Yes, you're right. Malaya received their independence on Aug 31, 1957. Malaysia was later form together with Sabah, Sarawak and Singapore. Nevertheless Malaysia is a very beautiful place. Pray that She'll continue to have peace and harmony always.

Yes it was called Malaya until Singapore, Sarawak and Sabah joined Malaya and the new nation was called Malaysia in 1963. However Singapore became an independent nation two years later in 1965.

@@AmandaMuse You're welcome. Just to add on, because Malaysia actually began development only after Singapore left and really started off in the 1970's, Malaysia is relatively one of the late bloomers in South East Asia.
Yups Singapore want separate from Malaysia . Since the lion and the tiger cant stay in same cage . Then both become stronger country in Asean . 🤗 same goes to Brunei .
@@blackiexia7112 Singapore never wants to separate from Malaysia.. It is Tunku Abdul Rahman who expelled Singapore from the Federation. Singapore especially Lee Kuan Yew called for equality for all citizens or Malaysian Malaysia... But, Malays insist to accept the concept because afraid of the fate of Malay people which at that time most are poor and do not afford to have proper education, jobs, etc...

I was born, raised and living in Borneo Isle (Sarawak), watching your reaction video together with this footage for the first time makes me yearn to travel back to Peninsula (which we would have back in May, for annual family vacation but got cancelled due to the pandemic).
I used to fly over on the way to Sibu. Never been to Sarawak but....there was a ww2 runway (I think made from steel grates) very near you. I was always intrigued by Sarawak.
@@planetdean8254 Wait, I'm confused. You've never been to Sarawak, but visited Sibu? Sibu IS in Sarawak, unless you got mixed up with Cebu, Phillipines (same pronunciation, but different cities, and in different countries altogether).
Ahh sorry. Samarahan on the way to sibu I meant to write. The west part of eastern Malaysia. I would love to visit.
@@planetdean8254 Well, well... Look at that! You HAVE been to Sarawak! Both cities (Kota Samarahan & Sibu) are in fact part of several divisions in Sarawak. As for me, I'm from Mukah Division that constitutes other several districts.

If you notice that the tallest building in the country called PNB 118(still under construction), the building is actually resembling the shape of our 1st Prime Minister named Tengku Abdul Rahman, who was standing and proclaiming the "MERDEKA for 7 times" when he raised his hand(as pinnacle pole of the building itself). 😝. Hope you'd enjoy living in Malaysia 🇲🇾.

nenek aku usia dia dh lebih dari seratus tahun sekarang dia dh tkde..dia meninggal mse thun 2016 tk silap..dia selalu cerita zaman2 komunis datang serang kt kedah..time tu dia muda lagi dia cerita dia nampak orng2 yng kt dlm kebun getah kene pancung..kene ikat pstu disula memang ngeri dia kata time tu..mase tu nenek aku ikut bapak dia noreh..lepas dia nampak komunis time tu..bpk dia suruh lari blik rumah..tpi sbb tkut sngt dia pergi terjun parit menyorok dlm tu smpai ker malam..memang terkencing ape semua sbb tkut..nsib mse tu umur dia pnjng sorng komunis pun tk jumpa dia..mcm2 lah dia cerita kat aku time dia sihat dulu..skrng dia dh tkde rindu plak nk dngr kisah2 misteri seram dia ngn zmn2 dulu😂

We gained independence on 31/8/1957 as Malaya, then on 16/9/1963, Sabah Sarawak & Singapore gained their independence by joining Malaysia.
What differentiates our independence is that we (sort of ish) gained independence by discussions and talks and not war...
