@@SnezanahThe New Heaven and the New Earth 1I saw the new heaven and the new earth. For the first heaven and the first earth passed away, and the sea is no more. 2And I, John, saw the Holy City, the New Jerusalem, descending out of heaven from God, prepared like a bride adorned for her husband. 3And I heard a great voice from the throne, saying: “Behold the tabernacle of God with men. And he will dwell with them, and they will be his people. And God himself will be their God with them. 4And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes. And death shall be no more. And neither mourning, nor crying out, nor grief shall be anymore. For the first things have passed away.” 5And the One who was sitting upon the throne, said, “Behold, I make all things new.” And he said to me, “Write, for these words are entirely faithful and true.” 6And he said to me: “It is done. I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End. To those who thirst, I will give freely from the fountain of the water of life. 7Whoever prevails shall possess these things. And I will be his God, and he shall be my son. 8But the fearful, and the unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and fornicators, and drug users, and idolaters, and all liars, these shall be a part of the pool burning with fire and sulphur, which is the second death.” 9And one of the seven Angels, those holding the bowls filled with the seven last afflictions, approached and spoke with me, saying: “Come, and I will show you the bride, the wife of the Lamb.” 10And he took me up in spirit to a great and high mountain. And he showed me the Holy City Jerusalem, descending out of heaven from God, 11having the glory of God. And its light was like that of a precious stone, even like that of the jasper stone or like crystal. 12And it had a wall, great and high, having twelve gates. And at the gates were twelve Angels. And names were written upon them, which are the names of the twelve tribes of the sons of Israel. 13On the East were three gates, and on the North were three gates, and on the South were three gates, and on the West were three gates. 14And the wall of the City had twelve foundations. And upon them were the twelve names of the twelve Apostles of the Lamb. 15And he who was speaking with me was holding a golden measuring reed, in order to measure the City, and its gates and wall. 16And the city is laid out as a square, and so its length is as great as the width. And he measured the city with the golden reed for twelve thousand stadia, and its length and height and breadth were equal. 17And he measured its wall as one hundred and forty-four cubits, the measure of a man, which is of an Angel. 18And the structure of its wall was of jasper stone. Yet truly, the city itself was of pure gold, similar to pure glass. 19And the foundations of the wall of the city were adorned with every kind of precious stone. The first foundation was of jasper, the second was of sapphire, the third was of chalcedony, the fourth was of emerald, 20the fifth was of sardonyx, the sixth was of sardius, the seventh was of chrysolite, the eighth was of beryl, the ninth was of topaz, the tenth was of chrysoprasus, the eleventh was of jacinth, the twelfth was of amethyst. 21And the twelve gates are twelve pearls, one for each, so that each gate was made from a single pearl. And the main street of the city was of pure gold, similar to transparent glass. 22And I saw no temple in it. For the Lord God Almighty is its temple, and the Lamb. 23And the city has no need of sun or moon to shine in it. For the glory of God has illuminated it, and the Lamb is its lamp. 24And the nations shall walk by its light. And the kings of the earth shall bring their glory and honor into it. 25And its gates shall not be closed throughout the day, for there shall be no night in that place. 26And they shall bring the glory and honor of the nations into it. 27There shall not enter into it anything defiled, nor anything causing an abomination, nor anything false, but only those who have been written in the Book of Life of the Lamb.

I don't have to worry about having too many comforts. And I have plenty of challenges, although a bit less now. I'm not all that happy. Guess, I just don't fit into this particular homily. Dominus vobiscum.
It seems to me that the difference is attitude. As Father explains, Saint Paul had numerous extraordinary sufferings, yet he was overwhelmed with Joy and courage. We could ask Saint Paul to help us to learn from him.
@@granmabern5283 I do thank you for you thought, but I respectfully disagree. My comment was addressed directly to the suggestion in the good Father's homily, in particular that people should be aware of how comfortable their lives are and to take on challenges. Fine so far as that goes. I am all too well aware that many people who give the outward appearance that all is well are carrying crushing burdens and have little help, not even the comfort of someone to talk to; they are very separated from human comfort and carry their burdens alone. Contributing to the Church and paying taxes just does not cover it. It is to a small degree helpful when outsiders are, or become aware of the crosses some must carry, however, such folk can do little because they have their own problems and families that need their attention. The idea that someone should deny themselves some comfort ( e.g., turn off the ac.) and take on a challenge just seems both naive and inadequate when there is real suffering going happening. Maybe none of this is happening in the good Father's parish (although he indicated awareness of people carrying crosses in his homily). If there is little or no suffering in Father's parish, I say, good and God Bless them. But I wonder if Father's suggestion gets even close to what I think we should be made aware of and challenged to do. Thus, to me it is not a question of attitude. To me this is a question of awareness of suffering and what we as Catholics have been asked to do by our Lord in the scriptures and voiced to us by our priests. Just my thought. Dominus vobiscum.
I have a question that I am finding a hard time getting and definite answer too. Everywhere on TV, Social Media, Movies and even Christian ones, actors say over and over in full OMG. It being in Christian movies is why I am questioning my stance on saying these words or even watching anything that has these words repeatedly used. It means most of what I begin watch even if I really want to see it, I have to turn it off! I do not mind this as it seems wrong to be entertained by something that has blaspheme in it. My question is this. Is using this term, saying it, actually Blaspheme? I know using Our Lord's name is, I know it is even wrong hearing Our Blessed Mother's name used badly is wrong. Can someone please give me their insight on this please on the term OMG

(1 Peter12-16) Beloved, think it not strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you, as though some strange thing happened unto you: 13 But rejoice, inasmuch as ye are partakers of Christ's sufferings; that, when His glory shall be revealed, ye may be glad also with exceeding joy.
14 If ye be reproached >> for the Name of Christ
I didn't need this cross and I don't want it. So how come God cannot give us more than we can handle do I always seem to get more than I can handle.
There is a curious thing about chicks hatching. If as it starts to hatch someone breaks open the shell for the chick, it will likely die. They need to struggle as part of the process! If we don't go through any difficulty or hardship we won't grow and will also be more easily intimidated by challenges in life.
I have a serious question nobody has really answered on here, but are abusers and people like con artists and people with personality disorders like narcissism demonically possessed? And if not how do you differentiate between just bad people and someone possessed?
A priest trained in exorcism determines if a person is possessed...Fr.Chad Ripperger has videos on UA-cam that you may find quite beneficial. God bless you..hope that helps.
@@nancydiniro6888 it's just some people I've met who I think had a personality disorder seriously seemed possessed. It was like there was something evil in them.
