In that Ubisoft video there’s 3 white people speaking on Japanese history and a black historical figure, that should tell you everything. The Yasuke story is heavily embellished BS. He wasn't a samurai. It's all a lie, like a lot of history. Look into the myth of Ghengis Khan, that's interesting too, pretty much all you know about him came from a single source, who quoted a single source, a book that he invented into existence called something like, "The Forgotten History of Asia." Also the Great Wall of China, it's archery holes are on the wrong side, pointing towards China.
You know what, If a Japanese company doing this, no one will care about this, because they know that if Japanese were to do this, their intention should be pure and they should have interesting story to tell if they choose to do so. But this is Ubisoft, and we know what they are trying to pull.

My point is how people are upset not because it was a made up story but because it’s a person of color or so called black. That is the real problem and these same people have serious issues within themselves and to be that bothered over something like that because of the color of the skin to me shows how racist people are. I believe if you look at someone and you judge them, don’t like them, or think your better than they are because of their skin color makes you inferior mentally, spiritually, emotionally to that person. If this was 10yrs ago, they wouldn’t have had Yasuke as the player character, they’d just have a fictional Japanese male player character like all the others. Maybe you’d meet Yasuke as an npc with a storyline though, but he’d not have been the playable one. I just wanted to be immersed in the world of Old Japan, the game is less important to me. And let me tell you, nothing destroys immersion of Old Japan like playing as a 6 ft. African Samurai. Ubisoft is infected.

What does Ubisoft bring to the table other than bringing a black guy in what will most likely be a big empty map of feudal Japan with little to nothing to do between the main story For $70 to $120? (who the hell is going to get the subscription when in a month or so the game is going to drop to $20) Should have just stuck with just the female and commit to a Kunoichi Assassin (That will most likely be modernized/ugly even though kunoichis were known for using their beauty to spy on and assassinte targets) Nioh is not the defense they think it is when the main character of the first game is loosely (and I mean so loose its spider's web thread blowing in the wind) William Adam who through his actions and deeds became recognized as a Samurai in feudal Japan along with his second mate Jan Joosten.

It's all about smart, qualitative writing which Ubisoft wouldn't know a thing about.
That's why I don't play modern games, because these are not games but political manifests. Some old games have tons of mods and huge replayability no need for new games I'm done with "new games"

I play these games for the settings, not the individual characters (because so few of the assassins have well-written arcs in the first place).
