Very nice castles! Are all of them in Luxembourg? I have been in Luxembourg twice, but never visited them....also nice artificial lake. It would be great to rent a boat for a stride... many greetings from Greece.
I will be staying in Vianden soon, and i want to visit these places. I will be going on a Monday but won't get there till the afternoon, so i could see Vianden in an afternoon. I plan on going to Clervaux to see the Family of Man exhibition, as i hear its opened up again but its only open Weds-Sun. So i shall be discovering the Ardennes on the Weds, as i will be there just two full days. I would like to go to Clervaux, Esch-sur-Sure and Ettelbruck. Then travel down to Luxembourg city.
A good question. Bagpipes in Europe are not only Scottish. Wikipedia is writing: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bagpipes "In the early part of the second millennium, definite clear attestations of bagpipes began to appear with frequency in Western European art and iconography. The Cantigas de Santa Maria, written in Galician-Portuguese and compiled in Castile in the mid-13th century, depicts several types of bagpipes Several illustrations of bagpipes also appear in the Chronique dite de Baudoin d’Avesnes, a 13th-century manuscript of northern French origin. (....) Bagpipes were also frequent subjects for carvers of wooden choir stalls in the late 15th and early 16th century throughout Europe, sometimes with animal musicians"

The castle of Vianden in the Luxembourgish Ardennes is a real nice place. Many films have been done in that castle in Luxembourg
MrLaplander Dracula: the Series (1990) was filmed in Vianden. the show is cheesy but the lead and the castle are both gorgeous.
beautiful castle in Liuxemourg!!
Herrliches Land! Luxemburg ist auf jeden Fall einen Besuch wert =)
loads of things to see in Luxembourg
Sehr schönes Schloss.
Wann kann man es besichtigen?
I prefer the Ardennes of Belgium to the Luxembourgish Ardennes. They have better beers in Belgium than in Luxembourg ;-)
OK Vianden castle is nice
Is the bagpipe part of the Luxembourgish musical folklore?
