Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes completely destroyed the dialogue for English releases. Though 505 Games are doubling down on that, and are going so far as banning people on their official Discord page, for saying the localization is bad.
Why do people hate them? In my opinion they see gamers as an easy target (the geeks and nerds they used to make fun of), people they can scapegoat using the negative imagery. The media have jumped on this in the past an exacerbated the negative public image and false causation for the people who happen to commit heinous crimes. (It's false because games are like TV, or reading, lots of people do these things. So when the population of unstable individuals exists in society, they still exist in the population playing games. Games or not these crimes happen.)
When I see the type of psychopaths who hate gamers, it just makes me want to embrace my identity as a gamer all the more. Those who refuse to put up with their crap are the true rebels. We have put up with them for too long. Gamers have always been outcasts since gaming is one of the most misunderstood hobbies in the world.
All cultural, entertainment industries have fallen; music, movie, comics, even novels at some degree. Gamers are the only defying, sole resisting audience standing at the gate for their culture. That's the reason.
It's a very easy fix, gamers, stop spending your money and work on those massive backlogs we all have for the next year or so. Let the industry crash and watch thousands of these haters take selfies in the unemployment lines. Point, laugh, and go back to playing the games you already paid for. I'm done with this industry for the foreseeable future as I will not be buying anymore new games. Back log and retro, pre DEI is good enough for me :D
Streamers dominate now and corpos can't compete in that space. You can't fake enjoyment of a game for hours on end during live chat. Shills that try get ratioed to hell. Game journos could have still had a place since it is quicker to skim an article than to sit through a ten minute review but they have been lying and gaslighting for so long that they lost the gaming audience. Maybe it can be saved if the current publications clean house and bring in streamers who know how to write but I doubt it would be worth anyone's time to do so.
