Can't believe Charlie turned into the monkey man after Wendigoon cut him out of his Gooniverse project 😔

It's a terrible day for rain.

These comments are so fucking cringe and annoying. Keep it on the reddit. Fuckin obnoxious as fuck. The red thread isn't and has never been about Charlie (pedophile apologist/defender). Period.
Stop. It's fucking annoying. Some people want to use the comment section to comment about the contents of the video. Crazy, I know.

7:07 as a biologist I can tell you that there does not need to be a drastic environmental shift in order for speciation to occur, as long as the 2 populations separated by the river never come into contact again for a very long time.
When 2 same species populations are separated by the river and they don't come into contact anymore (search allopatric speciation), the same random mutations that occur on one population can't really be "transferred" to the population on the other side.
That in combination with slight differences in available food or presence of other competing animals living on one side but not the other, and random mutations, is enough in the long term to lead to the formation of new subspecies or species.
interesting
Makes sense i suppose :)
Or it happened over 500,000 years
Chimps also adapt super fast. Troops in warring areas of central africa have become nocturnal to avoid being killed for bush meat.
So how many generations do you think it'll take before the Japanese snow monkey population living in the preserve in Dilly Texas are distinct enough from the original population in Japan to count as two separate species? The environmental differences are fairly extreme between the two places. Also how long before the monkeys in Florida count as a different species than its ancestors? Basically how many years before the monkeys we do have here in north America count as north American primates.
Yoo Indian fan here, excited to finally have a cryptid episode from here. And yes my city does have a lot of monkeys roaming around, they're mostly chill, except sometimes they may yoink food out of your hands

Lukewarm take: Caleb is a better co-host than Charlie was. Charlie was like an energy vacuum a lot of the time, there were occasional laughs and jokes, but in general he usually seemed disinterested. Caleb has been very active and engaged these three episodes and adds so much that was missing energy wise.
When it came to Charlie if it was a topic that he found interesting he was really engaged but if it was a topic outside his interest zone he completely was very vocally "meh" about it
Totally agree, Charlie is a good youtuber but I feel like his apathetic attitude just doesn't transfer well to the podcast universe where you need a lot of character
100% correct
I feel the same and I think he realized it too...and that's why he wanted to take a step back, he even said streaming was just basically autopilot and he was in his words "lobotomized" and if you keep up with him imo he seems so much happier
I feel like Charlie and Isaiah had tension between them as well. Not that they weren’t friends, but it just felt like Charlie would get annoyed at Isaiah constantly trying to state facts and never played into his jokes.
Thank you Jackson and Jackson’s girlfriend. The guests this week were fun as well.
this notification sent shivers up my spine. i wrote an essay about the play “The Crucible” and mass hysteria my sophomore year and i included the monkey man of new delhi as an example. nostalgia

OP you never considered it was just an Indian guy being creepy instead of a monkey? Specieist bigot.
6:46 I actually know the answer to this question!!! Bonobos are largely matriarchal and therefore their approach to all conflicts is to solve it with s3x. Meanwhile, chimpanzees are largely patriarchal and therefore their approach to solving conflicts involves extreme violence/fighting. I don't know if the actual environment lead to one group of monkeys favoring a matriarchy over the patriarchy and vice versa, but I know the reasons for their behaviors is because their social groups are run differently
Source: In my psych undergrad we talked a looooot about primates and this was one of the things that came up 😅
Edit: 9:20 I also can't believe Isaiah came so close to realizing Goku was based off Wukong 😭
If i had to guess I'd say the difference in favoring different leadership had to do with amount of food and other predators on the opposing sides of the river.
I wonder what this says about single parent households? Maybe nothing at all lol, but could be interesting
@@calemroberts2941 I dunno man, we're a species of ape but we're so soo different from bonobos
@@I_might_be_asj yeah, the more I've thought about it, maybe the comparison just isn't close enough.
They are also, gay as fuck. The conflict resolving doesn't discriminate and they will engage willingly in same gender sex. One study that followed a group of bonobo's had some crazy statistic that like 80+% engaged in homosexual activities, and not just for conflict resolving, bonobos just really like to get it on. I think it's just crazy that a species of ape can be so peaceful, and they are really closely related to us.
Also, maybe now people can fuck off saying that homosexuality isn't natural and that animals don't do it.

Agree, them yapping is half of the appeal of the show.
Almost like it's not just about the concept but the personalities. It's really annoying to see people comment saying they just want the facts
Jackson helped me live my life-long dream of being an Indian man
I like how Isaiah's name is centered, Caleb's is left-aligned and Jackson's is right-aligned
That is a nice touch.
My favorite story about Koko and her kitty is the time that Koko tore the sink off the wall in a fit of rage. When her keeper came in and noticed the disaster she signed to Koko "what happened?" To which Koko quickly pointed to her kitty and signed, "kitty did it." I don't even care if that story really happened (i know a lot of what was reported about Koko's language usage was exaggerated) i love it!❤🎉🙈🙉🙊
I will NEVER forget "THE MONKEY HAS COME."
Imagine you give and the last thing your hear is that
And at 41:11
That is some serious third-world level shenanigans. I bet they beat that one guy but didn't punch him, using that weird downward slap and long sticks that they raised above their heads all the way back before striking. Likely mobs of men ages 25 to 53 as well.
I always love that I get to thread my red before casting my creep.
8:43 I am genuinely and utterly shocked that Wendi hasn’t read Journey To The West. It seems like the kinda thing that’d be up his wheelhouse. It’s got everything you could ever want. A grand religious pilgrimage, and a very funny monkey that’s immortal seven times over.
Yeah no it was quite surprising to see. All three of them yes but especially wendigoon. Gotta put some respect on my boy Sun-wu-Kong’s name.
Jackson calling him garbo and not being corrected is wild
“9/11, Isaiah” *wedigoon laughs*
That was a Canon event in the gooniverse.
Hearing Creepcast mentioned in the Red Thread is like seeing both sets of grandparents in the same room.
Getting Oompa on after Charlie left is like when Top Gear brought on James May before making the greatest television ever produced in Britain. Keep up the good work, and I hope they find the monkey man soon!
Such a good comparison, I remember James May’s first episode where he reviewed his own Bentley. Top Gear pretty much permanently plays on my TV during the day lol I love it.
The clown hysteria happened when I was in my final year of highschool, and a friend and I were out trick or treating when we literally got chased down the street by a clown into a Starbucks. Several Ideas for new Episodes
- H.H. Holmes
- The Sinking of Scandies Rose
- 2010 Copiapo Mining Accident
- The Invasion of Panama (and psychological warfare. How they got Manuel Noriega to surrender)
- Pablo Escobar and the "Columbian Conflict"
- The Symbionese Liberation Army (apparently, they managed to brainwash a lady they kidnapped. IDK if you believe her or not though)
- The Weathermen or the Weather Underground (apparently, back in the day detonations were occurring on a weekly basis, and they only stopped when one of the devices detonated on them. Some say many of its members, having been coached in the university system in their early years, then reentered the university system at a later age as professors. Makes you wonder what they're up to now, or if they are or aren't as radical as they used to be in youth...)
- The Normalmstorg Robbery (Stockholm Syndrome)
- Juliane Koepke
- Reports of Ball Lightning (I don't know if anyone ever found an explanation for them. Interesting way to go into tangents on other freaky-looking phenomenon in electrical storms)
- The Lancashire (Pendle) Witches and the Witch Trial (This is a lesser known witch trial, compared to the Salem Witch trials, but interesting nonetheless. Project Gutenberg even has a book with a written account on the events of the trial. If you're looking for quotes, go there)
-Germanwings Flight 9525 (Really depressing, this story.)
-1993 Chuck E Cheese Murders (Situated in Aurora, Colorado. It was a mass "deletion" of employees by a disgruntled former employee during a night shift. It is a strange setting indeed, and some believed the event inspired the Five Nights At Freddy's games prior to the creator of the series dispelling the rumor as a coincidence)
-Lonnie Zamora Incident
-The Mountain Meadows Massacre (An incident nearly dating back to Utah's founding)
(Note: These cases likely come from India or surrounding countries. Again, lesser known, but if you're looking for more show ideas, or videos to expand your audience, this might be it)
- The Burari Deaths (Per the House of Secrets: Burari Deaths documentary)
- 2008 Noida Double Murder (Several investigating bodies had contradicting theories about the innocence or guilt of the suspects in question, the victims' parents. It was made into a Hindi Film called "Tavlar")
- Jiah Khan (Involves the mysterious murder of a rising Bollywood actress)
-Sredevi (Another death of a Bollywood actress, this time in Dubai, who somehow dies in a tub with only a slightly elevated blood alcohol content, which some suspect the occasion was foul play)
-Sushant Singh Rajput (A Bollywood actor whom police said commited self-deletion, hung to a cieling fan, of all places,. Some believe he was murdered, and others would commit copycat self-deletions, and it sparked a debate on nepotism in the industry. I'm probably missing or misunderstanding a few things, but it might be worth a look nonetheless)
(Something from the Phillipines)
- Aswangs (Malevolent shapeshifting creatures according to their folklore. One of which, the Manananggal Aswang, wouldn't be out of place in an actual modern horror film if you see its description)
Throwing a comment here so i can hopefully come back to this
Ok not done with the video but Sun Wukong was mentioned and I really love that guy he’s so funny so here’s a comprehensive list of things that Sun Wukong does in JTTW!
-Peed on the pillars of the universe, which is also the Buddhas hand
-was trapped underneath a mountain for 500 years
-is seven times over immortal, all of which except for the seventh being illegal in some way
-his first immortality was entirely illegal just because of the method, to circumvent this Wukong learned how to shapeshift!
-his second immortality was him erasing his name from the book of death in the underworld
-his third fourth and fifth immortalities happened because he raided a peach festival and got drunk
-helped his two male friends get abortions
-got so pissed off that he was put at the lowest possible rank in the hierarchy of heaven that he beat the shit out of everyone, left, then demanded they give him the title of “great sage equal to heaven”
-killed a guy who was essentially omnipotent
-nearly got his friends arrested and killed out of spite
-tricked some assholes into drinking pee by impersonating a deity they worshiped and claiming it was holy water
-and so much more!
This has made me so happy. I have very little exposure to his legacy, but I am already a big fan of Sun Wukong, the Great Sage Equal To Heaven
Sun Wukong is a DnD murder hobo before it got old.
Wukong itself is very similar to Hanuman, a Sanatan/Hinduism god. Since a lot of Buddhism came from Hinduism, you will find many similarities between them.
One of the world's first edgey Mary Sues, right up there with Gilgamesh's antics
Technically, you are peeing in Buddhas hand every day too. That is why the monkey man is being silly.
