LONDON'S BEST INDIAN CHAI BAKERY | CHAI GUYS BAKEHOUSE | NOTTING HILL | PORTOBELLO ROAD | DHOKLA |

- This video covers the amazing adventures of Lali discovering Indian Culture in London. This video is very special because it's all about my favourite Indian drink, Chai!
Chai Guys was co-founded by Abhilash Jobanputra and Gabriel Unger, both met working at Deloitte and after becoming friends they often discussed the idea of selling Indian chai. They could see a gap in the market for authentic Indian Chai in London, so they bravely departed from their safe jobs to set up their business together.
This video explores the journey they have both gone on up to the present day - now they've opened a Chai Guys Bakehouse!
Special credits go to ;
Asia, Ameena, Nelson and Clothilde - all of whom work hard to create the best products at Chai Guys.
My friends Shankar and Amberish who always put up with me making these vlogs and happily join in and don't mind being on camera or helping out filming.

I admit, there chai is fantastic, i was sceptical at first but they arte the best chai stall in London, yeah we can say we make better at home but I haven't bought a chai in London that tastes as good as theres
I'm so glad you agree!!!
@@LondonkiLali👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
thewy have a stall at spitalfields too@@Seekthetruth-michael
Chai is Indian, you dnt have to mention Indian with chai, Pakistan, bngaldesh , were India ,and chai went to Nepal and Sri Lanka from India
@@NishantSingh-qe7vv Where did he mention any of this? Faltu me gyan bante kyu aa jate ho har jagah.
Your forgetting the Samosa. Chai and samosa is the classic combination.
Where is the pakodas? Rainy days in London needs a nice hot plate of onion bhaji / fritters / pakodas.
100%! Also, I do hope that if they make pakoras, then they dont deviate much from the original.
Pakode lelo pakode 10 ka ek 10 ka ek
Paneer Pakoda, gobhi pakoda, pyaj pakoda, mirch pakoda, aloo pakoda, tutti frutti pakoda, vanilla pakoda, chocolate pakoda, mirch pakoda, pani puri pakoda

All the pastries looks delicious!!
I got so happy when I saw the Dhokla!! I just had Dhokla this morning for breakfast and It’s my favourite 😂❤

Oh my goodness yes!! And they are creating new things all the time! Can’t wait for cardamom infused Bunmaska 😮😮😊
Stunning vid!
I would be sugar because I am sweet. Wow what a wonderful line.
Wow that was so refreshing chai
Bakery items look yummy 😋
Just WOW...
Terrific! Kudos.
OMG that chai au raisin made me drool. Will certainly seek out the shop next time in London
😄😄😄
Very impressive. Got to try this place.
They sound so good! Especially theur dedication to experimentation & pastries and how they're infusing dhokla & Kashmiri chai too! Like they're really knowledgeable on there! We definitely need them in India too! Especially those pastries OMG ❤
Great. Keep it going - Good luck to Chai team. Nice video.🎉
Chai O Raisin sounds so good❤
Good and sounds a dedicated chai enterprise- if I can name it that
👌 wow
Wow got to go there 👌🏼
Cant wait😊
Really good find, thank you. Well balanced presentation and review. The chai looks authentic and hopefully will taste same. Will be interesting to try muska-bun. Not sure so much about dhokla. On my itinerary when I come down to London. Thank you
Ah thank you! I’m glad you enjoyed the video! Hopefully you’ll get to experience chai guys chai soon!
Wow absolutely amazing to hear I’ll definitely going & trying it out all those 3 chais & dhoklas & pastries too they’ve got it right & maybe introduce the other bun they mentioned but keep to what they do best now & wishing you all the very best of success you’re both incredible amazing guys to have opened up this must go place thank you & for sharing too ❤🙏🏼😎
Love from Auckland.. Everyday starts with masala chai.. Need that to refresh and get ready for work😄
Pronouncing Masala, Kulhad, Dhokla so perfectly... 😯
Nice Video
It helps having learnt to speak Hindi in evening classes. I still make a lot of mistakes pronouncing things though 🤦🏼♀️
I am glad you are making effort to learn Hindi. It will open whole new world for you in terms of Pakistani and North Indian people
Woooowwww, i like this idea and fell in love with this place virtually. 👌🤩 I will definitely visit this bakery as soon as possible because Chai is my most favourite hot beverage.😋
I already love this place. I don't think I'll ever be able to visit but if I do I am definitely going to have chai dhokla and croissant! togehter~!!
Good vlogs amazing ☕☕
Thank you 😊
Good video 👍👍👍😊😊😊😊❤❤❤
Excellent interview. Well done you Boys. Many Thanks.
Glad you enjoyed it! Thanks 🙏🏻
Indian chai 💪👌
loved it😋
So glad!
They have chai joint 😮😮😮
Damn taking chai toh whole new level.
Wow.. Brits know so much about Indian food !!!
Good idea but not the first there are plenty of chai places across the uk! But respect for making a business that is thriving! Go support!
very well done video! Perhaps there is room for pho chaa, the Tibetan salt butter tea. It is a favorite of mine and is especially wonderful where the weather is cold, rainy or gloomy. Since they already have a salty Kashmiri chai, adding pho cha would create a symmetry, 2 salty, 2 sweet. Plus, there are a fair number of Tibetans and those who love the Tibetan culture in and around London.
The publicity value alone would be not inconsiderable, especially if paired with khabse, on the occasion of Losar, the Tibetan New Year. Surely there are business or government grants to enhance the multi-cultural aspects of enjoying London's diverse culinary scene.
British Devon and other butters are very, very good, Bun maska, and Pho Cha containing cream from Ayrshire cows, would be successfull.
Great video!! ❤
Awww glad you liked it! 😄
Best decision ever was to substitute my daily coffee for daily masala chai. Not a weekday goes by without an obligatory trip to Chai Guys Spitalfields near where I work.
🤩 that’s great !
Love the employees humour😂 she would be ginger😂 that's such a fun answer omg
I think the perfect answer would be the humbke tealeaves. It takes the backseat in the conversation about chai with all the spices and possibilities, but chai can be made in the absence of wvery other ingredient but the tealeaves.
Lali .Big fan..great job
Thanks so much
these two guys are good ! Indian connoisseurs!
I know right ! They’re good eggs.
Wow so cool the woman is from my state #AndhraPradesh and promoting Indian blend of bakery 👏👏👍
This is so impressive .. will definitly visit soon
Yay!
👍👍
Just been there , loved it !
Yay 🥳
The Chai based pastries sound amazing , gonna try soon 😊
Hope you enjoy ☺️
I love your videos London Ki Lali!
Oh thank you so much! It means a lot to me, I work very hard on them!
Dammmmm I am jealous
Happy to see Lali's video trending ❤❤
🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳🍾🍾🍾 #trending
Masala chai and normal chai is different. In most parts of India you get Masala infused Chai, whereas in my native Kerala its milk tea. People don't prefer masala.
This is brilliant, very very authentic Indian Chai, bring it to other UK cities, will sell
You can buy it online if you want to buy their chai blend for making chai at home! But yes I'm sure they will look at opening outside of London one day :)
A lot of people might don't know but cardamom is like vanilla for Indians..we use cardamom for desserts for Aroma just like vanilla...
❤❤❤
Lovely Vlog, I was watching this while having my ginger tea ❤
Chai is life 😁
It really is!
This chai place looks really popular
Nice video! Took you 3 years to edit and finalize it, so it was worth the wait! ;)
Thanks for the tip; dropped a pin in my Google Maps for stopping in when I'm next visiting London.
Awww that’s wonderful. Thanks for your kind words. I put a lot of effort into my videos and it’s wonderful when they are appreciated!
I'm addicted to their Chai milk tea
Chai means tea so better to not use chai and tea together
Milk tea = chai
@@deep15399 chai dudh k bina vi hoti hai
OMG and they have KULHADS! AGHH
Lali ji namaste🙏 from kolkata. Nice👍 video
Move over Starr Buck. Indian chai is here to rule. JAI MODIJI!
Frm Malaysia video very entertaining to watch...
Ah that’s so nice! 😊 thank you
hahhahahah Ms Ginger and Clove at 4:15! xD
😂😂 she’s awesome
Good
Given London's rain prone weather where is the onion pakoda, it will be a match made in heaven. Cutting chai and Onion pakoda.
Really hope they sell it there
In India tea tastes very different. I found good tea in Dubai too.
👍
❤🎉😊 thanks
Never heard of this. Im excited to see.
Update: my sis stole the kulad when we went to india in december. Glad to know you can buy them here.
I don’t think you can buy them there yet, they just serve them in kulhad if you having the chai inside.
Do you know where I can see the full list of pastries?? I want to go to this place but wanted to see what they have first and how much everything is
Me watching this from America... I will go there some day soon!
Read my comment.Better places around in London
Have tasted Ladakhi pink chai with salt and Yak butter in it … might be similar to the Kashmiri one… and indeed after the 2nd sip it tastes fine specially at those heights 😊
Sounds great! Would love to try that one day
Please ask them make one more version "Shelajet/Shelajit Chai" it is slight salty and bitter. So you have to add more sugar. Or few drops of it in "Kadak Chai". Sheelajit good for joint pain/back pain cough and cold. Some people say it has aphrodisiac quality, but it is much more then that.
Market it as Indian Viagra tea.
U should add samosas in your menu along with chai...
Chai...Chai...Chai wala....
when did you originally shoot this video? is this a bakery you regularly go to and just recently shoot this vlog?
They should also offer Parle's glucose biscuits to go with the masala chai.
Parle's eaten after being dipped in the chai........ ❤️
They do offer those in some of the stalls.
They need to open this in India. Bangalore would be perfect to start from.
Oooh global expansion. 😮 would to make sure the quality stays the same though.
@@LondonkiLaliimagine being a colonizers and needing a permit to open in your former colony(india)
@@trilokyamohanchakra6351 why are you being mean when someone is being nice
Past is past. New India new us happy us@@trilokyamohanchakra6351
Your not Indian are you? There's a Chai stall on every corner.
Thank god it is called Indian chai and chai latte.. thank u..
Will definitely go try the chai when we visit London. Are the pastries eggless? Do you have vegan options?
In the U.K. vegan means no dairy products at all. There are no non dairy vegan products but there is a vegan chai. Eggless … I’m not sure you’d have to ask.
@@LondonkiLali
Thank you for your reply. I’m ok with dairy but no eggs
Lalli to active to nice
They should probably open a store in india somewhere in mumbai or delhi will definitely be a successful venture
Incredible.. great founders ., fab concept., nice vid ..thx for sharing,, chai guys need to come to San Francisco.. but add filter coffee to the menu
They’re very passionate about chai I don’t they’re ever going to add coffee to the menu
But thanks for your lovely comment 🥰
In a few years (on Wikipedia) Masala chai the national chai of Britain
Little details are given proper heed.
Thanks Lali! ❤
The dholka looks flat and dense.. it should fluffy and well risen...
Welcome India our French open ❤
At boroughs food market the tea truck where ladies make good tea.
Wish to be there to go to this place. As brazilian I would like to know if it s possible to make indian chai as a cold drink for summer time.
Yeah! In the summer they do iced chai it’s nice 👌🏻
LOL Indians drink hot tea even if it's 50 degree outside and that too in open environment with no AC just fan.....
Genuinely enjoyed watching this video 👍🏼
Glad you enjoyed it!
I’v never had a chai 😯
Visit the Bhatt community in Rajasthan who make the most tasty chai in Bharat.
Use Copper Vessels as they incense more spice and the chai tastes awesome.
all the best 🙂
Thanks for the tips!
Only things missing are the green and yellow tuktuk inside the shop or for that matter a recording of a railway platform announcing arrival or departure of trains !!!
Haha great suggestions but they’ve got their own unique simplistic style and I think it works nicely.
I drink tea 5 times in a day 😋
Me too sometimes 🙈
Test forever world 🌍
Bring it to airports please 🙏🏻
Best desi chai is in Bradford, London just adds a bit of sprinkle and think that's it, more power to the north
Bradford is a very cool city I’ll give you that!
@@LondonkiLali one thing I've noticed about this channel is the lack of Pakistani content when discussing desi food just remember Karachi, Lahore are two of the centers of original India
I agree!! I need to do more exploring Pakistani culture in the U.K. if you watch the Hounslow video I go to a Pakistani falooda place and it’s so good!!!
