Thank you for the content … I know it is very time consuming for your already extremely busy and hot days but I would like to say I personally appreciate your content … greatness only comes with hard work and dedication…
The colors your fish have are always so nice. Even the obes that are not "chosen". Does your beautiful anacharis ever flower? Mine did for the first time ever this summer. So pretty. I wonder if yours did if the fish would eat the flowers 🤔
We'll do a video just on swordtails sometime. How we raise them has changed. We used to place about 6 males and 40 females in a 55-gallon vat with a fry cage in the center and hornwort floating at the top. Fry cages are cylinders of aquaculture netting with a bottom. It provides shelter for the fry. The adults are outside the cage. We'd leave the adults in the vat for 3-4 months and then remove them to a new vat set up the same. But today, we simply add about that many swordtails to a 300-gallon cichlid breeding vat. The vat has a couple of fry cages and some cichlid hotels (you can see some in some videos) hanging on the side. The swordtails are harvested along with the cichlids every 3-4 months. Charles
The plants seem to be thriving. A sump video is planned but Susie is going to be traveling for a week, so it'll have to wait until she returns. Charles

Thank you very much. I enjoy doing the videos and passing on what I've learned, usually the hard way.

That's a very lovely fish! Those swords were HUGE! Don't forget that sump video!
That sump probably looks neet these days
We select for size in swordtails, and it works. We plan to do a sump video soon.

I’m loving that you’ve been able to regularly upload recently. Wonderful fish as always! (especially those swords 😮)
We hope to post a couple of videos a week for now on. I'm pleased with how our swordtails are doing with the cichlids.

I have never seen so big and beautifull swordtail. The ones you showed in the small tank❤
We use the small tank to video the fish. After a few generations of selecting for size in swordtails, we're getting some results.
Charles
that was a beautiful male, I Hope to see more of them as they grow.
@PRINCESSDREAMYLYN We will show more of them in about 4 months.
Charles
👍🏽
Thank you for watching.

I think the colors result from genetics, food, and a healthy environment. No blooms that I've seen.

Do you have a video of how you breed swordtails? How do the fry remain uneaten by the adult fish? How and what do you feed them?

@@goliadfarms7029 enjoy yourselves and thank u
@@MARKluvsAZcards Susie is traveling. She's abandoning me and the dogs to our own devices. We might survive.

Beautiful swordtails. What is the name? TIA
I call them Blushing Swordtails because of the faint red they display.
Charles
@@goliadfarms7029 thanks for the response
@@markfranklin8831 No problem. That's what I'm here for.

Swords are impressive
Female like this will have 200 fry. My personal recrd is 282 fry from close to 4 inch
I kept her away from male till that size
@Spacenow869 We get fewer from female, but there is lots of predation. Only the swift and careful fry survive.
Charles
@goliadfarms7029 I guess you breed the fittest (-:
😁
Thank you for watching.
