      I wanted to ask you something, actually. I'm always currious what reasons people have to watch a video. You've thad the backpack for quite some time, so I wonder what inspired you to watch this video? Maybe your answer can help me create more content like this that would be useful for people when they already own the gear. Thank you again for watching :)

    Love that the rain co-starred, in time, for the backpack review. Nice review!

      Yes, the rain played nicely. It was suppose to rain RIGHT while I was talking to my parents in Germany, but instead, it waited an extra hour or two so I could get set up outside :D

    Very good review, I am a big fan of North Face, the lifetime guarantee is also a fantastic reason enough to buy. ( My experience with the free repair service on zipper of 2 coats was excellent.)

      @@adventuresandreams Short weekend hiking and overnighters. It's too heavy of a pack to use on long trails even though at my age long trails are probably in my past. For distance I use a 40 liter pack that weighs 26 ozs. With food and water my pack a everages under 20 lbs. Its a young adult pack, that cost me $2.50. New they're 60 to 80 $'s. Its shown on my past videos. Green and black pack.

    • @adventuresandreams
      @adventuresandreams  2 роки тому +1

      Hi Aubri, thanks for watching my video. I'm glad it was helpful :) I bought the size M/L for myself. I'm 168 cm (5.5') tall if that helps you decide. Also, you can adjust the torso length quite well, so even if you're somewhere in the middle of those two sizes, you will very likely be OK. As for the rain cover, I just bought a one-size-fits-all one. That's all The North Face offered at the time. I like that it's a bit bigger because I don't have to fight putting it on, and I can have extra gear in my side pockets and the rain cover still fits over all of that.

    This is a really helpful review! What size of the Terra 55 do you have? I am considering buying the women's model but there is no size guide on their website so I'm not sure whether to get the XS/S or M/L. If anyone can tell me what size they bought and their height/torso measurements that would help me work out what I need!

    • @adventuresandreams
      @adventuresandreams  2 роки тому +1

      Hi Jess, thanks for watching my video. I 'm glad you liked it. :) I bought M/L for myself. I'm 168cm (5.5') if that helps. It's very easy to adjust the torso length with their Optifit feature, so even if you buy the wrong size, you will likely still be able to use it. I hope this helps. You will like the backpack for sure, especially the newer version that fixed some of the problems that mine has.

    Hi there i'm looking to buy the backpack for men but it asks me to pick s/m or L/XL what type of sizing is it for?

    • @adventuresandreams
      @adventuresandreams  3 роки тому +1

      This size refers to your torso length and a few other measurements. The shoulder straps slide up and down to have the perfect fit for you, but it only goes so far. I'm not sure where you're buying the backpack from, but you can check out the difference between S/M and L/XL here. It is in inches, you'll have to convert it if you are used to the metrics system. Good luck and let me know how it goes! :) The pack is great. www.rei.com/product/894629/the-north-face-terra-65-pack

      @@adventuresandreams ok thanks, i'm a male 5'3 weigh 130lb i have an 18" torso... just ordered a s/m. Got a small discount on this bag so after tax $233 Canadian, hope this bag is the one!! Ordered a 38L gregory stout and for some reason it looked like a decent size online but when it came it was so small for a 38l... hope this terra 55 is the one plus the quick side zipper sealed the deal for me to order it i think that is way more better then the bottom zipper for quick access.

    • @adventuresandreams
      @adventuresandreams  3 роки тому

      @@manchuk1d Awesome. I'm glad the info helped. The 55L is great for weekend backpacking in the warmer months. I've used it for a 3-night trip in early Spring, and that was pushing its limits for sure. Yeah, 38L is pretty small. The photos online always look more impressive :D

    • @manchuk1d
      @manchuk1d 3 роки тому

      @@adventuresandreams it looks like your 55l is an older version the terra 55 i ordered has no 2 front zips but instead it's just a strechy pocket on the front... hmm i don't do winter backpacking only mid fall and spring mostly as a traveling backpacking, ugh i don't get why it doesn't come with a rain cover now i have to go look for a decent priced one or wait for the north face cover to be in stock again..

    • @adventuresandreams
      @adventuresandreams  3 роки тому

      @@manchuk1d Your updated model is definitely better. It should also have an adjustable hood that has straps in the back. Mine is fixed, and I can't pile things on top of the pack. Yeah, the rain cover is a pain for sure, but any cover for that size pack will fit. They are pretty big. In a pinch, you can also take a big trash bag with you and pack everything in it, basically use it as a liner inside your pack.

    is this suitable for men as well?

    • @adventuresandreams
      @adventuresandreams  3 роки тому

      Hi Rebe, sorry for the late reply. I was out on a trip :) That's a good question. I would say if you are not too tall and have a shorter torso, it would work. The torso height can be adjusted quite well, but I suggest trying it on if you can. There are also multiple sizes available that are unisex. I hope that helps. :)

    • @adventuresandreams
      @adventuresandreams  4 роки тому

      This one is for women, yes, but they do have this model for men as well. I believe that the difference is in the padding on the hips and the torso length, but honestly, they are so adjustable that they can be worn by anyone.
