    Or you can open the top of charcoal shoot and place a grid there to sear your steak with out the ash falling on your meat

    I'm going to have to try this with the Char-Griller Gravity 980. I almost bought the Masterbuilt because you can flame grill directly in the chamber but the 980 does not shoot out flames like the Masterbuilt. I want to see if I can use the coals this way to char my meat.

    Bought one of these for my husband and it worked great for five cooks. After he smoked ribs on it the fifth time he used it the fan stopped working and the fan activation button melted as it was made of plastic! Great concept but needs some more development by Masterbuilt.

      I've had mine for two years and the only issue was that the manifolds are made of mild steel, which rusts really badly, so I replaced them with stainless steel aftermarket parts. Otherwise it still works perfectly.

    Welke bbq zou je eerder aanraden?
    Kamado joe trekt me heel erg, maar de masterbuild ook.
    Lees alleen over de masterbuild veel punten die niet zo goed zijn. Alleen lijkt het me heerlijk om het via een app je bbq te controleren.
    Of als je bij de kamado joe de ikomand gebruikt, heb je dan het zelfde effect?

      Ja dat had ik ook al gedacht. Zit alleen te denken dat masterbuild maar 1 jaar garantie heeft, en lees wel vaak dat dingen stoppen met werken enzo, en dat de klanten service ook niet zo geweldig is. Dat is eigelijk men grootste hekel punt :(

    • @marvinbolder3002
      @marvinbolder3002 3 роки тому

      Ik heb zelf een kamado big joe 3, maar zit zelf te denken om ook de masterbuilt aan te schaffen. Masterbuilt is een dochterbedrijf van kamado joe en zowel kamado joe als masterbuilt zijn erg innovatief, de reden dat ik een joe boven alle ander bbq’s gekozen heb. Heb inderdaad ook wel wat negatieve reviews gelezen mbt masterbuilt, maar meerdere positieve berichten. Misschien wachten op het volgende model als ze alle “kinderziektes” verbeterd hebben?

    • @Herobox-ju4zd
      @Herobox-ju4zd 3 роки тому

      @@mikeaandewiel Garantie moet je juridisch gezien niet al te serieus nemen. Als jij je apparaat gewoon normaal gebruikt, netjes stalt en goed schoonhoudt en je apparaat begeeft het toch na iets meer dan een jaar, ga dan gewoon naar de rechter en die zal Masterbuilt opdracht geven hem te repareren of te vervangen. Alle producten hebben een verwachte levensduur die vaak vele malen hoger is dan de garantie die je op zo'n product krijgt.

      And Snert, Raw Hering, bitterballen, frikandellen, stroopwafels, etc. Plus local delicacy’s like patatje zuur vlees in the south, rolmops in the west bakleverworst in the east. Plus a lot cultural influences from the colonial past like Beef Rendang. It’s from Indonesia you say? Well, that’s correct. But it’s there because the Dutch brought Indian curry paste to Indonesia and they had an exellant go on it. But back in those days it belonged to the Dutch Kingdom. And after Indonesia became independent a lost of citizens moved to the Netherlands and are now a part of our culture. Same goes for Surinam people. And slavery isn’t our proudest part of history. And they brought their own culinaire culture with them like Roti. And Roti originates again from India, since a great part of the Suriname population are form Hindustan slave origin on. Nothing funny about slavoury, but the fact that we still refer to native Americans as Indians because Columbus believed he discovered a new route to India back then and the fact that the Dutch actually brought real Indians from India to Suriname is ironic in a sad way. On the other hand, the cultural blend of Indian cuisine, African cuisine and native South American cuisine is delicious and one of a kind. Bad History, but some great cuisine came out of it…

Very simple reverse steak or just put that puppy to. 700 degrees and to top it off you had the griddle on the grill what a waste you definitely know that steak was not the greatest.

    I don’t think that would be a good broiler at all. All the ash falls in there and the fan blows the air up through the charcoal to the upper chamber so you have some heat coming downwards - but out weighed by all the ash in there and the cool air blowing over the meat

      A broiler is primarily infra red radiation, and infra red radiation is not the same as hot air. You're talking about hot air convection. Maybe you shouldn't comment on the physics of something you don't really understand.
