      - It's really AMAZING because just a few seconds before scrolling down to your comment, I was thinking about my obsession of these last 2 years, concisting of writing a whole novel based on such a race in the future, with a minute description of the environment, architecture, the way those people will dress according to new fashions, etc etc (just like in blade runner actually)... -- > your comment makes me feel like starting it off !

I feel like the omega collection's contributions can be pretty solidly explained as either non Canon, since it both wasn't made by liverpool and is just an anthology of 2048 and HD/Fury with some alterations, or the existence of Van-Über and Tigron as cameos, similar to the way arc system works often included Justice and Kliff Undersn in the X and XX series of guilty gear, despite the lore recognizing their deaths.

But I must say Assegai and Harimau are my new favorites. In a world where the AGRC is reality, I would love to be involved with those two teams. Assegai because I'm an African who's passionate about promoting motorsport in my continent, and Harimau because I'm also a hypocrite tree-hugger. SAVE THE TIGERS!!

    • @wieldylattice3015

Worst part is that it wasn’t even initially illegal. There was no rule against it. Triakis just thought: hey this tech could be useful in AG racing. Instead of encouraging other teams to experiment with similar technology, the league outright decided to make the tech illegal out of the blue, robbing Triakis of what I see as a pretty legitimate victory for a first timer

I love how the Quirex ship represents the aggressive nature and financial muscle of the team. While it's not a top-contender in any particular discipline, their ship has practically no flaws. The sold top-speed coupled with good acceleration secures a good mid-field position at the beginning of a race, the handling allows them to tackle even highly technical tracks with no real issues and the heavy weight together with effective shielding makes it very difficult to stop a Quirex ship in its advance.

The different leagues represent the different eras of AG racing, like the F3600, F5000, etc. Racing seasons occur annually within these leagues. The one that collapsed was the F9000 (Fusion era) following mass corruption within the league organisation. There was actually an amateur league set up after Fusion called the FX150, which led to the FX300 being formed in Wipeout Pure. The upcoming fan-game SlipStream GX is set in the FX150.

I always thought AG-Systems was one of main contenders in the league, their aircraft handling is agile and feels intuitive, its special weapon that brings opponent's shield down is a stroke of genius, one sneeze and you're out of the race.Anyways, this is a top notch presentation, your narration has done an excellent job to make it believable.

This would have meant that AG Systems were just as violent as Goteki 45 and Tigron, despite the weaker shielding. In fact, their superweapon in 64 (a missile that completely destroys all their shield energy and will leave even a solid ram to eliminate them), inspired that of Tigron’s in the F9000.

The only thing not mentioned is Pascal Rouser got them a season win in 2168 before they backed out and focused on public transport in North America. The stories finish off with essentially the predictions for the future, based on statements from each team which will obviously be biased. Flaubert and McQueen both worked for AG Systems and were dismissed at the same time, but it was always Flaubert's intention to start her own AG team when she left whereas McQueen only did it in response to her after finding Qirex Industries were willing to accommodate him. That took a long time. Their rivalry manifests in the teams they left behind.

I've always thought it ironic how the characteristics of Auricom's and Qirex's ships swapped around Fusion and Pure.
In the PS1 games Auricom was the well-rounded, jack of all trades in performance (with an emphasis on mass), while Qirex emphasized top speed and shields and lacked maneuverability. However since Pure, Auricom is more of a top speed and shields ship with less agility while Qirex is more well-rounded with an emphasis on shields and mass.

This is probably the most accurate history behind the Wipeout Series. Your efforts and those that have helped you have been recognized greatly from us, the fans. Thank you! This was very enjoyable to watch!! :D

The jump to ps2 graphics is amazing, really shows how much of a game changer the ps2 really was.

That jump to hardware accelerated 3D that started with 3dfx, it was big jump for graphics, that PS1 kind of miss on that

Was wondering if you would update this video series with the recent Omega Collection ships from Van Uber and Tigron.
Also do a parallel story on the BallisticNG teams :)

It just dawned on me, but I LOVE that you've added lore to why Triakis was absolutely busted in Pure, as well as the nerfs it received in Pulse

In the Piranha Advancements segment, although they have developed a prototype weaponless perfect AG racer in the F5000 era but only until the end of the 2097 season. When the 2098 season began, Piranha developed an AG racer with weapons but still very top end in all areas (in Wipeout 64 - if canon).

WipEout 64 is still canon, as the F5000 Race Commission green-lit the use of team-specific super-weapons and expanded the race calendar.

"Founded by pierre belmondo in 2017" lol look at the year, and we still have cars that get 3 miles per gallon on the road

Pierre Belmondo might have gotten inspiration for the AG Systems prototype in the AGRC from the Bugatti Divo, and both are vehicles that specialize heavily in agility.

The newer track designs and graphics strike me as a hybrid of Drome Racers and Ratchet And Clank.
Also, I've been trawling back through the various soundtracks to see what else would fit the backstory (and Hellfire's narration thereof) for each team, and I've come up with this alternate tracklist:
FEISAR: Orbital - Know Where To Run
AG Systems: CoLD SToRAGE - Body In Motion
Auricom: Fluke - Atom Bomb (Straight 6 Instrumental Edit)
    Qirex: Noisia - Seven Stitches
Piranha: Paul Van Dyk - Avenue
Assegai: Future Sound Of London - Landmass
Goteki 45: The Prodigy - Firestarter (Instrumental Mix)
Icaras: DJ Fresh - X-Project (100% Pure Mix)
Van-Uber: BT - Smartbomb (Plump DJs Remix)
Harimau: Timo Maas - Old School Vibes
Triakis: Ed, Rush, Optical & Matrix - Frontline
    EG-X: Utah Saints - Sick
    Mirage: Sasha - Xpander (Edit)

Out of curiosity, will this ever get a Version 2? Since Van Uber and Tigron reappeared again when WipEout Omega Collection released.

Tigron reappeared as a single ship.

    • @gbalao8885
      @gbalao8885 2 роки тому

Tigron have managed to operate under the shadows after being rumored to have collapsed after the fall of the F9000, and what was seen was their K-VSR that sacrificed all aspects of performance in favor of extreme speed (making it fragile and hard to control). Thus, Tigron became a ghost of a team ready to haunt the track once more.
