  • Pochuck Mountain Shelter (mi. 1354.3) to Stealth tent site (mi. 1371.3) Hit the trail this morning at 0630 to try to beat the heat, it wasn’t quite as hot today. The heat index didn’t get over 100 at least ha ha ha. Quite a bit more elevation today, nothing crazy, but certainly not the flatness that made the 20 miles easier yesterday. Zeke and I hiked about 6 1/2 miles to come to our first road crossing after a long bog walk, which was very pretty. We didn’t have any idea that there was a market/greenhouse/gardening supply company about 1/10 or two down the road. We made our way down there and had ice cream, fruit, donuts and of course plenty to drink. From then on the day was a bit of a grind, but we did get lucky and caught a hitchhike to a pizza shop and indulged in two large slices of pizza, and of course more to drink. We headed back to the trail and found a pretty decent stealth site not far across the New Jersey New York border, another state down! It feels good to be in my tent and laying down pretty close to seven. The last few nights had been late. Looking forward to seeing what tomorrow brings in our new state of New York!
Todays menu: A large orange, 1/4 of a watermelon, five 20 oz. Gatorades, package of pop tarts, can of mountain lightning, can of root beer, can of grape soda, 2 large slices of pizza, 2 small packs of peanut butter cookies, freeze dried meal, kiddie ice cream cone, and water.

That boardwalk was pretty cool! Looked like some nice terrain for the feet. 😆 Yummy looking raspberries! 😍

Yes, it was definitely great to not have to worry about stubbing my toes for a while 😂 They were very good, but not quite as sweet as the ones in Maine!
