Just found your channel, and I subbed immediately when I noticed there were only two skippable ads in a 12-minute video, and no product placement ads. Very respectable.
Just grabbed a card holder wallet in tan from The Leather Shop for myself and my dad liked so much, I got him one for Christmas! Beautiful fullgrain saddle leather, hand stitched, and brass rivet. Minimal, durable, functional, and very beautiful for an insane price!
Buying a wallet is such a hard thing to do that seems like it should be so simple. There are so many considerations to be made that it can become overwhelming. I eventually went with a very slim bifold from Trask. Love that thing.
Front left pocket. I used to keep it in my back left, but I was having back problems and I friend suggested keeping it in a front pocket to straighten my spine while I sit. My back has been much better for the past 10 years.
I'm a left back pocket guy unless I'm in a big city, in crowds of people, then it's in my front pocket. Thanks for showcasing different styles and options. I appreciate the videos you create.
@@saepark4182 It's pretty good but not worth $65 in my opinion. Mostly because it was made it China. However, it is a cool wallet and yes the cards stay in when you shake it. I've had it for a little over a month and I've had no problems with mine except for when I shake it really hard, one card slightly pushes out, but I fixed that by just rotating the order I put my cards in every once in a while. The eject function still works properly too, no issue there!
I searched widely for a nice leather minimalist wallet, and I settled on the hand-made Taurus Camp wallet out of Singapore with full-grain Italian vegetable tanned leather. The design is unique and simple. It's a single piece wrapped around itself with minimal stitching, and it has a small flap that covers the tops of the cards (which can help keep dirt off of business cards). It is shaped very ergonomically where a quick thumb movement flips open the cover. There are three pockets with degrees of quick access, and a fourth pocket for folded bills, but it's still a very slim front- or back-pocket wallet made in a range of colors in leather that is soft, smells good, and will develop a beautiful patina.
Just recently got a wallet from Rose Anvil, a small US leather company, and absolutely love it. Amazing craftsmanship and quality. Also, I like the design. The card slots show a bit more of the card, so it's really easy to identify the one you want.
I’ve been collecting wallets for about 2 years. I can say my favorite company without a doubt is Open Seas. The leather quality and craftsmanship is unmatched. Lost Dutchman is also very nice. Bellroy is great.
I’ve tried a bunch of wallets in the last year or two. My favorites- Open Sea Topsider Quickdraw (absolute go to), Allett Sport in Leather and Singular leather wallet (high capacity). Schnail Atlas is a great budget choice.
I recommend open seas leather co wallets, is very minimal, unique and handcrafted. Can choose leather and stitching colors so its very customizable, one piece leather construction with just one seam of thick hand stitching.
My sister gave me a "genuine leather " wallet when I was in around middle school and now having been out of high-school for several years the wallet is structurally absolutely fine. Still holds cards well and the fold doesn'tseem damaged. It has some wear marks here and there but overall It was a good gift. Been using it regularly for around 6 years and intermittently for the 2+ before that . Wish I had more.
Just bought from anson and I love it. Yoi are correct, forcing to arrive less cards helps keep things cleaner and easier. The quality is top notch. I went with card holder with cash slot in grey with my initials. I love it!
TLDR Front pocket is more secure, and healthier for your back I carry my wallet in my front, weak-side pocket, keys and phone strong side. 1: sitting on your wallet will elevate one hip higher than the other, leading to hip, back and potentially even shoulder and neck problems. Also, there are significantly few nerve endings on the back of the hips compared to the appendix, so carrying it in the hip pocket leaves you more vulnerable to pickpocketing. In high school, my dad convinced me to make some small purchase while we were out, only for me to almost soil myself when it was missing; he had picked it from my pocket some minutes prior (granted i also wore oversized pants at the time due to growth spurts). In that same vein, the human body is designed to bend forward more often than backward, this can cause your wallet to fall out of your hip pocket during certain movements or tasks, and you're less likely to realize that it has fallen out for the aforementioned reason.
I went with a carbon fiber wallet from Ridge and I love it. I switched mainly because I can’t find a wallet like the money clip I have. I use it if I am going out and want to dress up
I carry my wallet in the best place possible which is an inside pocket of my jacket and with it zipped up it is out of bounds for practically everyone except a really really good pick pocket because no pocket is unpickable some are just a lot harder to pick from
I am all about the minimal wallets. Ive had a travelambo slim wallet for about 4 years now. It’s held up great with probably excessive wear and tear from being stuffed with work documents, my normal items and a physical job. I keep it in my front pocket and it’s small enough to forget it’s there.
I bought the Harrison Australia billfold based on your video with Modest Man. I love it. It’s slim and minimalist, which is what I was looking for. I keep it in my front pocket of my pants unless I’ve got a jacket on, then I put it in the inside chest pocket.
I have been carrying my cardcase for the past 2y, I barely touch my leather bifold or canvas cardcase as well as it has not broken in yet - which is why I am just on cardcase.
Buying the multiple wallet tip is true. Have had an Amity wallet I got from my brother over 10 years ago and haven't been able to find one like, every so often I look in ebay if there are any of the same model floating around
It wasn't mentioned in the video but I carry a Ridge Wallet. I've carried it for two years and although it's taken a bit of a beating, it's a very durable wallet. I carry quite a few cards, more than what Jon looks like he carries, so it fits my needs better. Plus, it also blocks RFID signals, being the cautious fella I am. Ridge Wallet's are held together by elastic and the two bits of metal on either side and I am very much intrigued by their model of making a wallet that's "rebuildable." That's also the reason I'm weary of the Ekster brand because there's a lot parts which don't look as easy to replace or swap out.
You should see the Serman Brands 3.0, its full grain leather, more compact, solid construction, low price, and for me, better design than all of those in this video.
My current wallet is from Meermin. Usually $50, I got it free with two belts. Before that, I had one from Lake House Leathers I got for like $11 or something ridiculous like that, and it was great. It patina'd over time, that was cool.
Ive had my Rick and Morty wallet that I got from 5 to 7 years ago and has a lot of wear and tear but still going. Im here because Im considering about getting a new one since i got mine from wish but still held on for quite longer than i expected having a product coming from wish
I have had a bad experience with my slim wallet. If you ever fill it too much, it gets permanently deformed & the sleeves become so loose that you have to keep it packed thick so that your cards don’t fall out. I once gently tossed this wallet 3 ft away from me & every card went flying out. I have just been too lazy to try to find a good replacement
I have always had a tri-fold wallet that I carry in my back pocket but, I will occassionally put in my front pocket if I am in a crowded area where pick pockets may potentially be. I do need a new wallet and am considering a bi-fold. My wallet is probably close to 20 years old and it is genuine leather.
Yes, they put RFID in wallets... now they can identify radio frequencies... Good video overall just the RFID section is mostly wrong and what you meant to say was that wallets have RFID ''blockers'' in them that are kind of useless since cards don't really use RFID for transmission anymore, and those a bit older that still have RFID are protected, so criminals can't skim them, but even if you still have the really old unprotected RFID cards, criminals won't buy expensive equipment and wait days to get that 1 or 2 people who would go booty dance on them so they can scan and get so few benefits that do not even cover the equipment cost. So in a nutshell RFID blocking in wallets is something wallet makers put in just to charge you more money for no real reason.
Axess Front Id Wallet is my go to. Have used it for years and has held up well. Good price point i'd say, and just overall a great wallet worth checking out
I'm one of those monsters who wears a sling bag, even though I have just a minimal card holder that fits 4 cards. It just works out better with the phone, earbuds, pen, hand sanitizer and emergency masks.
I'm really partial to card wallets. After searching for a while, I ended up with Harber London. Highly recommend it, great quality and just an outstanding minimal design. I got the RFID Card Holder, for reference.
I need something that doesn’t slide out of my pocket. Maybe something grippy. I’ve lost my wallet at work when changing into scrubs. That’s all I care about.
J. Man, where’s the link to the American by choice? Thanks again for another round up this is one I’m stuck on. After I stopped wearing a chain wallet... don’t judge I’m older and it was a thing, I moved to front right pocket and haven’t looked back. Always kept it in my front pocket for safety. But I don’t carry a wallet anymore. I live in Shanghai and everybody uses phone to pay for everything. Many places don’t even take cash. I still have it though,it’s a Belroy wallet and very well made.
