There is a painting of this passage of the young boys giving Jesus the five loaves and two fish in the City of the poor in Lourdes.
The founder of the city of the poor was Monseigneur Rodhain and he is quoted as saying “what if the little boy did not give the five loaves and two fish” what if the boy said “ A no Lord, I want them for myself and my family” then the Lord could not have taken the loaves and fish and blessed them and the 5,000 would not have been fed and to this day people are being blessed by this passage. When the Lord asks us to give the little we have, he takes what we have and he multiplies with grace and blessings. “It is in giving we receive”
May St Mary’s parish be blessed with every grace and blessing.

I contacted Father’s Order through their Media contact section, as a charismatic posted here suggested, asking specific questions about the standard practices of baptism of the HS, laying on of hands, and speaking in tongues. I haven’t heard back from them yet. When I do I’ll give their feedback here.

Strange that the ultimate priority of evangelization is not even named in these 3 steps. The ultimate message of evangelization is therefore ABOVE ALL to announce the good news of the grace and salvation offered by Jesus Christ to all those who believe in Him. It calls for repentance and faith in Jesus Christ, and promises reconciliation with God, eternal life, and joy and peace in Christ. (Acts 5:42) Every day, in the temple and in the houses, they did not cease teaching and announcing the good news of Jesus Christ.

Is this a novis order church ?
I have been involved before with the Charismatic Movement, but decided I should disassociate with it. I understand devotion to the Holy Spirit and the gifts of the Holy Spirit, but no charismatic has presented sufficient evidence that charismatic practices or teachings were ever part of the Church’s tradition including in the early Church, or ever traditionally supported by the Magisterium, Fathers, and Doctors of the Church. I am referring to the charismatic teaching of a second regeneration experience distinct from water baptism, called baptism in the Holy Spirit, and evidenced by the speaking in tongues, in which you speak not literally in a foreign language. The Methodists, Holiness, and Pentecostals taught this from their interpretation of Scripture, apart from the Fathers or any evidence this was believed by the official Church in the first centuries. Please explain otherwise how a Catholic in good conscience can believe and practice these charismatic teachings. The implication is that the second regeneration experience elevates charismatics to a higher state of holiness and union with God, and therefore that the charismatic is spiritually superior to Catholics not jointing this. There is much pressuring to join because the attitude is this is essential. That is a religious experience of a second spirit baptism, with laying on of hands, and speaking in tongues. Until this can be squared with Catholic tradition, with all due respect, I find this dangerous to souls, leading them into novel and harmful forms of spirituality. The saints advised against seeking novel spiritualities because they typically lead a person down a bad path. Fr Chad Ripperger exorcist has talked about how the laying on of hands and speaking in tongues has caused demonic possession.
I have never heard the term "second regeneration experience" and I have been in the charismatic renewal since the early 90's. Read John 14: 11-14
It seems like you have some misunderstandings about the Charismatic Catholic movement. St. John Paul 2 & Pope Francis do not discourage it, but rather encourage it.
I know many Catholic charismatics & they don’t typically believe this “baptism” in the Holy Spirit is actual baptism, nor would they believe they are holier than others. I grew up as a charismatic Protestant & these assumptions you are making are more akin to the Assemblies of God churches and like denominations. Many Saints have spoken in tongues and had mystical experiences. The Charismatic movement is just a way of worshipping God in the context of the Holy Catholic Faith.
@@cindykooke1376 I did not say that is a “term.” I read the verse you posted. I see no evidence in it to back up charismatic practices. Where does the Magisterium traditionally teach about these practices? What Fathers and Doctors of the Church? Where did the official early Church engage in this? It is a Protestant novelty.
@@lifematterspodcast You misread what I said. I did not say charismatics believe the baptism in the HS is LITERALLY baptism. Not that charismatics hold themselves as being higher. I said the teaching IMPLIES it makes you more holy, and therefore IMPLIES not having the experience will result in being less holy. Applied across a minority movement in the Church, logically that position would lead many to act superior.
I was told that "baptism of the Holy Spirit" means you begin to live your original baptismal vows.
