Had a coworker that transferred from LA to Dallas for a career move. They lasted two summers and his wife made him move back to SoCal. She said all the weather warnings gave her too much stress, at least with an earthquake you get no warning. No kidding, she really said that.
Im southern girl.. Sometimes they go way overboard with those dang sirens!! Last bad one we had they just kept on and on for like 45mins:: I was like "damn I get it, I might die soon, enough already you are stressing me the he'll out".. They do some jacked up damage too" A couple yrs ago one took out a entire county here in KY a couple weeks before christmas.. It was a few hrs away from my county; but my brother ran a mission crew to help them for a few months..
I've always said: "When you are picking a place to live - Pick what natural disaster you can live with: Earthquakes, tornadoes, hurricanes, or snow so high you're lost."
Me too and I’m super crafty. Two tennis rackets tied to my Timberlands… Snowshoes! A big Rubbermaid container and the neighbors dog? Dogsled! Bam! What?! Lol. @@kerenolivero7097
Where I live it's mostly tornados. But we still get hit with the edge of hurricanes, the occasional earthquake (small ones) and once every handful of years a good sized blizzard that kills power for weeks. Why pick when you can have them all? ^_^ lol
I was born in Montana (snow so high), spent 13 yrs in Miami (small tornadoes on the edges of hurricanes) and now live in earthquake country. In all of them preparation is important. And then you hunker down. Even with deep snow eventually someone is gonna come dig you out. Think I'd rather have 8 ft of snow than 8 ft of water.
My army buddy was from Virgina, and we both served in Iraq together. He moved here to Texas in May 2011, and I tried to warn him about our summers. His response, "Man I've been to Iraq 3 times, and I'm from Virgina, I ain't worried about a little heat." First day of his job, working outside, "WHAT THE F@#K, THIS HEAT IS UNBEILIVABLE!!!!😮" I laughed so hard at him that day.😂😂😂😂😂
I lived in several places with my husband and daughter while in the military. California, first earthquake... not too bad. Illinois, first white out snow storm... kinda scary as I was driving. Florida, first hurricane (thankfully only got the edge of it) still pretty scary. Then we move back home to Georgia, we get in the first 10 years.... an earthquake, 2 floods and 3 tornadoes!! I'm like what the F is happening here. I remember only a few snow days when school was canceled and an ice storm growing up!! Lol
One of the funniest comedians out there. The tornado siren part was hilarious. And she doesn't even curse and she still had me in stitches. I even got the hiccups from laughing. Please keep making more videos.
😂😂🤣🤣Love all your videos but this one about tornado my favorite! “Husband flying out of bed when hears siren” hilarious. You are such a talent! (For those of you that haven’t seen extended version that begins w spiders…search for it & watch immediately.)Thank you for sharing your massive talent & making our days better w laughter. God bless you & your family. 💕
Dorothy left Kansas because of these, I left Kansas too because of these and moved to Texas only to find they moved to Texas , and my wife had never encountered these before and she's from NYC, OMG 😂😂👍💯💯‼️‼️
I left Kansas because of the humidity, not because of tornados. I'm like, Tornado?! Ah sh*t, somebody grab us some popcorn and boiled peanuts! Kids, get the sodas! I got my camera...
20 years ago I moved from the Inland Empire to Texas. I called my mom, crying, the first time I heard those sirens. Girl, I'll take an Earthquake, all day everyday.
As an Oklahoman I can confirm people like to watch tornadoes from the porch. But we also experience earthquakes from time to time. Now that freaks me out more than a tornado 😂
I am an Army Brat too. When I was ten years old, we lived in Lawton (outside of Fort Sill), Oklahoma and experienced all the tornado sirens warnings. We had no basement so my mom sat in the tub with my baby sister. My brother and I sat in the bathroom doorway frame facing each other. It was horrible. Decades later I am living in New York City (Queens) and a tornado comes through the twin 24 story buildings. My husband and I lived on the 18th floor. My husband was out on the balcony and asked me, "Why is the sky green?" I started screaming at him to get inside and go to the bathroom. Of course, he doesn't come in. I yell at him, "It's a tornado!" I also experienced an earthquake in the same apartment. It felt like I was in a roller coaster. I have never been more scared. As soon as it was over, I took the elevator down and sat in my car. I called my mom and started crying. I will take a tornado over the earthquake.
My most memorable tornado was when I was in 6th grade and our math teacher flicked the lights off for a moment (to signal that it was time to put away our little math games) *_JUST AS IT WENT DARK OUTSIDE_* ... you never heard a group of sixth graders scream that hard!
I'm in Mississippi so I get tornadoes, hurricanes and small earthquakes..oh and every couple of years snow, which I love..not blizzard, no electricity, scary snow, just enough for a snowman 😊
Hello from California where we have felt 3 earthquakes over the last 3 months around magnitude 4, but now with shake alert, our phones alarm, giving us ten seconds to brace ourselves. There is always that instant rush of adrenaline every time you hear the alarm or that first "OMG it's an earthquake", but then in the next second ya just roll back over and go back to sleep usually! But yes, those tornadoes. I went to school in Ohio and wow, they had gorgeous thunderstorms and amazing skies, then then sirens go off and it's time to get into he basement. A few years ago I was in Massachusetts driving when suddenly the radio had an emergency alarm and I had to pull inot the Walmart parking lot and with a 100 people, we ran in to the store where the manager took all of quikcly to the back and of the store inside some storage area. So fun!!!!
You are the best, you make me laugh every time.😂😂 And when I’m done listening to you I fast forward you to the rest of my family cuz we all love you..❤️❤️
In '97 we moved from NM to DFW right in the middle of Tornado Alley. A few years later, a tornado went through downtown Ft Worth, taking out the Bank One building, my brother was stuck in traffic starring at a green wall cloud, and my sister n law was hiding in a closet wirh a toddler and 8 mos pregnant. Good times
I watched the entire special with tears in my eyes from laughing. Anjelah Johnson still remains one of my favorite comedians. Going back to the Bon Qui Qui days and nail salon!
I had that same time experience. No text alert just the sirens. I asked my husband the same thing what is that?? He said don't worry about it go back to sleep. Yeah right! I lived in South Texas all my life never heard those sirens. At least there we had plenty of time to prepare. My children 3, and I slept in the center of the house tub covered with a twin bed mattress. I only lasted 18 months came back to Texas.. 😂😂😂
Went through a couple 5s in San Francisco back in the day. Nothing broke but the jitters lasted a while. Few years before the big '89 quake, moved East so we missed that one. Drove across country, staying in motels. When we got to Kansas, I insisted on finding a motel made out of brick. Turned the TV to the radar channel. Trouble sleeping that night. I'm with Angela, will take an earthquake over a tornado any day!
I've lived through both. The Loma Prieta earthquake of 1989, and the big-ass mother of all tornadoes in Moore, OK in 1999. I honestly couldn't say. PTSD comes with either. My family has lost EVERYTHING twice, but not our lives. For THAT, I am thankful to God Almighty!
Former Californian and Loma Prieta survivor. Earthquakes were no big deal. Moved to the Southeast and the first week I was there, there was a tornado warning. Worse storm , I ever was in. Didn't have any basement or shelter building to go to.
I love her she's so hilarious like why don't we we have more like her now in days comedians try to be funny but they really not in list Anjelah Johnson is very original 👏🏽💯
I've lived my whole life in and around OKC. Every spring is tornado season. You just get used to it. The WEIRD thing is how fracking has now brought earthquakes here, starting about ten years ago. Recent restrictions on fracking have greatly reduced the frequency of earthquakes, but we just had some a few days ago. 4.4 here. We had a 5.something maybe eight years ago that put a huge crack in the wall of our house. Crazy.
Facial expressions can be a key factor in standup comedy - Jackie Gleason was a master at that art. Remember his routine about the “take” and the “double take” and the “double double take.” Each of which was illustrated by a different face! Hilarious! This gal is super good with her facial expressions! Pay attention to her face when she talks about the spiders in their outdoor basement. I’ll not live long enough to see her in person, but YOU should try!
I can feel for you, sister. My husband was in the Air Force and we moved all over. We had tornadoes in Florida earthquakes in California. 52 days of rain a.k.a. not even Noah had to go through that in Germany. Tornado in North Carolina. 20 years of moving around so far no big emergencies at home in Virginia and he dug a basement because our house we bought didn’t have one. It’s got indoor and outdoor entrance so you’re good to go.
5:40...How you say about rubber bands...I'm that way with paper and cardboard boxes -- never know when you might need a good cardboard box. They've become especially valuable since I viewed a video on little, Japanese women going about town collecting and selling for money.
I’m from Texas 956 area/H-town. We never had a basement. I have only seen a few tornados. Hurricanes are not scary for me. A 3.5 or 4 earthquake is nothing for me. However, I was transferred to Guam a couple of months ago and this fucking earthquakes are not joke. The highest that I have felt is a 5.7 usually they average about 5-5.4. The first time I felt an earthquake I almost crapped my pants and I was scared. Now I’m used to this types of earthquakes but I just hope that I don’t get to experience an earthquake higher than a 5.7.
I used to live in Cali if I felt dizzy I would look around to see if there was any chandeliers moving and I would ask am I feeling dizzy or are we having an earthquake, lol!
I agree very devasting earthquake happen maybe once every generation; devasting tornados happened several time during the same year and it is getting worst every year.
I’m from North Carolina and now live in Ohio. As a kid, I used to love spring because it meant summer was coming. As an adult, I hate it because it means allergies and MANY tornados. Been here five years, and every time the sirens go off (my apartment complex is right next to one), I do the same thing as Angelah. I ran downstairs one time and beat on my neighbor’s door wearing a comforter and carrying my cellphone and Keurig machine. No ID. No shoes. No charger. No keys. Left my apartment completely unlocked. I don’t know what the hell I was thinking!
In the 1990s I went to school in Ohio. I'm from California, so earthquakes earthquakes earthquakes, but in Ohio, those tornadoes and thunderstorms were so exciting especially at night when we we go on the roof and see the beauty of the stormy skies every time lightening would light it up .... the colors, wow, gorgeous. Eventually though we'd end up in some tornado basement in the building. Those storms were amazing.
I come from a country with a lot of earthquakes and I will definitely take an earthquake over a tornado. A 4 Richter scale earthquake barely moves me 😅
My grandparents lived in Oroville CA and during the earthquakes of the 70s, he laughed as mechanics would flee the garage, while the cars jumped around. He just stood watching the show as plate glass exploded in the showroom flloor. Said the ground rocked like an ocean. The house he built though, the chimney was so solid, it never even cracked. Sadly, I've slept through the only earthquake I've been in, and have yet to see a tornado (on my bucket list).
Lol!😂 I was in Kansas and I had just pulled up to the casino on the pottawatomy Reservation there was a storm coming in a really bad storm. The security guards were standing outside yelling at me to run and to get into the building that a Tornado was coming in. Everybody in the casino what's underground underground I guess it was a basement. They took me into the basement with everybody else. You could hear all kinds of rattling and sounded like a Train above us. I was so scared because I only knew earthquakes. I had never experienced a tornado. I was so scared and then I wanted my dad and then I started to cry!😂 I told the people that I was standing next to that I was from California and we only had Earthquakes.
I’ve been through tornadoes and earthquakes, I mean really bad so neither one of them I do not wish to be a part of! But, storm surge has to be the worst for me. Waves as high as 8 to 10 feet tall and I was in a mid size boat close to the shore. That right there I thought this was it, no way we can survive this and reach the shore line in one piece. Everyone on the small boat panicked except for me. I waited patiently for what I thought would be the end, but it never came. Did I mentioned that it was only a dream? 😂
I've lived in earthquake country and tornado country. I think I would take a tornado over an earthquake. Tornados are somewhat predictable and you can actually see them and there's somewhere you can go to get away from them.
A sign of really good comedian is one who can have you in stitches without having to use shock words to get a cheap thrill. Shows real talent.
EXACTLY!!
She’s amazing
She talks about things we all get
Asparagus rubber bands in the junk drawer 😂
Absolutely
She's sooooo legit. Doesn't try to turn a TEDtalk into comedy in vain like a great few.
"but you said we could WATCH IT!!!" 😂😂😂
Had a coworker that transferred from LA to Dallas for a career move. They lasted two summers and his wife made him move back to SoCal. She said all the weather warnings gave her too much stress, at least with an earthquake you get no warning. No kidding, she really said that.
I’m dead. 😂🤣😂🤣 I’m also an army brat and have lived all over. That’s funny, but I’ll stay in Virginia over CA! 🤭
@shakey2634 🤣😂🤣

Yeah, I wonder if she ever sat through a 7.2 by herself. I’d like a warning personally. But that’s just me.
I've always said:
"When you are picking a place to live - Pick what natural disaster you can live with: Earthquakes, tornadoes, hurricanes, or snow so high you're lost."
I picked to live with the snow one :)

Do you have different earthquakes than the ones we do in california? Scary? Wtf?
Yep. I grew up in Wichita, New Orleans and Houston. Then I moved to Los Angeles. Equally scary moments.

I'll take an earthquake any day!! It's always a surprise, feel like they last forever, but pass quickly. I go under the doorway. 😊
I bet she’d be a great friend, you’d be laughing constantly.
I like my blizzards in NH thanks 😅
When I lived in Kansas my spouse at the time would get so pissed that I would go outside when the sirens were screaming!!! Mother Nature is so amazing
Got to love the Ryman Auditorium... The Mother Church is AWESOME!
So glad Anjelah came to Nashville.
I'm a recovering Californian living in East Texas. I do love it here but, the weather can be a little crazy at times.

Thank you Anjelah for your hard work and great laughs. You're the best!

IMO it's rare to find a female comic that's actually funny, I've never heard of this lady but she is funny, kudos.

And they affect a relatively narrow area.
Whoa! 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
😂😂😂😂she's really funny ❤

You deserve a Netflix special. You are heads and shoulders above Amy Schumer, Whitney Cummings, and Christina P.

This was the funniest skit, I laughed way too hard 😂😂😂
I have lived through two terrible tornados that killed people. I have also lived through two earthquakes in Northern Indiana!
