Sorry I'm late commenting, but I just found your channel. I love Luxembourg. Such friendly people. A great downtown. I love walking the walls of the central city.
We heard it was an incredible place and watching this just gave us a reason to add it to our full time travel schedule. Hoping they do a food experience while there. I'm sure they will.
Can't believe you visited Luxembourg!!! One of my favourite countries, and growing up my family and I used to go down there from the Netherlands, every year for holidays until I was about 18/19. Feels like I haven't been there for ages! Great to see Vianden through your eyes!
If you are from the netherlands then i have something for you that you might not know: willem, the king of the netherlands is actually the last descendant of the counts of vianden.
That 3D map of the castle is insane. Love interactive museums like that. That chair lift was kinda scary, fun but scary. Great review and those latte's looked AMAZING! We're DEFINITELY going to have to add that to our full time travel schedule. How was the sausage and fries?
I met Mr Kris Steven during this pandemic , at first I thought he was not legit, I just had to try because everything in life involves risk, Mr Kris Steven is an expert in trading bitcoin, he changed my 0.5btc to 26tc in only 4 months, his winning is so good, he has his site where you register and have your login details and watch your investment grow. Really enjoyed the slow panning, it helps to see more. Also, so happy you took time to film in the castle Luxembourg was so occupied by the Germans during the war, it's a wonder anything survived. Thanks for the wonderful tour.
So beautiful, and amazing weather too. Stunning castle restoration. Talk about color coordinating your dress with the castle interior 😁 This episode moves nicely, a great sell job, as we're definitely putting this spot on our list, thanks. Best, James and Kim
So glad you enjoyed this one! Vianden is such a quaint little city and the castle is so much fun! The coordinating dress was totally an accident, but a happy one 😂
Thanks for the great tour. Allison, the color of your dress goes very well with the color of your hair, as well as with the interior trim color of the castle. Very interesting video.
I love traveling with you guys! The castle looks amazing and I'm so happy they rebuilt it! I would definitely have my eyes closed on that lift though lol
Thanks for the really cool video. I use to live in Germany, near another wonderful city called Trier, which is over 2000 years old. But Vianden was my favorite weekend getaway, especially during the winter. The folks are super nice!
Great video! The castle looks awesome, that’s so cool that they were able to restore it and still have it look so authentic! Taking notes for one day when we go to Luxembourg, got to make sure we come to this town!
We totally agree you ,Tori and Nathan! It's incredible what they did to restore that gorgeous castle. We are definitely going to add this to place to our full-time travel schedule.
This was such a cute video! I loveeeee exploring castles, it’s one of my favourite things to do, so I’ve added this charming town and castle to my list! 🌃 🏰 Can’t wait for you to visit the centre of Luxembourg 🇱🇺!!
Catching up on some of your old vlogs, love this one! I did a series for showtime called Chromium Blue in 2001, and we filmed for 2 days at the castle! Beautiful part of the world, although I was there in the dead of winter, so it was very cold in the castle.
I lived a year in Luxembourg when I was 6-7 years old. My dad was working as a teacher. We never really left the capital to see other parts of the country. We did take car trips to other countries which was fun. Can't really do that here in Finland.
Hi I'm from Luxembourg and if you want to eat great food in Vianden I recommend the ''Auberge Aal Veinen Beim Hunn''. You can find it on the main street under the castle
@@ToriandNathanTravel Yes I showed my son and he seen it as well, not saying it is just was a bit odd is all. Just seemed pretty cool. And great videos by the way, awesome.
What an amazing, charming little town! I got curious and looked for it on Google Maps. I found out that the river that goes through the town is the border between Luxembourg and Germany, and the town is on what would be the German bank, but around Vianden the border makes a detour away from the river so that Vianden can be inside Luxembourg. I can imagine the treaties and negotiations among royalty and nobility many years ago that led to that situation, and I guess that it must have had something to do with the castle and the rights that came with it.
I wish you two would go to Bali, Tahiti, Bora Bora- somewhere like that! You make, by far, the best travel vlogs. From lodgings to food to local activities, you have it covered.
Thanks for sharing .Ill be basing myself in Vianden for 5 days to explore Luxembourg so looking forward to seeing the castle and the views .Mainly on a military based trip from Arras then Waterloo and Bastogne so i know Diekirch has alot of American WW2 stuff to see .
See Starbucks doesn't just make great coffee, they also get you lost to find some awesome back roads. OMG. those wasps were definitely trying to get all up in the vlog. 😂 Really great shots of the castle. It's definitely epic.
😂Starbucks - delivering coffee AND adventures! I think the only reason we're happy summer's almost over is because that means the bees/wasps will FINALLY leave us alone! They are way too nosey over in Europe 🐝
I lived in Vianden in 1958, in a house on the main street right below the castle, it had big iron letters on the facade for the year it was built: 1609.... My first job was working for the town electrician, who also owned the cable lift and the local cinema. I got to watch a lot of movies while I learned to operate the old carbon arc projectors and swap and splice reels of film..... Before this, we lived at the "Bivelser Muehle:, a bit upriver from Vianden. That place no longer exists, it is at the bottom of the lake behind the new dam.
Omg so nice you’re in my country. You guys should have come during Medieval Festival time (27.07-04/08) cause they would have had medieval fights, tasty rock candy, beautiful rock stone necklaces🥰😆😘
Hi #evanezhan , glad to know this info, we will come back for sure next year for the festival. We visited it last week and it was really beautiful, love the panorama from above the castle. By the way I made it in cinematic looks, what do you think of it ?.
Charlottenburg Palace is a posh Early Modern Age royal city residence whereas Vianden is a truly medieval castle, so you can't quite compare them, but I agree, Charlottenburg Palace is definitely worth a visit.
That's exciting. We are definitely wanting to add this place to our travel schedule. General Patton's grave and the American Military Cemetery must have been an incredible visit. So much history there. Glad you got to experience that. 👍
If you are in Luxemburg, go also on the Mosel river valley. Is... super and you have some picture perfect villages, the valley itself, city of Trier (has 5 UNESCO monuments)
We actually stayed along the Mosel River, but in Germany. It was absolutely beautiful, so I imagine the section in Luxembourg is lovely. Thanks for the recommendation 💗
Thank you for bringing back some wonderful memories. My wife and I went to Vianden for a week in 1982. Traveled by motorcycle (Suzuki GT 250) from the UK, and camped at the campground in the village. We loved the chairlift, and bought fabulous icecreams topped with Chantilly cream and slices of Kiwi fruit. It seemed so decadent back then! From the chairlift we saw wild bore (pigs) in the woods. We also enjoyed great rides out through the Ardennes. Maybe I should return on my current bike!
What a trip that must have been! I imagine it's a pretty fun area for a motorcycle :) And that dessert sounds fantastic! They still have loads of beautiful ice cream dishes to try, if you ever go back 🍦😊

This video brought back so many memories! I grew up just east of Vianden across the border in Germany
Glad we could take you close to home! It's such a beautiful area 😍
Really enjoyed the slow panning, it helps to see more. Also, so happy you took time to film in the castle Luxembourg was so occupied by the Germans during the war, it's a wonder anything survived. Thanks for the wonderful tour.

I have really been looking into the away luggage, which looks to be what you guys just purchased. At some point soon can you do a video on how you pack them and which size is really the biggest bang for buck. I have heard the bigger carry-on still fits in the bag check basket at airports, but do they fit in the baskets for carry on in the European airports. Also trying to decide if doing the 18” would be large enough. I fly spirit a lot, and it seems to be the ideal size for it.
We definitely keep meaning to do a packing guide showing everything in our bags...hopefully we'll make it a reality soon! And great eye - we got the bigger carry ons. We actually went to one of their stores and got the carry on size and the bigger one and did some trial packing to see which one worked. We were really hoping we could make do with the smaller one, but the couple extra inches on the bigger one made all the difference. We actually haven't had a chance to carry them on yet, but judging by previous experiences, I think they'd fit on most flights. Technically, they're about an inch over the limit on a lot of airlines, but so were some of our previous bags and we always made those work. 😉Hopefully we can try carrying them on soon and show off that process 👍
Love Allison's dress! Does she remember where she got the dress? I enjoy watching your videos.
Hi Sue! So glad you enjoyed visiting Vianden with us! :) My dress is actually from Old Navy 😊
How about that amazing bag?
europe has some very nice castles

European streets😍😍😍
I know I'm late on this comment. After 3 yrs of living in Germany, the backroads were the best way to travel. The best scenic views, and hidden gems not on tourists maps.

Shame you passed so close to Maastricht and did not call in - well worth a visit. Historically it, along with Liège which is not quite so impressive but still worth visiting, was a major northern European crossroad town and still sits at the junction of 4 countries (Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, Luxembourg) and on the river Meuse which is still a major commercial waterway.
Go Adventurers! 🍻🍺
Passed right between Bastogne and Malmedy, two places that have passed into American history.
Vianden Castle is really nice! However as a local I would not recommend going to Luxembourg City. Due to all the construction sites, the city has become one big mess and the traffic is absolutely horrifying. Hopefully you will enjoy your Luxembourg trip anyway ☺️
Have you visited Echternach as well?
It is in"teresting at minute 1:20 they say "you can't even notice" when they crossed borders...over here with us, we are so worried about a stupide little border...how interesting
If you like old towns on hills then check out San Marino
Guys you missed the best thing in Vianden.. Cafe Du Pont!!!
We actually alllllmost ate there, but their wifi was too slow and we needed to upload a vlog. 🙈There were tons of people in there though, so I imagine it's delicious. Next time, for sure!
Have you been to the Alhambra fortress in Granada, Spain?
What range does the drone have?
Hi #ivonthomas, we visited last week, there was sign about the drawn you could use', on the way up to the castle but I completely forgot to take picture...sorry. I made a cinematic looks of this castle, what do you think ??
Out of all the 46 countries you've visited, what country was your most favorite?
Was I in the middle of something? Yes. Yes I was. Did I stop what I was doing in order to watch this video? Yes. Yes I did. Do I pick this video over what I was doing? Yes. Yes I do. ❤️❤️❤️
❤
Thank you i enjoyed that not the wasps
This castle has also been used in a lot of war films .
which movies?
I have been coming to luxembourg for over 20 years and I have never known that
Spellbinder, please name some of the films. I'd love to watch them.
