- Mike Veeck grew up in the shadow of his hustler father, Hall of Fame baseball owner Bill Veeck. The Veeck name became both legendary and notorious in professional baseball as they introduced the fun at ballparks - giveaways, theme nights, fireworks, and more. But it all came to a screeching halt when Mike blew up his father's career. Exiled from the game he loved, the younger Veeck spent the next few decades clawing his way up from rock bottom, determined to redeem himself. After receiving distressing news, what started as a journey to reclaim the family legacy, became an opportunity to appreciate that family more fully. Directed by Academy Award winner Morgan Neville (20 Feet From Stardom) and Jeff Malmberg (Marwencol), narrated by Jeff Daniels, and featuring Charlie Day as a younger Veeck, The Saint of Second Chances is wildly unexpected, full of heart, and keeps you laughing through a comeback story unlike any other.

I turn 65 next month and was at Disco Demolition Night with my girlfriend at the time. Before cellphone cameras, I happened to have a camera with me and have the pics to prove I was there. Yes I did go out on the field (didn’t join in on the destruction). A lifelong White Sox fan, I always thought it was a momentous event in my life but now feel a little off about being there after seeing the doc. Hats off to Mike Veeck and his family. What a great story and a terrific guy who got knocked down and got back up again. Love to have a beer with him sometime.
Baseball is full of crazy stories that are more than just about baseball. This is one of them.
I met Mike a few years ago with Bill Murray. The guy is just flat out good for baseball. Bravo, Night Train.
Loved the doc! Inspiring story about an inspiring person, and a true gift to american sports
If you can finish this doc without crying, you ain't human. Fact.
This was an amazing documentary. Truly one of the best ive seen in a long time.
As a St.Paul Saints fan I’m very excited for this.
An amazing documentary. Made me cry at the end about Rebecca
I just watched this and if that don`t win an award. I am dumber than I thought. I am from Namibia and love sport. That is an amazing inspiring story. That was for me time well spend. a Big like from me.
This Looks Great.
We Want MINDHUNTER Season 03. Please Netflix
The people who made the show didnt want to move forward with it. Not on Netflix at all
The best movie I’ve watched in quite a few years. Had me laughing out loud and crying.
Loved this on Netflix!
So good. So addicting.

Looks great
I have to complement him👍
Wayne "Twig" Terwilliger managed my Fort Worth Cats team & my buddy & I went to St. Paul to see the Cats win the championship with Twig as first base coach. Shame St. Paul lost that great ballpark the way I saw it. All I got to say is, "TRAIN".
Definitely miss Midway.
Name that pig, memory only allows me to remember "Keven Bacon". Anybody remember any others?
Look good movie
What is the name of the song in the 2nd half of the trailer? Does anyone know? Great tune😀
Think JJ Cale… another one was Bobby bland
Oh but what's the title of the song that starts around the 1 minute mark? Sounds more like a JJ Cale song...but I still can't find it on any of his albums.
Netflix has been working on so many movies lately. I’m just surprised
Anyone know the song at the end of the trailer?
Ang when is Julie and the phantoms season 2 comind?
How can I be a translator on Netflix? Korean + English to Arabic!

Long before the Savanah Bananas and "Banana Ball" the Saints were doing it weirder and crazier and playing REAL baseball games, unlike the BS versions being played for the TikTok generation.
I was a part of it
I was proud to be part of it
This should be on every baseball fans viewing list -- Top 5. Articulates exactly why MLB is no longer any fun.
Are you stealing or falsely claiming copyright from Popcorned Planet about the Jonny Depp trial?
Raise your hand if you've been watching Netflix for a long time🤚
Raise your hand if you have way too much time on your hands LOL

Stop with this BS, you sick people! What the hell do you win from all of this?
LITERALLY NOTHING
Y'all are sick and twisted!
A hustler isn't a con man, a hustler is a BUSINESS man :P

Is it just me or does that thumbnail look AI-generated?

Drunk History did an episode on the Disco Sucks event Veeck was a part of. It was a very racially motivated event…
Exactly how was it a racially motivated event? The Veeck family were big civil rights activists and quite egalatarian.
Please
@@sandranartowicz3368If you really want to stretch things, Disco was proportionally more popular with black people than white people, so therefore the anti disco movement just had to be racially motivated. The fact that Disco was bland, overproduced monotony that was stifling creativity in the music business was just a trivial coincidence.
Amazing video and thank you for breaking it down!! Despite the financial instability all over the world, I’m so excited I’ve been earning $65,000 from my $10,000 investment every 10days...*
Thanks for posting! With this system, I managed a net worth of over $500,000 in the first month! I started with $10 million, but, you know, easy come easy go. Next, teach me how to meet hot women in my own area. I’m standing by with my credit card.
netflix documentaries are so damn amateur...the reenactments are laughable
Mine is real
The reenactments are a small part of the documentary; short segments to fill in the story. The bulk of the documentary is actual videos and photos with a heavy dose of Mike Veeck narrating his own story. I thought it was well done and very entertaining.
