youre not skilled, you either got really lucky, or just died repeatedly for pity RP like the rest of the playerbase at top tier stock. If you truly were skilled you would know why the stock grind is horrendous compared to previous metas.
Yeah but I don’t have time to get the knock off aim 120’s on the Barak 2 so when ever I want to play top tier I just get smashed immediately
As a, in my opinion, decent enough player, I could probably also stock grind the F-16C over a weekend. But it would be so much pain and in the end not worth the effort, when I could instead be flying planes I'm actually gonna enjoy. This is one of the best changes done in a while. I'll certainly go back to the F-16 once the update drops. You're just salty, stop whining.

It's the same step up as an AV-8+ at 13.0. Stock grind is gonna be interesting for sure. And the F-4F ICE has the same radar as an F-18, so complaining you have a gimped radar is total nonsense. You have a gimped flight model and excellent radar and excellent missiles.

@@francogaray2649 at 10.0 it's sht cause of all aspects and radar missiles, that's why it got moved to 9.3 in the first place. All aspects at low brs ruined everything.

6:32 the F8U-2 always had that. Above 950km/h you could pull full elevator for approximately 4 flashes of the extreme overload warning (around 1.5-2 seconds) before the wings would detach.
I absolutely love the f8u. I'm working on getting the French one now to really challenge myself since there's no flares.
That is because the extreme overload warning comes up around 10gs but after you hold the elevator for a while at speed the f8u will jump up to pulling 12-15gs which rips its wings
Yeah, once you master net-Ging it at the right times and avoiding wingrips, it is pretty much as powerful as the F8E. But at a lower BR and you really see the difference

the best way to fix compression would be to simply just reduce the ingame BR spread from 1.0 to 0.7, in other words going from a spread of 4 tiers in a match to 3. This would have a massive effect to improving balance and overall gameplay
Good changes, but one thing confuses me
The Tornados battleratings are all over the place:
The German premium Tornado and the tech tree one are at different BRs in air RB, despite the only difference being guided weapons which do not matter in air rb.
The Tornado F3 and the Tornado Gr.1 are also now both 11.7, when one has 2 missiles and the other has 8...
It just makes no sense

The Harrier GR.7 is the same BR as the AV-8B and Sea Harrier FA.2, despite only having 9Ms and no radar missiles.

@@The_Gaming_Hamster Which Su-25 for Ground RB? If you are referring to the Su-25 and Su25K at 10.0 they are definitely not overpowered. The plane lacks a targeting pod and the laser designator you get on it does not zoom at all and you have to keep that laser within such a small scope in the front of your plane which cannot even look down that much or at all to the sides so you can never get a BVR kills with the laser missiles. Even if you have a teammate scout the enemy player you cannot see from such a distance that you are trying to kill, you still have to fly in the direction you fired that missile and by the time the missiles reaches its target it still puts you within the range of most 10.0+ IR and Saclos SPAAs.
You could alternatively fly low and pop up last second firing a big 50kg explosive S-25O rocket at targets within visual range and break off. To that I say, yes it's quite OP but since its only one type of ordnance that the Su-25 can use its SP cost should go up rather than the plane itself.
If you were referring to the 11.3 Su-25T and Su-39 ignore my previous statement but also take into account both these planes lack thermals which still makes it hard to spot enemies even if it does have a Mercury TGP this time around
What would really help the 9.3 inbetween the modern planes is to add more Cold War planes like the SU-15 and the F-101 etc.

absolutely agree, was researching aircraft the ussr used during the cold war and I never realised they were missing so many aircraft in wt, although whilst it will help to separate the gap theres definitely going to be nations that don't have that many filler aircraft, Japan and Sweden spring to mind (interestingly though both nations do deserve an extra sub-tech tree so maybe the desired filler can be delivered)

It gets HMD and what is essentially an early version of MTI btw. Also the AIM-4G and AIM-26 are pretty decent missiles performance-wise despite the lack of a proxy fuze… (Although the AIM-26 did get a proxy fuze, but only in Swedish service.)
FGR2/FG1 being higher than the first Tornado F3 is very funny
F4 Junk being the same BR as the US Phantom J/S is also comical (It was before but I do not believe that the stats support that at all)
the J35XS and the Kfir Canard going up to 11.3 - right after the sale is comedy gold
Yeah the F3 might actually become pretty competitive with all the navy phantoms moving up two brackets and virtually every plane in it's br range moving at least one bracket up just like the F3
The Mirage F1CT is going at a higher BR than the F1C because it has a fully digital RWR while the F1C has worse RWR than the F-100 who is 2.0 BR lower and both the F1C and F1CT have effectively the same armement in terms of air-to-air.
I prefer to see this as a glass half full. Sure it's not everything we wanted, but increasing the max BR is THE #1 issue, and the rest can be done through later BR change rounds. The 104A and C having no counters means that they'll 100% go up, while the F-4C will go down due to no downtiers.
These changes are, as Gaijin mentioned in the post, unscheduled, and specifically target the top tier jets, as they too realized it's a shitshow. Actual scheduled changes will come later that hopefully will do something about 9.3 now that there is vacancy. Also, kinda sus to immediately move the premiums up after sales, but it's Gaijin after all.
Would you prefer they didn't move the premiums up alongside their TT counterparts?

Personally I think Gaijin should just push these changes and start getting some data back. Then they should begin making weekly/bi-weekly BR adjustments to balance things rather than sweeping BR changes every 3 months.
Kfir Canard has an RWR that can't tell whether somone is locking on to it with a radar missile and its now 11.3. Now planes that have only 2 mediocre IR missiles are in the same BR as planes that have 4, 6, 8 with a mix of both and are all aspect??
I thought that 14.0 would be introduced to separate Fox 3 meta from the Old meta and maybe bump up a couple of needed planes for decompression but they just completely changed the game.
Sip guys. Italy mainer here! F104s/S-TAF and f104s.ASA are all at 11.3. Basically upgraded f104 t same br. Also now there is basicly no counter for saggitario 2 or ariete at 9.3. GL HF Italy mains and wish for less compressed ground vehicles in the future

im glad this makes 9.0 playable again, and sort of helps 9.3 out a little. pretty cool of gaijin, and this is a step in the right direction for sure. Hopefully they make my harrier GR1 by down tiering it, giving it flares, or doing more decompression in the future. Still awesome that a tier 6 9.0 jet doesnt have to go against aim9L's, r60mk's and matra 550 missiles.

F1CT has a 'special' radar that doesn't give launch warning for fox 1's so it's the only mirage F1 where you're at least a little likely to hit the 530F
its not the radar its the missile. the 530f is a pulse not a cw missile so it doesnt trigger cw launch warnings like other sarhs do. its the same as other planes with pulse sarhs like the mig-21smt and its r-3r.

It would, but decompressing brs so fast would lead to a lot of shitty br changes and general chaos, it is better to decompress step by step instead of all at once

If they did this for the entire game there wouldn't be under BRed or over BRed vehicles anywhere. Just bad players complaining because they refuse to learn and get better.

So gaijin gives plenty of planes flares that didn't historically have them at least in their in-game configuration. Just give the f104, ariete, and mig19 flarss and move them up.
I don't know about every plane, but generally they try to only add flares to planes that eventually had flares or had some configurations that had flares, while not necessarily being the configurations we have in-game. To my knowledge, none of the planes you listed were ever capable of carrying flares in any configuration, certainly not the F-104A and C models. I think it would be a huge benefit and make it so you can stick those up at a higher BR where they belong, but I just don't see Gaijin doing that because it doesn't fit their design philosophy, as erroneous as we may think it is.
@@CowBeatsCrow iirc the F-5C was not supposed to be able to carry flares and as such the airframe didn't even have any provisions for mounting them in pods but they were added in game.
I can understand where you're coming from tho, that does seem to be the exception and not the rule. Most planes that didn't historically use them could at least still be fairly easily retrofitted with them in reality. Hell, the earliest F-15As in USAF service didn't have them by default, but they could be fitted.
War Thunder can be hard to balance sometimes because there's a careful balancing act between realism and gameplay quality that needs to be maintained. At the same time, gaijin seems to flip flop between favoring realism and favoring gameplay all the time, at least this holds true with ground forces. Hell, even Spookston pointed that out.
The Mig19 and F104 could go up for sure, but the Ariete is just too slow to deal with supersonics so it would still suffer with flares. It is closer to a 2nd generation jet like the Mig15 or La-200 in design than these other supersonics, since it’s from 1956 and locks up heavily past 900-1000kmh. The Aim9B was just being made around 1956 so the ariete having flares wouldn’t make sense.
Can someone explain the thinking behind the F4C to 10.7? 2 br jumps? For a plane that struggles to begin with while already facing all aspect missiles and radar missiles.

Don't, we've been eating real good since it was introduced. Now it'll have to rely on being patient and strategically going after targets as opposed to just dominating the match. And it's very possible it'll see downtiers consistently with all the other BR changes.
@@danaolsongaming Not an f5C player but F5E and I've been fucking patient. If someone took the (turn-)fight, I usually won. If not... there was nothing much I could do. Try to reverse the faster plane maybe but if they decided run and I hadn't drained them of energy before that, nothing I could do. The plane will be so boring to fly now I bet 💀
@@primisto7530 with the new BR changes, I bet your problem will stem mostly from radar missiles or more advanced IR missiles when you're not paying attention. Otherwise you'll be able to bait a lot of people into following you into an energy trap since most will think the F-5C is just "bad" at the new BR.
Whereas before you could just fuck around and still walk away with plenty of kills, players will have to actually worry about positioning so that they don't get third-partied when energy trapping someone.

My biggest question about the F-4EJ Kai is, how is it that much of an upgrade over the F-4EJ that they cant even be in the same match anymore, while basic F-16s are the same BR as the F-16 with Aim-9Ms??

Ah yes. EJ Kai at 12.7. I always complain about why the EJ Kai was higher than the imo superior F-4S. And now not only the EJ Kai is upped in BR by a whole 1.0, but the difference in BR between the Kai and the S is now 0.7 instead of 0.3.

The EJ Kai radar is very good, yes, but the radar alone did not make it "BR 11.7" good, and now certainly not "BR 12.7" good.
As the other guy below said, it might be justified if it gets AAM-3s. But they don't have them in-game, I don't think they're adding them as its BR gets increased, so I still disagree with its current or future BR increase. @amazingstealth8235 the radar is better so the 7f are better on it. It gets 9L insted of 9g and rhe agile Eagle doesn't matter when the f4s needs to bring an gun pound(and its still an f4). Yes it shouldn't be 12.7 but it's better then the f4s?

These changes stupid and even pointless. Becuase it's not a decompression at all. They UP everthing but also stays everything relatively at same BR against eachother. What't the point?
F4-E is going to be kind of crazy, it’s main issue was being up tired with f-14s, f-16s, and other 12.0s. With the br changes now you can climb and sling missiles, as well as having little counter from the average player
the jaguars and bucaneers going up again is insane aswell

yeah i understand the f-5's are a bit busted but to increase the BR by a whole battle rating seems a bit extreme because the planes did struggle a bit in uptiers but i guess we can wait and see but really sucks to see
@@radsbosscraft8476 Nah I mean the F-5A is said to be the same as the F-5C but I had a couple dogfights in the A and it felt like always the C variant had more energy retention than me. Also at any dogfight my plane was spaded and I had ace crew.

I’ve been using the mig-23bn to grind out the alpha jet and these changes are gonna make my life so much easier. I can barely kill people with my guns because out of 100 matches I’ve had around 7 were down tiers. The rest were up tiers either much faster and better missle planes

They might also look at fuel amounts and engine consumtion of all Jets, the atleast fixed the f16 fuel guzzeling.

Told ya just change the match maker from rank rank 6 (maybe from rank 5?) to +/- 0.5 BR difference maximum and it would solve most of the problems (and change some jets' BR accordingly)!
The Mirage F1CT has the same RWR and HUD of the mirage 2000C-S5 so it's reasonable to be at a higher BR than the mirage F1C and the F1C-200
