"The only things that can separate them are death and law". In this sentence "law" refers to the police (virkavalta). It's a pretty common Finnish idiom that people can only be separated by death or the police.

LEGENDARY Kari Tapio👑🎙️🇫🇮 He is one of the most successful Finnish singers of all time. He's called "Sinivalkoinen ääni" which translates to "The Blue and White Voice" and "Iskelmäkuningas" (Schlager King). He was a living legend and toured nearly 40 years. In 2000's he made nearly 5 million euros just singing. Sadly he passed away from a heart attack on 7th of December 2010, aged 65. His song "Myrskyn jälkeen" (After the storm) is also worth reacting to

You can sing this full drunk knowing any Finnish words, perfectly. The audience is drunk too they don't know the difference. The words are so impregnated into a memory all is needed is the tune.

I don't know whether "Guarda Che Luna" is a very popular song in Italy today, but there's a Finnish version of it called "Hopeinen Kuu", that is a very popular classic here in Finland! The part about law, it´s more of police separating when one of the friends is taken to jail when too drunk ;)
The translation is correct. The only thing that can separate Finnish friends is the death and the police/court (the law). The song uses instead of law the word "virkavalta", which is hard to translate. But basically it means the official coercive powers of the state, ie. the police and the courts of law (Including the border guard, military etc., you get the point). 😅
Virkavalta = the authorities, it is not hard to translate at all since there is a direct translatio, but it might be just less familiar word to many
You mentioned in the video that "probably suicide rate was pretty high." Well... This song is originally Toto Cutugno's "L'Italiano" (as you probably know), which Toto recorded in 1983. Quite soon after the original song's release, still in the same year, Kari Tapio recorded the Finnish version of the song, with lyrics by Raul Reiman.
Raul was, as I understand, a rather sensitive person. He wrote a lot of schlager songs, and especially the rock scene's disdainful attitude towards schlager music wounded Reiman. As work pressures increased, Reiman began to use more and more alcohol, and later tranquilizers also entered the picture. When intoxicated, Reiman repeatedly talked about suicide, and no one took the recurring speeches seriously anymore. Eventually, Reiman carried out his threat by taking an overdose of medication.
And this happened in 1987, just 4 years after the release of "Olen suomalainen." Reiman was only 36 years old at the time. One of the pallbearers, of course, was his friend Kari Tapio.

Translation of virkavalta as law is incorrect. It could be translated as "the law", but even that would be bit unclear. In this context virkavalta means the police. Directly translated virkavalta means official power(s).
You should watch the classic movie by Aki Kaurismäki "Rosso". Featuring this song in one of it's most famous scenes :)

Nice. Among Europeans the Italians seem to pick up Finnish pronunciation more easily than most.
As a sidenote: Kari's son Jiri played guitar in one the first speed/thrash metal bands in Finland. Their group was called "Stone" though It's not pronounced like the English "stoun" but exactly as it is written; "sto-ne". Excellent stuff from our early pioneers of metal👌.

You shouldn't wave you hands in the air. What you should do is get yourself a glass of beer, sit in a table alone and stare at the bottom of that beer glass. Just like the rest does.
