    Many thanks Joe. I've always found your tutorials to be first class, but this time you have been a life saver. Couldn't work out why one of my flashes suddenly stopped firing. I'd accidentally changed it from RX to TX mode. :)

    Well done Joe. I just received my 2-YN560IV's and a YN560TX and was struggling through the manuals when I decided to see if anyone had done video. Your quick video helped me get everything up and running and gave me a pretty good understanding on how to get them all to play nice together, and I thank you for that. Still not sure exactly how to utilize the zoom function so I'll need to read up on that. Certainly appreciate the time you took to create this helpful video!!!

    This is just perfect tutorial. I keep returning to this since I don't use my Yongnuo's so often. I especially like that Joe keeps start of his video very compact. There are far too many tutorials and other videos out there where you have to scroll to the middle of video to get into business

    I did a off camera flash workshop recently. On the workshop the tutor used these flashes. We was advised that we should buy the YN-560 IV. I was quite surprised at the images considering that the flash unit is inexpensive. I have now bought one from Amazon. Your explanation was clear, concise and to the point. Thank you, Joe for taking the time to upload this detailed step by step demo and explanation.

      So I have a quick question. When the Yn560-IV is in transmitter mode, is it possible to have it function solely as a transmitter? I have 1 560 iv and 2 560 iii's and I want to see if I can use my IV to control the flash on the iii's without firing the flash on my iv. Does that make sense? And is that possible? My understand was that the iv serves as a transmitter, I just wasn't sure if I am going to have to just go and buy a transmitter. Thanks for the help!

    • @BadWeber
      @BadWeber 7 років тому +1

      Actually, it looks like while in TX mode it does just what I was hoping it would do. So does this mean that while in TX mode it does not fire the flash at all then? Or is there a way to make them all go off? Or for that would you just do regular mode putting the others in slave?

    • @JoeJacksonJr
      @JoeJacksonJr  7 років тому +1

      Yes you can shut the flash off on the unit and use it only to trigger the other flash units.

    Excellent video! I just purchased my second yn560iv and truly enjoy them. My first one did get stuck on full power using a Sony a7r but it singeing replaced. Gave me a reason to get a second as I needed an ofc using the 560tx for a shoot prior to the replacement being here. My question is what would you use Multi for? Like in what scenario?

      +Enfe Thanks for commenting. Multi flash is great for when you want to take a series of photos per se, yet only one actual photo. For example I have a tutorial coming up I am working on. Where my model will flip her hair back very fast and I want to take 3 shots and combine them into one. Well this is actually very easy with multi flash. For example I will set my flash to strobe 3 times in less then a second. Then I will set my cameras exposure to be open for 1 second. So when we fire the flash, the final photo will have 3 shots in one photo. Much like a dance club with strobe lights, which actually is pretty much exactly what it is. The actual hardest part of this is getting our timing down right. I should be releasing this tutorial about Apr 21st. Cheers, Joe

    great video, would have been nice if you explained what the slave modes and stuff were too. and why you would use burst flashes instead of a single flash (i'm guessing like a moving strobe effect?)

      I actually did make videos on them as they deserved their own video for explanation.

    Hi Joe,
    Thanks for the video. Can you use the flash on it's own or do you need the transmitter to use this flash? I can't seem to find a video to give me a clear answer. If you have one, showing how to sync it on its own to the camera, please link it in the reply to my comment. Much appreciate it!
