BallisticNG is literally proof that you can make low demanding, low poly games that have great gameplay and graphics. We need more games like this. Not stuff like pubg where the game is almost 100% payed assets that bloat the game like mods and run horribly although I do love playing pubg(pre hacker infestation).
Good point. Furthermore, games are becoming heavily reliant on profits, making them pretty awful. It's half of the reason why i play games before the 2010s, sometimes even from the 1980s.

I know this comment is old, but in it's current state, BNG is definitely a loveletter to those first three games. In spades. The entire suite. Windows, Mac, Linux, splitscreen, Steam Deck, full controller support, game mode modding, ship modding, level modding, hand-built ship importer and map building tools, even more expansions, and five hours of Jungle, Rave, Big Beat, Techno, and Drum n Bass music. Icing on the cake is it absolutely has a 95%+ approval rating.
I'm glad I found this game. It has such a retro vibe to it. The circuits are just amazing. And in VR it's like a dream come true, like you are living the description from a 60s cyberpunk book.
besides the cleaner graphics (antialiasing and supersampling that could be done on emulator) the framerate in BNG is delicious, so fluid, i think the framerate crowns this Wipeout homage perfectly, but its more original content and tracks, and specially custom tracks like the ones made by Enai Siaion are way better than the vintage games, of course sans the spirit and nostalgia.
Having started with wipEout Fusion on Ps2 I was looking for a pc port but couldn't find it no matter how hard I looked, this is a blessing upon the earth.
somebody remade XL in NG ? i knew it wasn't XL because the explosion effects look different, the background is missing & some of the sound effects & UI are different.
We use to play vs on the wipeout 2097. turn for turn and whomever got the fastest time won in a knockout winner takes all style tournament while drinking in high school. lets just say the russian team won me no.1 time and time again. they were hard to learn at first due to low handling, but once you got that sorted the fact they had the highest top speed out of the ships none could stand against them.
This looks amazing and I want to have this MOD without using discord. I just dont like the program. But what made this video funny, was that it doesnt have music.... but my Spotfy decided to play Doh-T by Cold Storage as I was watching this :D
And on which version of the game have you tested this HUD? For example, in version 1.2.5, this HUD can be enabled from the mods menu, but you cannot choose among the pre-installed HUDs, there is only Vanilla HUD and nothing else. At least that's how it is with me.
Always with the beta versions. Make sure to read the instructions and txt files to know what version to use and how to make it work. And in case of the WTRP stuff, make sure CodeMods are properly installed and enabled.
It's definitely great, but there is still opportunity for improvement. Like even though you can race many of the tracks and ships from the original Wipeout, the game uses different physics. If the option to have physics from the other titles were there, it would be closer!

Presentation matters, and presentation can be done in many different ways.
bro what are you talking about, pubg doesn't run like shit anymore, you could play that shit on a ryzen APU
this man speaks the truth
AND they added VR
I actually played Ballistic before I had played any of the wipeout games -- had such a great time that I went ahead and tracked down the originals!
SAME!
same! part of it is i can't emulate bng on my 3ds but i can get wipeout 1 and 2 going pretty smoothly
...I legit thought this was Wipeout 2097 until I saw the UI. Holy shit.
I though it was Wipeout too until the video quality hit 60fps
Me too.
this runs so smooth i actually teared up
Best thing is, that I can play it in VR from the cockpit point of view. Runs butter smooth at 144FPS. And looks amazing in the process...

The lack of music is giving me demo disc flashbacks...
I really thought this was a meme video with the real wo2097 until the end when the menu poped. This is insane!!
Dolby surround sound and a projector screen would do this some serious justice!!!
I played a lot of Wipeout XL back in the day. This looks great.
This view distance, smoothness and resolution... wet dream od 7 yo me back to psx era
love this game got it to play with my vr headset and it rocks.
I can barely distinguish this from regular 2097/XL

I'm buying this tomorrow in the Winter sale. It looks so sweet.
this is the coolest thing i've ever seen, i gotta try stuff like this in bng sometime
This is definetly capture Th Remastered of 2097
someone in the official discord actually started to rant about how people made ballistic into wipe out 3 like not the nice rants either

One of my alltime favourites, bought a n64 once Just to be able to Play wipeout 64. Great games
WO64 is one of the weakest versions of it, but if you tried the PSX ones, you defo enjoyed it to the max.
This is literally wipeout 2097
Can't wait for BallisticNG300, with the Pure physic :D

Yeah, but mods and other stuff for BNG is only available on fckn Steam, that I don't have.
how did you get the classic announcer?
How can I obtain the Wipeout 2097 hud??? Thanks

How the hell did you get that HUD
Its on their discord. On the mods section
I was so good at this game back in the day
all you need now is music, looks great though!
Nicely done but the unshakable feeling of being only 90% accurate makes me want a source port of WOXL and Wipeout 3 Special Edition instead.
Emulation! It’s easy to get the original games and play them via an emulator (Duckstation, Retroarch, etc…)
@@yvesrn emulation limits the frame rate and for some games and hardware configurations limits performance

Can I get info where to get mods please?

this feels much closer to wipeout 3 judging by the footage
If you use the 2280 physics mode, you can get it close to Fusion and subsequent games. 2159, the default physics is akin to Wipeout, 2097, 64 and 3.
i remember playing Wip3out on N64 :3
That wasn't Wip3out or it wasn't an N64.
How do you play Ballistic? I'm always hitting the walls compare to Wipeout games, is there any settings i'm missing?
sometimes simplistic graphics with fun gameplay is greater than realistic graphics with boring gameplay.

Dear Lord I need BNG. I love 2097 and Wip3. Best wipeout clone, maybe even better than pacer? Idk
just platinum'd all of BNG. excited for the new DLC too. where'd you get this old track clone? thanks
ayo what
hello, is this ballistic ng? If yes how can i make the phyisics like this? I hate the ballistics original physics.
Yoo, is this like a Wipeout source port?
Almost. It's an open source AG racing game called BallisticNG, modded to look and sound like Wipeout

Doesn't the autopilot always force a ride through the recharge lane? 1/10! probably the worst Wipeout pretender.
in ballistic you can force the path autopilot takes by holding a direction when approaching a split
