❤ In classical Greek, the word spoude (σπουδή) means "haste" or "speed". It can also mean "earnestness", "diligence", or "hastily". Spoude describes quick movement in the pursuit of a goal or in the interests of a person. It can also mean "swiftness to show zealous diligence", or "one's 'best' (full effort by making haste)". "Spoude" can also mean "eagerness", "diligence", even "zeal".

Dear Fr. Goring, I think this inspired Revival about which you speak for your parish is the model for every Catholic Church. The archdiocese where I live is reorganizing parishes and reassigning priests so that where there were three parishes, there are now three "families" being combined to be led by one priest and a parochial vicar (if feasible), in an attempt to address financial drain and fewer vocations. There are other shepherds similarly inspired like you, however. Please God, may the means to new life in our parishes be simply ignited by the Pentecosts you describe. God bless your obedient, docile spirit...

Who here agrees with me that Father Goring should be the next pope? One should not have to be 500 yrs old to qualify for that holy chair.
Can't go wrong with Mary! The Legion of Mary teaches that in becoming the mother of God, Mary received a certain authority over us all and one aspect of that is that when we go to someone, we should acknowledge we are sent by Mary to that person to bring her Son to them. She has been entrusted with the formation of Christ's "body". I never looked at it that way before, but you are confirming it with your homily of Mary's visitation to Elizabeth and the beautiful praise of God that came from both of them.
