This era is definitely super underrated and I do appreciate the full arts from this era. I do have 4 minty full art Blastoise Ex cards in my collection. None graded. I believe 2 have a legit shot at a 10. Love the content, keep it up.
Finally someone notices xy full arts POPS. We've been out here wondering if anyone else noticed. Good luck finding a Wailord, Sharpedo and 95% of any of the other full arts.

@@supinelemon I mean... the $1200 AZ full art (and probably plenty of others in this video) would beg to disagree. A PSA 9 recently sold for only $20. If someone's willing to pay 60x the PSA 9 price for a 10, that to me indicates there are plenty of people who care about the pop.
@@darkapples8108 coming from the crypto world where pump and dump schemes are common-- I always take these big fluctuations in prices with a grain of salt
BW, XY FA are so underrated imo, those were the chase back then beside the secret rares.
I bought that PSA 10 Pokemon Center Lady! I've had my eyes out for that card for awhile so I really didn't want to see it get away!

XY has some of the most short printed unlimited Japanese sets in Pokemon. Add on the terrible print quality on the English side. Makes for some interesting rarities.
So Japanese quality was always better so are you saying that we should go for the Japanese counter part for these cards if we want to buy and grade cards from this set
@@inkedBc Yes, if you are looking for 10 in the XY era. I would go for Japanese.
You're correct, the early XY era print quality was pretty awful...it wasn't until around mid/late 2015 (Ancient Origins, Breakthrough, etc.) that it started to get a little better, and then in 2016 it got even a little better (but still not great). The pop reports for Ancient Origins and on for PSA 10 copies jumps up quite a bit compared to Roaring Skies and before.
I think it would be interesting to compare the English prices to the Japanese prices for some of these...the Japanese pops are higher in some cases (better card quality), but the some prices are still pretty high, especially the trainer cards and Eeveelutions (from Breakpoint and Fates Collide). I mainly collect the Japanese versions of these cards, but if I see a clean English copy for a reasonable price, I always snag it.

Might be the best era of full art cards IMO, amazing colors and texturing, I think each subsequent generations has regressed in terms of full arts

I'm the guy who actually bought Lysandre on this auction. I and many people who collect XY cards believe that the majority of cards were shilled. They sold for 3-5 times more than they should. Many people made high bids only to lose every single auction. There definitely was something very shady

Before the consignment, the seller tried to sell his entire collection on his Instagram page. For instance, Lucario was priced $1000, Teammates $650, AZ $700. No one wanted to buy them for a week for these prices. Then all of a sudden, they are sold much higher on eBay. The entire XY collectors community knows this person, so it's just unbelievable that suddenly some random people will pay much more on eBay. This is even without considering that in reality the majority of the cards are PSA 6-8 condition and would never grade PSA 10 today, especially Lucario. It's just destroyed on the back side. You can also check Thundurus's back, this card should have graded PSA 1 and not PSA 10

I've been collecting these for a while now.
I was lucky enough to buy the m charizard ex 108/106 PSA 10 for 350euro, only on the market and the seller was willing to hold for me.
Still happy with that card, i think it will do well in the future.

Those were my cards I should have auction the rarest ones I had but I actually sold those on IG. I sold the entire xy era Full art and Secret I was missing 6 .
The whole waifu thing is a little creepy in my opinion, but strictly guyfu collectors are super creepy

Quality control during XY was rubbish. I graded a complete set of pack fresh ancient origins full arts and didn’t roll a single 10 😢

Using listing prices for pokehut as a price guide is absolute nonsense. That seller always lists *significantly* above market. Check their other items.
XY Primal Clash is definitely in the top 3 of all-time worst print quality sets. Imo, the booster boxes are undervalued for the potential value in them.
Why do people pay extra for PSA 10? I would way rather have a CGC pristine 10.

You have it all wrong man. Most of these cards when they came out werent graded because the hype train for graded cards just wasnt there. When SM era hit, then everyone and their grandmas were grading stuff and everyone forgot about the XY era. Then it continued on to SwSh era. XY era was the cheapest to collect master sets of, i was selling playsets of ultra rares for 10 bucks a pop, even in format. It was wild times.
I've got the XY Emolga in a PSA 10. I would never imagine selling because I would likely never get a chance to buy another in my lifetime.
