    I think this movie was part of the inspiration:
    Rumat, likaiset ja ilkeät (Brutti, sporchi e cattivi), Italia 1976. O: Ettore Scola

      Yes and it also is made very much to look like many of the Italian movies of that time, the golden days of Italian cinema.

    pretty impressive that they actually at least tried to speak italian at least the narrator. usually when comedy shows do skits about foreign people they just talk gibberish.

      I couldn't agree more. I wish they had put in the work to be able to pronounce every word correctly. It's cool as it is as the narrator speaks Italian intelligibly but spoken in 100% correct Italian, if in a slightly foreign accent, would've been super cool.

    Captain is drinking ”Lasol” which is a windshield cleaning fluid. It is known to be used by some of the ”spurgu”. It is dangerous to drink, because you might get blind or die. Though, it used to be way easyer for alcoholics to get, because there were no such strict limits on who can buy it.

    Il Spurgos translates to "the Drunkards". Spurgu is a slang term for drunkard :D Not especially good comedy by today's standards or even not nearly the best of Kummeli - but they did all kinds of stuff, making parody of everything they could.

      I think this is the best I've seen from them. A parody of old Italian films with an absurd and psychedelic touch.

    Yeah Kummeli definitely did also stuff that was not meant to be a sketch, but usually an absurd/grotesque parody of some genre. Most of the time those ones were not the greatest of quality and stemmed from their desire to do some more "serious" work. They had to push content on minimal budget for the longest time so some are definitely duds. So this one is some kind of a crossover between italian films (for no particular reason), some hob stuff (for no particular reason) and some macabre stuff about bodily functions. Probably a good reason why most of the Finns have not seen this one before :D

      and it's one of the earliest seasons, which at time got forgotten (later seasons had different style of even more minimal staging)

  • @penaarja

    Thats why sounded like Italian, because of pronoununsion I Finnish is (almost) like italian.

    • @markkujantunen8298
      @markkujantunen8298 3 місяці тому

      Well, Italian has fewer sounds that are completely alien to Finnish speakers than many other languages. But getting the melody right may take some practice. If you're learning Italian and want a good example, Inspector Montalbano is one. Montalbano's lines are spoken clearly and not too fast to get a hang of how the melody is supposed to work in every sentence from start to finish.
      Italy is one of those European countries with a large population where it's not guaranteed that even educated people always speak English. Partly this is why learning Italian would be useful for business. The Italian economy is the third largest national economy in the EU and the 7th largest in the world.
      Spain is another such country. In Portugal, they speak English more often. It's not as common in Germany as it is in smaller countries particularly in Northern Europe, either.
