Nice video! I will be travelling for a month to Europe and I was wondering for how long did you travel and if the bag let you fill it enough to do a long trip without compromising its dimensions for overhead storage. I´m not sure if I should buy a 40L or a 50L bag. Thank you
So my trip was nine days, I did have to take some stuff out of the top of the bag to make it fit in overhead storage a 40 liter you might not have to, however 40L for a month may be a bit tight. I care extra camera gear though so maybe not depending on your packing. Hope this helps! Have a great trip.
I have a 55 a xs/s frame . Do you think I could make it fit as a carry on . Since your 50 did I was just wondering if I don’t put anything on the top it could work out .
It’s possible. It really depends on this size of the metal frame inside your pack. You should be able to feel it running along the back of your pack. If it doesn’t go up too high then it might be okay.
A little yes. On smaller overhead storage bins such as those of budget airlines I had to remove the stuff from the top of the pack, but I was still able to get it to fit.
Hey, I'm considering this pack, but wondering if the lid can be completely removed? Or is it permanently attached on one side. thinking if it can be removed then it might help with the airline carry-on situation. Thanks!
This backpack can fit like carry on luggage? Because im gonna flight in some low cost airlines inside of Europe, and i need to know this backpack can fit. Thanks
So completely full mine measured in at roughly 30 inches(76cm) tall, 13 inches (33cm) wide at the base of the pack, and 12 inches (31cm) deep also at the base. This is for the L/XL version of the pack, with every pocket filled. According The North Face's website the dimensions are L/XL: 27.6" x 11.8" x 11.8" (70 cm x 30 cm x 30 cm). Hope this helps.
As far as travel backpacking I think it is big enough to last as long as you want if minimally packed. As far as backcountry backpacking I would guess 2-3 days. Mostly due to lack of room for extra stuff, food mostly. I've made a packing list and with everything it is a pretty tight fit.
Yeah he Adventures and go getters I have a Terra 60 North Face with the rigid insert with the aluminum reinforcement straps in the rigid sleeve is tapered and goes into the back of the backpack for rigidity obviously but I don't know which way to put the the slip support in whether it's the thinner end towards the bottom or the top and the bands are very specific for your back can somebody shoot me a video or something like that and tell me how to get that in certain back
That bag itself isn't water proof and doesn't come with a rain cover . The North Face does sell the rain cover separately this bag is a size large it costs $25. I've only had to use the cover once and it worked well, kept my bag dry.
I just recently purchased this same pack for my first backpacking trip in Colorado. Thanks for sharing! 👌
Awesome! Let me know how it goes.
It is not very light but quite comfortable loaded. Exceptional quality, as expected from North Face.
Great review, want to see more stuff like that. Helped me a lot in picking a pack
Thanks Daniel! I really appreciate the feedback.

did you had issues with the aluminium bar in the back panel, in carry-on situations???
A little yes. On smaller overhead storage bins such as those of budget airlines I had to remove the stuff from the top of the pack, but I was still able to get it to fit.
Tree City Collective any issues with getting that metal bar inside the plane?, or any issues with the luggage “scanner” before boarding
@@mamb321 I didn't have issues with either of those things. It's less of a bar and more of a thin metal plate.
@@DansVoyage oooh I get it, thank you very much!!!

+Steven Quayle unfortunately the lid does not come off.
another question: would this fit on the overhead storage on planes?
Yes it does, however on some airplanes that have smaller overhead storage you may need to remove items inside the top compartment to make it fit.

I️ flew Air Iceland with no problems. You can always take a bit out of the bag if needed as well.
good review, very helpful
can you specify the exact dimensions after filling it completely ? all the webstores are providing different specs . thanks

hi, 1 question, is the rain cover included?
Unfortunately not, you have yo buy it separately. I think it costs around $30.
How much does it weigh??
Is there vertical almunium channel
Yes, there is a vertical aluminum frame. It’s more of a plate than a tube. It runs the majority back. The same area as the padding.
how many days this backpack do you think is it for?

Does this pack have side access into the main compartment?
Unfortunately it does not. I believe the Terra 65 pack does, but this feature was dropped for the 50.
Voyagest okay cool that's really good to know

That I’m not suite sure. I’ve never messed with the backing on mine.
I am just 1.67 meter in height, is it difficult to carry this backpack ?
If you get the S/M size you should be okay. It’s only 2cm shorter, but other than that the dimensions are the same.
thank you for your feedback
water proof?

thanks.
The 30 liter version has water bottle pockets on the sides but this one doesn't? And the 50l has hipbelt pockets while the 30l doesn't..
This 50L pack does have water bottle holders on the sides.
