comparing apples to oranges with the crossbow scope vs rifle scope. They both fill a different purpose. You wouldn't use a rifle scope on a crossbow, nor vice-versa

    • @billsmith147
      @billsmith147 3 роки тому

      @@lucasstone162 Yes, I am using a rifle scope on my crossbow. There are a large number of individuals besides myself using a Sig Sauer Sierra 3 BDX rifle scope and range finder. You can zero the rifle scope in at 20 yards and typically shoot out to 80-100 yards extremely accurately. Now in a hunting environment I would not shoot more than 50 yards at an animal to ensure an accurate and lethal shot.

      The Vapor RS470 is the most technologically advanced crossbow on the market paired with an equally advanced scope made by Garmin. The Garmin scope alone retails for approximately $1400, which leaves the Vapor RS470 at approximately $2600 - and that includes a full package with arrows & accessories. That is $400 under your estimate for a high-end compound setup.

    • @lucasstone162
      @lucasstone162 3 роки тому

      @@TenPointCrossbows That's all marketing speak, there is nothing "technologically advanced" about a crossbow. It may have been designed using technology, but it is still a mechanical tool, other than the Garmin scope in this case.
