- This was the idea of my friend on twitch JustSomeGuyTN! I should have mentioned that in the video!
I have been making some copper pipe lamps and needed a way to polish them up. Chat at twitch.tv/behindthescenes helped me come up with a way to build a tool for it!

"You wanna put some thickness on your rod" - i have heard that before and it dont hurt me no more.
I’m going to follow your channel just to see how long you keep your fingers.
I absolutely LOVE the look of brightly polished copper. I just moved into a new house, the laundry room is filled with exposed copper lines, wife wants to replace it all. Told her no way, let me clean it, paint the walls behind and see how awesome it'll look.
Where did you move into? A sqwatters house? It might be better to replace the wall's before you paint
@@TherealMandingo squatter house?!? What the hell kinda question is that?!? Very nice quiet neighborhood. Far from anything resembling that
@@Lou13Cyf3r He said that because it's very uncommon to have exposed copper piping like that in a laundry room.
@@packetattack7437 it is not "very uncommon" to have exposed pipe in a laundry room.
@@tonyc7352 In which country? In the States the majority of copper piping is behind walls with just outlets for the washing machine and a drain pipe. If you have a finished laundry room it will be this way so yes it's uncommon.
Polish copper in seven seconds, all you need is all this stuff!!
Flip the grip, nice, I haven't used that move in a while. When the ball and chain leaves, I'm gonna give it a wack.
Yes we all want to add thickness to our rod!! Lol
Ahhhh... Ya beat me to it
looks good but how do you do it when there is water running through them in the basement to make them shine and sparkle?
I wouldn't 😅
Cut handles off old two turn brushes... you can tighthen them onto drill and insert into the pipe. Works the same way but definetly saves the time
What is a “2 turn brush”? Genuinely can’t figure it out. Thank you
@@TylrVncnt copper fitting brush. We always call them 2 turns because it’s two turns of the brush and the fittings clean.
I like the wooden Dow on the drill trick ✨✨✨
Apply vinegar and salt. It is most effective to clean.
show me!
INGENIOUS
doesn’t work if the pipes are stuck to a wall 😞
About the vice comment that's how I know you a man cut from the same cloth.
This is awesome thank you!!
put the saw upside down and saw with the stick so to say...
I like it!
How did you know my grandparents left me hacksaws. Hahah
grandparents leave everyone hacksaws!
What about one of those rock polishers from Harbor Freight for the 90's
would probably work, and would likely take hours
Try a buffing wheel and polish compound. You can get a real, perfectly mirror polish in the similar amount of time.
Great idea let's tell him to mirror polish the pipes that get hidden behind walls. High five. Lol
@@TherealMandingo I see you contribute nothing of value to the comment section for this video.
@@TherealMandingo it isn't for putting behind walls. It's for those of us doing projects out of copper pipe. I've made towel holders, lamps, and shelves with copper pipe. This made cleaning up all those pieces far easier. Way to not use your brain about other uses for copper pipe.
7 seconds...and the video is 6min 39...???
welcome to UA-cam 🤣
I read if the outside of a copper pipe is oxidized and blue not to remove the blue because it protects the pipe?
Anyone know if that is true?
@@jamesofalo6247 never seen blue copper!
@@MooseDoesStuff light greenish blue or bluish green?
@jamesofalo6247 either! I'm colour blind 😆
It’s all in the wrist 🤜🤣
Thank you ☺️
Get a c clamp and a peice of 2x4 or something to hold dowel down. Then saw that way. Cheap vise.
clamps cost extra!
polish 7 sec, prepare for 10 min.
one tool takes 10min to make - but you only make it once!
Sounds like my wife
@@MooseDoesStuff lol yeah this tool who made a tool will last a lifetime.lol I just had too..

Smart idea Thx 👍
Why not sandwich the steel-wool between two pieces of wood, turn the sandwich using drill ?
This lets you do any length of copper, I'm not sure how that would work by turning the wool
To keep them polished and shiny, can you add a polyurethane?
dunno! I used a spray but it could be worth a try 😄
@@MooseDoesStuff what spray did you use?
@@dgoins6 ua-cam.com/video/TiBtrva4NL0/v-deo.html
Oh and a vice x
wow... some people
Please use a vice, your fingers will thank you!
if I had one!
Imme need my pipe polished asap!!
Polish my pipe? Ummm, what?
Polish copper in 7 hours😒
seconds, not hours 💩🤡
Great instead of tarnishing it will rust high five bob. Lol please use some Scotch Brite or sandpaper. the poor plumber's that see this will shit there pants.
It's not for plumbing purposes. It's for projects you display.
7 seconds ???? Preparation took 10 minutes. dumbest idea
@@hkbsud3431 how much u think a 7s yt vid pays?
I bet you got that saying from the wife?
You say your too cheap for a vice but you have the most expensive drills you can buy!!!!! Ok now holding the wood while you cut it. You use your bench and hold it down with your weak ha d and you hold saw with your strong hand.
it's possible the drill was a gift.
or that I bought it when i had a different job. or any of 100 other reasons I ha e a drill and not a vise 🤔
It takes a six-and-a-half minute video to show how to polish copper in 6 seconds🙄🤔
I'd love to hear how you'd edit it down better 😁
@@MooseDoesStuff people watching this video probably have a basic knowledge of how to use tools all we needed to know was how to attach the pipe to the dowel and put it in the drill and used the steel wool
Maybe you should take up knitting, hand tools require common sense.
