    This will be our most common long trip so this was very useful. Thanks

      You're welcome! BYD Atto 3 does it easily:)

    According to BYD Atto 3 Owners Handbook (P36), the triangle exclamation mark is called Main warning light. If this indicator comes on, you need to check the fault prompt or warning information in the information display area (in your case, at 04:00 , the display is showing 'Speed 110km/h Exceeded'). Also the red round sign with a number 110 in it is road sign recognition (RSR) indicator. The car's traffic sign recognition system (P114) identifies speed limit signs on the road through the multifunctional camera controller. When the speed limit icon on the cluster comes on, it means the vehicle speed should be within range. When the cluster shows the speed is over 5 km/h above the identified speed limit, the icon on the cluster will flash to alert the driver. At the same time Intelligent speed limit warning is also given when speed exceeds the detected speed limit. When the system identifies the end of speed limit icon or after the vehicle travels for a while, the speed limit icon will disappear. Be aware that, similar to other cars, the road sign reader might not always pick up the correct number. So don't rely on it. So for your case, the dash displayed a red 110 sign to warn you that on that road the speed sign it picked up was 110km/h. However you drove beyond 110km/h eventually. So the main warning light turned on and showed you a warning message in the information display area saying 'Speed 110km/h Exceeded'.

      Thanks for the explanation. I have since increased the warning speed to 120km/h, hopefully this will avoid a warning light displaying on the dash.

    The location near Coffs Harbour is called Boambee (or to break it up, boh-am-bee), it is not Bomabee 😉.

    Warning comes on when you have cruise control on but have your foot on the accelerator going that limit. Happy to be corrected!

    It’s good you’re happy with it , I’d be interested to see the exact same trip every couple of years as the battery degrades .
    A family member has a dual motor Tesla , like all EVs it comes with a bunch of compromises , and one big things about EVs , if you ever have a family emergency and have to cover a lot of miles in a hurry , EVs are a disaster, you cannot rely on them.
    And that piss poor range is only going to shrink as the car gets older.
    But all the best to you.

      What rot. You're recycling the same points that have not been accurate for even a decade, and your 'family emergency' line is deliberately manipulative. The fact is you don't own and EV or have really done any research into it, but.... a family member apparently has one so, somehow this qualifies your position?
      You have no idea even of the durability of the battery in this car - you are just basing it on what was true for the Nissan Leaf about a decade or so ago. Has your family member's battery degraded enough to qualify this? I bet it hasn't. A quick google and you'll actually have a sense of how much you don't actually know.
      But hey, if you love paying for increasingly expensive petrol just because you think the battery won't last (untrue) and you.... may.... may... need to cover ground quickly because of a family emergency, well. Good luck to you.

      @@Carnormous ❤️👍 , but is it really worth spending so much on byd or should I start with atto 3, or seal lion 07 all wheel drive... or go with the damn model y awd lr whenever that's launched here. Confucius lol.

    Is the car stable on high way at 110km? Some motor journalist seem to suggest the car is not stable on highway?

    • @Carnormous
      @Carnormous  Рік тому +2

      Car is very stable cruising at 110 kmh or above. As the suspension is set up for cruising it can be upset by continuous humps in the road which better suits non compliant sports suspension. I prefer soft suspension.

    I was considering getting the BYD dolphin. Then I heard someone say that their byd car is always in the repair and it always has problems.

      I would suggest you join some owners groups on Facebook or equivalent. There are lots of people against new technology even though it is cheaper and better than petrol cars. People are afraid of change. Most EV drivers love their cars and would never go back.

    You are right. If you are charging on a fastcharger, shot the car down and leaf it alone. Then it will charge up to 60-70 kW. If you enter the car, while fastcharging, it will interrupt.

    • @Helis7
      @Helis7 Рік тому +1

      That is not the case in my Atto in NZ. The fast charger only gets that top speed for the middle charge range and temp of battery does also play a part. sitting in the car with it on while charging will go as quick as if the car was off minus any power needed to run the AC but even when the car is off and it's on charge. the AC can be started by the car anyway to cool/heat the battery so this again will reduce its charge rate as the AC can use up to 3kwh. don't be afraid to sit in your car with it on listening to music. you might lose an extra minute but you'll enjoy a cool rest when its really hot out. The car will already be cooling the battery if you have also been driving for a while. It's also possible NZ has software improvements that havent been released in AU yet. We have access to the app now as well and it's such an awesome addition. I can use 100% of the car with just my phone. no more keys needed and I have the NFC card as backup.
