You're beautiful every day but as soon as I started this video I said to my husband "omg, she looks amazing!" The lighting, the blue shirt, your makeup & hair! Whatever it was made you look absolutely stunning! 😊
You do look exceptionally beautiful today. I'm glad someone else said it first. Are you doing your makeup differently or is it the lightning. Or maybe marriage just agrees with you. ;)
I am going to chime in alongside the comments that said how stunning you look today. You always look fantastic. Would we love a get ready with me video from you? Yes we would.😁
I agree. I left a comment under her last video that she is aging backwards. She honestly looks like she is in her thirties or maybe forties, but most definitely not sixties! 😊
It’s probably just the happiness how lucky is this beautiful woman to find a man who accepts her and finds joy in the same things she does best fairytale ever
I thrift everything that I can. Household products, decor, makeover, and up cycle projects, personal care, products, all the things. I do it because I love to not because I have to.. my Husband and I over the years have built quite a savings by buying everything secondhand that is in good condition and or safe to use ,if it’s a personal care product, we then calculate what it would’ve cost to purchase it new and put that amount into a savings account. Like I said, we do this because we like to not because we have to and I love the idea of not being wasteful both in product and money. We put two of our daughters through college by doing this our whole marriage26 years. One of our daughters just got engaged, and we will be paying for the entire wedding with this money that we saved by buying secondhand. We are also Thrifting many of the decor pieces for her wedding and having so much fun making them over, which is another bonus and blessing of thrifting. If we just bought everything new we would not be sharing this time and making these priceless memories. Oh my goodness! All this to say ,Yes I would buy the Q-tips.😂🤣
Ditto! When we moved to a remote area 20 yrs ago, we fell in love w two thrifts in our area, one has appliances. So we've never bought new or full price anything, except beds since then. Something breaks, we buy parts, or if hubbie can't fix, out it goes to local dump who takes it to recycle and we get another, always a Kenmore or Whirlpool item.
My wife collects deer. Some days she has half a dozen, including the new spotted fawns each year, out browsing on the plants in our yard. At the old house, there was a larger herd, so we’d have as many as a dozen and some would let her hand feed them apples. My young grandson was very worried about who would feed the deer, when we moved out to the lake house. We sent him photos of the deer at the new house and he thought grandma had relocated them during the move, as she had by digging up some of her favorite plants and replanting them in our new location.
@@mythoughts6922 At the old place, she was like Snow White. In the morning, we'd go up and feed the chickens & ducks, which was where the feed shed was and in season there'd be milk crates of apples stored. I have a photo of her I took. Originally she was facing the shed door and while she was turned away, a semi-circle of does and fawns lined up and an Owl came in to land on the gate post. The neighbors dog, a Labrador was there too, all of them lined up to be feed. It was a real site. They came in behind her, quietly, without her noticing until I had her turn for a phone photo!
Yea I would buy the Q-tips. If it was slightly open I would probably take the first 1/4 of the package out and use those for cleaning things like silver or other small items. The rest I would use

I agree with Karen about the scammers on FB Marketplace. I listed two leather chairs and I barely hit enter when I got two of those messages asking for my phone #. I ignored them and after that for a week I got only scammers so I took the listing down. I the listed them on Ebay local pick up only and within two weeks I sold them. I have sold 4 items on Ebay for local pickup. The crazy thing was, I live in NJ and not one of the items was purchased by a local resident. One was from Md. One was from Ct. NY and Va! Is that not the craziest?
So nice of you to explain to resellers using a large market site like fb pick up the rules of being careful; and then the best, is the dos and don'ts for your protection. No dollar amount is worth a life. Karen thank you! ❤❤❤❤❤
I am lucky that I have had people come to the house for heavy things like bed frames, bikes, dressers and so many other things and have gone to peoples homes and have gone inside. It is just like having a garage sale and everyone comes to your house and sees you and what is in your garage. When I go to homes to pick up things, it is like when I go to Estate sales and I am the first one there and no one else is there yet. I have met in the police parking lot and store parking lots. There is almost nothing I wouldn't buy if in pristine condition for personal use. I don't think I would buy food items. It is fun looking back on the items you sold on Facebook. I remember you finding most all of them.
So nice to see you enjoying your beautiful back yard and enjoy the golf tournament!! Love LOVE LOVE your hair color!😻 One year when I was a CA nursing student we were comped to go to Bob Hope Desert Classic... was fun and crowded. Saw "the man" himself, twice. I would coach him on his putting and he took it so sweetly, as he was a wonderfully kind Daddy... . So glad it was only a 9 hole course in Japan, cuz it was always so hot out....
Oh that’s such an awesome childhood memory. When we lived in Toluca Lake CA about 10 years ago the Bob Hope estate had a sale at a church down the street from his home. You missed the right sized hurricane shade at 20:48. This tells me you should put down the camera when you’re looking hard for something. It was on the end cap. Upside down. Top of hurricane was sitting on shelf and had one row of candlewick beads
Yes, saw it on the left of the Hard Rock Cafe tumbler. The vintage shade with a slender beaded rim, nice. I guess she didn’t hear us yelling… there it is! 😅
I hope you have a great time at the PGA tournament. I am a big golf fan, don’t play, and my husband and I got free tix to an event near us. It was thrilling and got videos of Tiger. What a wonderful day and lots of great exercise walking around these beautiful courses. Enjoy!
Yes to the cleaning products and Q tips! That perforated back is very easy to push in and break and it looks like that happened and not necessarily that someone had them open to use..
GREAT VIDEO KAREN!....off topic, love the soft arch you are doing on your brows, and the blonde! I know Lisa helps with the brown but trust me, you can do it yourself. I have forever but that was my career. Just color half the amount of hair you think you want and you won't go wrong. Obviously the streaks (stripes) spread out when dry...but you know all this. ❤
What a lovely gift of Roger's friend to give you both the golf tickets! Glad you went; sounds fun! I love chicken items too and have recently sold a few of my small collection (still downsizing). Those owls are fab! Wouldn't some rubbing alcohol remove the anniversary print on that hurricane shade pretty easily, Karen? Wonderful FBMP sales!!! Agree with your tips for listing on FBMP. I do porch pick up mostly, but appointments with buyers have to be before the sun starts setting. No one gets my address until they confirm before they're ready to come over and make sure I tell people that I need to let my HOA know they are coming. We really enjoy your videos, best thrifting/reselling videos on UA-cam!!! You asked for comments on buying those opened Qtips or personal use items? Absolutely a huge NO on using those Qtips at any price since they have been opened and exposed to possible contamination. As an RN I recommend not using them, ears or anywhere, not worth it to take a chance on contamination. We agree we would never buy or use any personal care item that had the seal broken or opened , though I have bought and enjoyed coffee k-cups and other sealed and dated items. Going to a pga tournament is so fun. The company I worked for had a hospitality tent right next to the putting range at a men’s tournament. I could almost reach out and touch Tiger as he bounced the ball off his putter about 100 times. Never thought of my self as a golf groupie but I sure was one that day..
I’ve commented before about food items etc but Yes! If it’s not expired absolutely! Q-tips, Cleaning supplies paper products etc…. Absolutely! I hardly ever pay full price for those types of products. Good pick up on the Q-tips and cascade!
I think hurricane shades are fluted and wider at the top. I think the other end she did not look at was the smaller end that goes in the lamp. Goodwill will stand glass items with the wider end on the bottom for stability. Go back Karen and re-check them again…lol!
Your videos are my favorites! I love seeing you and Rodger going to flea markets and Good Will, but all videos are great. Thanks for all the great content!
What you're need for your lamp is a glass chimney, not a hurricane. Chimneys are tapered at the bottom to fit into the lamp. Hurricanes are flared at the bottom. Chimneys are widely available at Walmart and on Amazon.
Yes on buying things I can use if in good condition. I found furnace filters which are very expensive ($20-$35 each?) for $5 at Goodwill still wrapped. More and more I pick up personal use items if new or newer. Not hygiene items but things new in package or things that I can easily clean. The mushroom salt pepper you picked up is Hull pottery. We had that exact set when I was a kid in the 70’s. Not sure you mentioned this or I missed it. I assume you do cash only for FBMP? And you have that in your listing?
Hi Karen!! Yes, you do look pretty in that blue blouse, and your makeup was perfection!! Also, those wildlife scene carved candles, use to be sold at the mall kiosks during the holidays. The base they used was most likely bought from a hobby shop to as a plaque, but they used it as a base. I remember that they were big dust collectors! No one wanted to burn them because there was so much work gone into them.
I just found some thrifting, not a Goodwill. I asked a worker if they had any and she said they did but they mostly keep them in the back because they don’t sell well. I purchased 3 for 50 cents each and if none of those work, they have more in the back.
Karen you always makes me giggle! This time it was We have a red head! then Walking down the jenga aisle!t then the Mish mash aisle! I've just started selling on marketplace so thanks for the tips! Those lead light lamps are just gorgeous! As are the vintage mirrors! Cheers from Oz 🦘
My mother's seamstress did for me as well. Got the scraps from many gowns made. Wish my brat brother had not thrown them out behind my back to get even with me for moving out first. I had no idea all I'd saved for years and he threw out. Never have forgiven him for that,..
I would pick up Q-Tips all day everyday, opened or not. I would not buy any shampoos or conditioners or body lotions. Cleaning supplies would probably be alright. You rock! Thanks for sharing your Wild Adventures!
The shipping and VAT costs from US to Europe unfortunately stop me from purchasing anything, but I am soooo glad you picked that Bambi planter, I would love him!
Hi Roger and Karen. I hope you are having a wonderful Sunday. Thank you for the FBM tips. I've only listed once on the platform but will try again. Thank you for the tips. Do you accept cash only or other forms of payment on the platform. By the way, you were radiating on your patio.
FYI: I found a Viking art glass Red Vase that had a 25th anniversary label on it. I took a magic eraser and removed the writing pretty easily! I sold it! You could use that lamp you found that had 25th anniversary and take that off possibly!
I shop for groceries at what is called a salvage grocery. I go there first and plan the month with what I find. I often get gourmet foods. I buy meats and yogurt in bulk packaging. I shop goodwill for sewing fabric. I would say Qtips are ok. Looks like a kid got hold of it. The only precaution I would say is I would carefully look at the area around the opening. I would throw away the nearest ones to the opening. Great deal.
I love trash picking. About a month ago i saw a really good quality bed on the st. The next morning i was thinking about it, drove back and it was still there. took it home and isted it, made $150! I had been buying furniture for weeks, it took a month and a half to find a queen headborad ad frame for $80, so i knew beds were expensive. Next week i found a very large rug on the street, clean no stains, took it homem measured it, listed it and vacuumed it twice, sold for $50
Karen, @ 16:53 they’re also can be called a kerosene glass chimney, if that helps, sometimes big hardware stores have them, and also 2nd-hand (junk) stores. ❤ check also the lamp section in goodwill.

You are so welcome! Love you guys!
Your videos are my favorites! I love seeing you and Rodger going to flea markets and Good Will, but all videos are great. Thanks for all the great content!
Yes I would buy qtips
Excellent video. Thank you for sharing your Marketplace tips. I have some old cash registers that need to go!
What you're need for your lamp is a glass chimney, not a hurricane. Chimneys are tapered at the bottom to fit into the lamp. Hurricanes are flared at the bottom. Chimneys are widely available at Walmart and on Amazon.

I want to thank you for being such an inspiration to so many of us who struggle to resell on facebook marketplace.
Wasn't the color of the day blue? If so, the Hershey set was blue tag. Love your videos. Thanks for all you do.
4:28 Q-tips are great for cleaning small corners, so yes I would buy them.
You should mention cash only and I carry no change. And no bargaining. Would that be right?
I am open to reasonable offers and price accordingly
I would def buy the tips 😊
Yes on buying things I can use if in good condition. I found furnace filters which are very expensive ($20-$35 each?) for $5 at Goodwill still wrapped. More and more I pick up personal use items if new or newer. Not hygiene items but things new in package or things that I can easily clean.
The mushroom salt pepper you picked up is Hull pottery. We had that exact set when I was a kid in the 70’s.
Not sure you mentioned this or I missed it. I assume you do cash only for FBMP?
And you have that in your listing?
Karen, the Hershey snowman set was blue tag. You could have had it half price, right?
I need one of those shades too. I agree with you that they used to be a dime a dozen but now I can’t find them.
I just found some thrifting, not a Goodwill. I asked a worker if they had any and she said they did but they mostly keep them in the back because they don’t sell well. I purchased 3 for 50 cents each and if none of those work, they have more in the back.
Your back garden looks beautiful.
My Mother also made my Barbie doll clothes and sold them at Christmas time.
My mother's seamstress did for me as well. Got the scraps from many gowns made. Wish my brat brother had not thrown them out behind my back to get even with me for moving out first. I had no idea all I'd saved for years and he threw out. Never have forgiven him for that,..
@@peacenow4456 I wouldn't forgive him eirher
Thank you Karen for all your help!🎉
I would pick up Q-Tips all day everyday, opened or not. I would not buy any shampoos or conditioners or body lotions. Cleaning supplies would probably be alright. You rock! Thanks for sharing your Wild Adventures!
The shipping and VAT costs from US to Europe unfortunately stop me from purchasing anything, but I am soooo glad you picked that Bambi planter, I would love him!
Thanks Karen for sharing Facebook tips! You are getting younger!!! Beautiful you.
Hi Roger and Karen. I hope you are having a wonderful Sunday. Thank you for the FBM tips. I've only listed once on the platform but will try again. Thank you for the tips. Do you accept cash only or other forms of payment on the platform. By the way, you were radiating on your patio.
Cash only
I never buy any textiles from GW that I can’t throw in the washing machine. Brought home lice once yrs ago & that ruined it for me🤦♀️
Ohhhh gross! I’ve never had any bug issues!! Our Goodwill spray all linens
FYI: I found a Viking art glass Red Vase that had a 25th anniversary label on it. I took a magic eraser and removed the writing pretty easily! I sold it! You could use that lamp you found that had 25th anniversary and take that off possibly!
The cat bank is from the forties....Old I had one from my childhood....antique.
Your yard is just beautiful! Thank you for all the help and fun videos you make. I look forward to them so much each time!
Great deal.
I'm grateful to you for make this videos you are a beautiful nice person 😇 ❤
Yes I would pick up the Qtips and the dishwasher soap. It’s shameful how much we waste in the USA.
Karen, thank you for sharing all the selling tips and safety awareness. As always, it's a pleasure to listen and watch your videos.
Next week i found a very large rug on the street, clean no stains, took it homem measured it, listed it and vacuumed it twice, sold for $50
One of your best episodes, Karen! Nice job.
Always love your videos and Love that landscape! Give us another tour of your landscape, I would love to know what some of those plants are.
Noted! 💜
I pick up a lot to use personally, gift, and sometimes resell. Why not if the item passes scrutiny?
I believe the res lobster was sold in Lowes. I used to have one in the garden by our pool. One of my daughters had picked it out.
You missed a hurricane shade when you picked up the glass dog.
Karen, @ 16:53 they’re also can be called a kerosene glass chimney, if that helps, sometimes big hardware stores have them, and also 2nd-hand (junk) stores. ❤ check also the lamp section in goodwill.
Love to see what your finds sold for. Great job!
thank you for the info on facebook market place. I will start selling right away. I have watched you for 2 years and I'm so happy for you and Roger. Love and light to you both.......
