- Philippines Fest is the first street vendor festival of Filipinos and Filipino-Americans founded in New York City. It will take place on Sunday, May 21, on 5th Avenue between 10th and 11th streets in Park, Slope Brooklyn. Augleyn and Daniel Joseph Corpuz joined PIX11 Morning News to discuss the festival.
I admire Hazel Sanchez for not forgetting her Filipino ancestry and proud of these young Fil-Ams who are introducing Filipino culture to the US. Mabuhay po kayo!
OMG yummmm!!! I absolutely love Filipino food. I can't wait to eat authentic Filipino food when I go home to the Philippines.
I just had Calamansi juice and Ukoy and Sinigang NA Hipon for lunch and the leftover Ukoy for dinner.,. Ay naku … the best 🇵🇭 Chow down people!!!
The market is amazing!all the foods is absolutely super delicious ❤❤❤
He is so well-spoken. I love it.
Intestine skewers(isaw) is one of my favorite street food, eating it before I go home. And fried quail eggs(kwekkwek) and skewered clotted chicken blood(betamax). All of it are quite popular in the city and you will see alot of people eating it in the streets. I just always wonder why they don't serve those things in restaurants serving Filipino dishes.
The way she started her sentence with “basically” and her pronunciation of “piece” is so Filipino. 😅
Yeah non-Filipinos would think it's "piss"...
@@HachikoThePoochInugami I'm Filipino and I thought she said "piss." A good way to start a dish 😆
I watch him in school of chocolate. Such a talented person at a young age. Very inspiring.
Yes!!! Always do this every year 🎉🎉🎉

I noticed lately sa iba't ibang news or tv show dito sa US, na feature nila about pinas, be it festival like so, food etc etc. events. dati naman di nila pinapansin. I think it has some political reason kasi marami na ang military presence nila sa pinas at need nila ang pinas para sa bases nila. Btw, yun babae na host mi lahi pinay.
It's been like that even before the military presence. Dumadami naman talaga na ang presence ng Pinoy sa US. Dito sa New York, dati mabibilang mo lang yung mga Pinoy restaurants, ngayon may mga nagbubukas lang na hindi mo na alam.
Proud Pinoy!
❤
i love how the host can't resist tasting the lumpia.
That lumpiang shanghai is must try as always!
Daniel!!!!i watch you on netflix. ❤❤
I saw a video here on YT where a senior Filipino couple who were lounging in front of their house in an open garage attacked by a man. The face of the husband was badly beaten. The attacker was caught and was charged with MISDEMEANOR. Anybody came across that news that was reported by ABS-CBN ? How long ago was that?
Yummy 😋 Yum Yum 😋.
Lumpiang Shanghai and pansit for the win!
♥️🥰♥️
wow its a big wow..mabuhay ang pilipinas
Congrats 🎊
❤❤❤🎉
Did i hear a japayuki?
Calamansi, pineapple and coconut juice all that 3 are the mean juice in the Philippines...
Also sago and melon
A small pish 🐟
yummy!
anything for VEGETARIANS?
You’d be lucky if they have “laswa”, it’s all thick veggie stew, mainly okra, alugbati(spinach) and squash, or “fresh lumpia” which is different from the fried lumpia, it’s filling is bamboo shoots and carrots as several of the ingredients, and “tortang talong” or eggplant fritters that goes well with banana ketchup or vinegar and all these dishes go with a rice
"Bulanglang" on other places and also
Veggie dishes without meat ingredients "ginisang gulay" sautéd vegetables base onion and garlic
No, they are heavy meat eater.
Their vegetarian dish has a pork toppings
@@Alibadbad not all dishes has meat. But there is possibility of poultry (eggs) or other dairy products. What you see are foods on internet and UA-cam, there are a lot of local dishes has no meat.
Filos are carnivores but the veggies they cook are grass and what nots but very delicious too
longganisa skewers? it’s too savory if you’ll eat it without rice .. I’ve been living in the Philippines and I’ve never seen it sold here in the street market 😂
🇵🇭🇵🇭🇵🇭🍻🍻🍻🍾🍾🍾
The right food in the Philippines is chicken feet we call adidas, chicken head, chicken intestine, chicken blood,,kwek kwek, siomai, squid ball
eating lumpia while doing the interview 😅🤭😋🤭
Da aksent is so jenwin
Why is the good stuff in NYC. I honestly don’t want to be there 😭😭
Isaw, banana cue, kamote cue
Ube
Phillipines is essentially an american state but just not in name. we colonized them brutally and basically enslaved and dehumanized their people while denying them so many of the basic rights enshrined
But McDonald's is the best.

Puto at kuntsinta sana
Wow! Nice presentation, pero si Ate parang walang suklay pagakain panaman ang pinag-usapan, sana tinali nalang ang buhok..
Wtf ......this is America..
So?
Whats the problem colonizers?
Better than shooter America
At usually pag nasa US kana di masyado napupuna english mo dahil takot yung iba na tawagin racist kaya di masyado ulit naayos yung english.
Filipino feast looks yummy. But beware eating them. Some people might get sick eating from it (i.e food poison). Most of their foods are not gluten free, contained MSG and artificial food coloring.
Huh? 🤣 MSG? Filipino Cuisine’s Holy Trinity is sautéing Garlic, Onions & Ginger. Therefore, no MSG needed. Food Coloring? We use Ana-to Seeds to color our foods. 😂🙄🤷🏻♂️
any Filipino food you can mention using food coloring? Ube or purple yam doesn't need food coloring...mango shake as well...maybe Rice cake or locally known as Puto...
Ahahahah no foodcoring needed ...
All of the food coloring came from annatto seeds that where grind and made into powder.
Oh my nagugutom ako, I better go to Dollar Hits at Woodside to get my skewers. Brooklyn is too far from Queens.
They should had spoken about Pag Pag. Teach people how resourceful our people are, and how garbage meals can still taste nice.
kayo lng nman kumakain ng pagpag.
Very rude of you. Indeed, those salvage foods exist but those foods are precious to them, their sustenance to survive the cruelty of the world. Instead of belittling them (all the poor people of the world) and ruining Filipino cuisine...help them. Be humane.
only the unprivileged filipinos from manila metro eats pagpag just 0.01% of the Filipino population ...
@@czandriyeaduchannes9078 hindi yan filipino teh baka indonesian yan usually sila tumatawag satin ng pagpag
@@aforadorable6006 skwater nyo kasi kaya ayan nilait tayo 😂😂😂
