I love the bed tray because I not only own the exact one, but bought probably 30 years ago ! It was a big spurge for a 20 year old. I dreamed about making myself breakfast in bed on the weekends and making a special breakfast. Well reality and life while your 20 changes things. However, I have used it for my family, my kids, husband, and Mom in her last days. I still have it and love it and now have too many memories of ever think of selling it. It’s was made so well still works great. 😊❤😂
Karen, on the quilt in the bins that had damage, there are many of us crafters that buy those types of quilts even damaged, for crafting, and other projects like quilt coats. You could sell for a profit especially priced at the bins. Just a thought for you!
I visited Lancaster last Thursday and went to Goodwill. I saw Roger there and went over to introduce myself and say hi. I was bummed out you weren't there too. Maybe next time :) Marianela
We have a full set of those rooster Metlox dishes and use them for our everyday use. We love them (have had them for 13 years now! Our kitchen is in a farmhouse rooster theme, so they go nicely!
Shearling baby bunting from French Creek Sheep and Wool Co., which was in Elverson, PA. I worked there back in the 1980s. The buntings were their signature product. Excellent find.
Do you guys watch Jami Ray Vintage? They rescue the heck outta quilts!! They sell them on Saturday Nights, they do a live and go over all the fantastic junk they get to resell!! 💙
The Bamboo trunk would look beautiful sitting open on a fireplace hearth with some fire wood in it. I loved the pig creamer but you passed up a little later in the video the cow creamer. So cute. That Goodwill is terrific. Enjoyed
That baby bunting was gorgeous! One thing that I did like was that pair of birch candlestick holders. The wide curved base was so unique that I think they would be a conversation piece.
My parents have had the entire collection of ...rooster...ware dishes. This set is so old, there was no such thing as a dishwasher or microwave. I was the dishwasher 😅😅😅😅
The bamboo trunk! Even you can use it in your home is beautiful full of wool and linen blankets in your bedroom will look absolutely amazing, if a sale simple small baskets with nothing just simple for 50 I am sure that trunk will sale for lots more! I love your show I look forward every time come home running to see it! Thanks for you 😊
The quilt was lovely! I'd disclose the flaw and price accordingly. The trunk was beautiful as well. I was already styling and placing it in my library. I think the very low prices you are still looking for are not very much available anymore. GW has appraisers and a website, so they know the value of their items. Thank you!
Do we love when we pick up our phone and see a notification that you put out a new video? Yes we do! I aknow by the time you read this, it will be too late, but there was another piece that matched the piece of artwork that you picked up on the very top shelf behind a couple of things. I saw the frame and the top of the art and knew it was the same as the one that you had picked up well not exactly the same, but you know what I mean. Ha ha ha😊
I just discovered you and your videos. I am a second generation Eastern Long Islander (Hamptons)...hearing you say things like schmutz, oy vey, tschotske.....I love it! Brings me back to my Long Island days!!!!Not only that, but you look at all the exact same things I would look at!!! I think we are sisters!!!! Lol. Love you and your videos...say hi to Roger!!!
Oh my! You didn't look at the clear glass and I understand you aren't into it, BUT I just found a thrifter who specializes in glass!!! He's has short videos packed with information! I got so excited to learn about what he presented, I watched ALL of his videos! If you ever get the time you may enjoy Thrift 4 decor, if you haven't seen him yet... I found out I own some pretty valuable items myself!
@@vickiehanan5686 his channel is THRIFT 4 DECOR... quick moving, fun fellow but I don't recall his name. I think he may say it briefly at the beginning of the video... Dr.Lori is also giving out plenty of good info on China and glass. Karen turned us on to her!
Yes the rattan bed tray is probably from the 1970's or maybe 1980's . I kick myself from getting rid of all the rattan and wicker I had !!! It sells pretty good !!
Trunk Buy Question: Back in the years we set up Estate Auction Previews, Estate Sales, Consignment Booths and even Community Garage sales there was always one key principle to the set-up work. That was to feature those items that would be the best draw or catch the shopper's eye, to get potential buyers to stop and look or in the case of bidders, to hang around for the sale. So we would intentionally select items in high demand or brightly colored (reds, blues, yellows, etc) to be featured on the first tables, counters and shelves where the people entered the area. Sometimes, the selected items were not the most expensive items in the sale, but they were the most interesting or colorful, to catch the eye or chosen to appeal to a wide variety of buyers. For instance, a full size pick-up might have the most value, but a bright red vintage Tractor or a horse drawn carriage would make people stop and look. Those were the items parked out at the road to draw the eye in. This same idea translates to sourcing items for a booth (like the woven trunk), those items that naturally catch the eye or make people want to stop, look and touch are good buys, even if they are not always good profit margins. You have to get people to pick your booth over all the others to browse in. Then, just as when sourcing, the items have to be priced for good value to close the sale. This is why you pick-up items in Goodwill and look them over for quality first, then check the price. Rule 1 is: you have to get potential buyers to stop and ponder. Even though we do on-line auctions these days (for smaller physical items), instead of working for a large brick and mortar suction house, the concept is the same. If the opening page of an auction web site shows thumb nail photos of 20 auction lots, those first 20 offerings are the key. They should be filled with high demand, eye catching lots that make several potential bidders want to see all the lots in an auction. If you can't catch their interest on the first page, they may not scroll to the next page. One of the auction companies that does House Clear-outs, via one-line sales, in our area has never learned this. They typically start their lot photos in the kitchen showing off run of the mill dishes and cleaning supplies under the counter. Then they do the bathrooms. Later Lots might be Riding Mowers, Gold Jewelry, Artisan Pottery, Rolling Tool Chests or antiques, but that first page is filled with the worst products they need to shift for their clients. Their methodology always confounds me. I look at most of their lot sequencing and ask myself why would anyone with a house to empty give the job to these folks. A Lot of coffee cups might be lot 6, while a $400 Kayak is Lot 360. You want everyone bidding on those early lots, so they are mentally committing to engage in the sale and to drive to pick-up their wins. Once they have won a lot, then the mental process of many buyers is that they might as well bid on other items, since they are making the trip anyway. This is similar to booth purchases. Once a buyer selects the first item, knowing they will have to stop and pay, they then consider a second or third item, too.
The Goodwills around me, Clinton, Maryville, OakRidge & Knoxville TN seem to be weaning out everything. Less donations? Updating their stores? The Karm thrift stores haven't slowed down but the are even higher than GW. Can't wait to start the yard & rummage sales plus estate sales. Have a beautiful day!!!❤
Loved that mirror. I would have bought the trunk. And the Phalscraft serving pieces. Twin size quilt would be nice to make into a vest, jacket, or purse.
Yes yes on the trunk. I love those. I have several baskets like that that i store things in within my decor which is African inspired. Even if they could buy for 25.00 they might not find it and 10.00 is abt half off. Also you could use it to style with in your booth.
Hi Karen. Those Corelle French lilac dishes may have been a good pickup. On Worthpoint 4 bowls sold for $50-$70! Dishes not as high but still good to split up into sets of four. Shipping is more manageable. Love your narrative! I have to try Montgomeryville….looks like a better quality of stuff than Allentown!
Fun as always! I think the 4 print of rabbits were taken out of a vintage picture book. That was a Japanese/Asian tea cup - no handles. Sake cups are much smaller, about the size of a shot glass. 😉
OMG…I have my grandmothers Poppy Trail rooster dishes! Was so excited to see you found some. I have been holding on to it since I knew it was vintage. So glad that I have it ❤

Karen, if the markings in the Sonoma bowls are not actual chips from the beaters, I think you could get them out very easily with power paste. Scrub Daddy makes it for a reasonable price. I hope that helps in the future! 🤗
It looks like the Corning (corelle) plates are the French Lilac pattern from 2006-2008 and Discontinued. Appears hard to find and hardly any listsings, just one plate was around $8-9. I would list that whole set!

I love it too.

Good to know!

You make a great point there!

I don't understand how Pfaltzgraff isn't more sought after. Their items are pretty good quality and they have some really good patterns. 🤷♀️

The trunk/chest is very pretty. Lots of people can't afford a "type" of decor, mix n match for me :).
Shearling baby bunting from French Creek Sheep and Wool Co., which was in Elverson, PA. I worked there back in the 1980s. The buntings were their signature product. Excellent find.
I worked there too in the early 80s. They had high quality sheepskin products.
Gorgeous Williams Sonoma orange bowl trio!
You can easily get those metal utensil scratches/beater marks out with Barkeeper's Friend.
Love the trunk. It would be great in a closet for storing winter hats and gloves in the off season.
Ooooo loved the trunk basket. They don’t make things like that quality anymore . It could go as a picnic basket too!
I’d pay $50 for sure .
Yes I would have got the trunk goes with so many different styles of decor
Yes I agree with Cavaughan57....start picking up those quilts and let us crafters save them from the landfills ❤
How much would crafters pay for those quilts? Shipping could be expensive… just wondering, I am also a reseller

Such great artwork at that store! The pretty Corelle plates look like the French Lilac pattern
I loved the big trunk.
There are a lot of pricey neighborhoods not far from the Montgomeryville GW, hence the nice donations. Love the pig creamer‼️ Adorable!!
The trunk is fabulous. I wouldn't have left that behind.
That trunk would just about go with any decor. Would look nice with some florals or greenery inside with lid open. I love it.
The trunk and tray are the best.
