Nice fix on that gate. Top tip: when vertical welding stick, weld UP. When you weld down, the flux from your weld puddle is falling down and you weld over the junk. Plus, when you are welding up, your new weld has something to sit on. And bump your amps down 10-15%. God bless!
That's what the cows said, I'm not sure what they were watching, but a nice view is always interesting to note. It's great to see how the calves appreciate the new bedding. Both of those machines look good working, I don't have a fav yet. Too bad about ur cam magnet. Good video. Pax.
It always tickles me to see the Ladies jumping an dancing around when they get new bedding, They are happy !!! Thank You for your videos ! GOD BLESS Y'ALL !!!
Well, your welding sure looks good to me. It's always the little things that you have to do that keeps things running, so much of our day is just that, taking care of the little things on a farm. Great video, thanks for sharing, have a great day!
When vertical welding push the puddle up you will see a big difference. Just a tip. I am by no means a certified welder and it has been awhile since I have done stick welding
Erik, I like to hold the welding holder close to the end for better control. End being where the rod is inserted in the clamp. With good leather welding gloves there is no real risk of heat/sparks. I also try to hang the cables around my shoulders whenever possible to take their weight off the wand and not influence the control, as well. Don't apologize for you welding...most are too scared to even try. Just another perspective.
I am impressed with those little welders. I am getting one later this year. I love stick welding. Lots of different rods for different jobs. I learned arc welding in the 60's...
I really like the telehandler content. I find it interesting to see you guys getting used to them and your thoughts on them compared to the skid steers, as I'm from the uk, we're so used to seeing them as nearly every farm here has a telehandler here.
I'm a 54 year old woman who did this summers as a child on my uncle farm..though the farm was smaller and not as advanced as yours one thing that comes through in your videos thats the same is hard work..thank you for the videos
Missed opportunity.....put welding goggles on a couple cows.😂 I always told dad "It broke because it needed a new bolt....just saving a trip back later". Nice video Eric, thanks.
You know for farming it's basically a "There is no rest for the wicked". If that's the case then farmers are the wickedest bunch around. I know my father in law was. Something always needs fixing on a farm. Great video.
WOW I’m impressed a good throw on the first time ( or did you edit out the first ten missed attempts with the ratchet ) ole Dad is pretty handy to have around.
Great video. Fire safety. Good thinking. You’ve been taught well to think on your feet plus handy at fixing things. Good job. Keep learning from your dad & others.
Eric on your verticle welds try going from bottom to top instead of top to bottom. Hope you show tilling the bed. I have a friend that feeds beef cattle that tills his saw dust.
If the rototiller works well, you should use your silage shaver and get the new gen of silage shaver you talked about a few months back. So it’s a win-win
In my opinion.. telehandlers have their place and use. But time and maneuverability is the key to productivity. You can fancy around pretty quickly in a skid verse the demos
Please get a water fire extinguisher to keep with you when doing welding jobs. 2.5 gallon water extinguisher. You fill it then charge it with air pressure.
Or a pump up sprayer with a coarse spray tip. The 2 1/2 gallon extinguishers (AKA the silver bullet) are great and you can put out a lot of fire with one. But they do freeze, so stationing a few in the barns would probably not work.
Love the fact that you’re welding. Do a vertical up. Sorry from the bottom and go to the top. Better penetration. I know you’re just doing a quick fix to hold and do the job but for future jobs go up instead of down especially for bigger thrings
The first time i saw your vids i was like this is heaven! I know that farming has a lot of ups and downs and i also wanted to start a farm but i cant because of the climate and i think thats really stupid. i have a lot of admiration for you and i really like your vids. keep on going because i love this content!
"I should have just stopped. I had it tight...." Yeah there's a story of my life right there in one sentence. Eric your dad needs to mosey on over to the 10th Gen Store and get himself a new sweatshirt. Tell him to use his employee discount.
I was surprised to see that red, white, & blue ring in the steering wheel, and knew something cool was on the farm. Yeah, use that International more! Great looking machine.
Those little Welders are quite handy aren’t they There are some with a little higher price point that have much better frequency control making your welds have better penetration and will look better as well Take a look at your next farm show or tool show Get a hands on trial And then there is always the discount for the shows
Just a suggestion but have you tried doing your vertical welding up instead of down? That way the slag runs down & out of your way instead of into your arc
I think telehandlers are working great for y’all too. They make good lifts also, forks with pallet on it. Good carpenter with some piddle time could make pallet with rails and compartments for tools....just saying. Enjoyed
As always Eric, thanks for taking the time to have us tag along! God bless your family & farm.
I'm tired from all the fixing you did on this vlog! I love that there is always a cow supervising your work on the bars! Thanks for sharing.
784 was supervising making sure you had all your safety equipment ready for the weld. Your ladies are so smart!!
Everyday is maintenance on a dairy farm. Plus you can still get all your other chores done. That's life on a dairy farm
Nice fix on that gate. Top tip: when vertical welding stick, weld UP. When you weld down, the flux from your weld puddle is falling down and you weld over the junk. Plus, when you are welding up, your new weld has something to sit on. And bump your amps down 10-15%. God bless!
Depends on the rod being used, designated 10 and 11 rods can easily run downhill. Fast fill rods should be run uphill
Good thinking about fire possibilities !!! That was a sweet little welding unit , did the job with out a lot work moving a big heavy welder around 🙂❤
Harbor freight special!!
I bought the same welder of Amazon because of a previous video he did its a great little unit for stuff like this and its only 100 bucks
That's what the cows said, I'm not sure what they were watching, but a nice view is always interesting to note. It's great to see how the calves appreciate the new bedding. Both of those machines look good working, I don't have a fav yet. Too bad about ur cam magnet. Good video. Pax.
The cows have such fun with new bedding! Fun to watch. Great videos.
It always tickles me to see the Ladies jumping an dancing around when they get new bedding, They are happy !!! Thank You for your videos !
GOD BLESS Y'ALL !!!
You and your dad are Jack's of all trades. You learn by doing. That's the greatest classroom you could ever have. Stay safe.
Maintenance is never ending!
but they're important so important work never ends and it's great to see he tries his best to take care of the cows and calves
Funny how I, a city boy, get excited to see you use the telehandlers and hear your opinion about them.
I never tire of watching you shave the bunker silage. Thanks for once again sharing part of your busy day with us.
Thank you, Eric. Sure enjoy them a lot.
It's amazing to me the amount of spare parts a farm needs to have available for routine maintenance.
I grew up on a farm and am pleased to see that farming hasn’t changed everything. You still need to know something about everything. Good job!
Well, your welding sure looks good to me. It's always the little things that you have to do that keeps things running, so much of our day is just that, taking care of the little things on a farm. Great video, thanks for sharing, have a great day!
Great welding job Eric. Never ending maintenance on the farm. Love these videos that have a lot of different short jobs to watch you complete.
When vertical welding push the puddle up you will see a big difference. Just a tip. I am by no means a certified welder and it has been awhile since I have done stick welding

Always, something busted on the farm. It never ends.
I am impressed with those little welders. I am getting one later this year. I love stick welding. Lots of different rods for different jobs. I learned arc welding in the 60's...
Farmers are engineers, they can fix literally anything...
I really like the telehandler content. I find it interesting to see you guys getting used to them and your thoughts on them compared to the skid steers, as I'm from the uk, we're so used to seeing them as nearly every farm here has a telehandler here.
Hey , I watch your videos from Mexico
A pleasure
You have a beautiful farm and machines
I'm a 54 year old woman who did this summers as a child on my uncle farm..though the farm was smaller and not as advanced as yours one thing that comes through in your videos thats the same is hard work..thank you for the videos
Lots of posting lately, I digg it! Super good content!
Missed opportunity.....put welding goggles on a couple cows.😂 I always told dad "It broke because it needed a new bolt....just saving a trip back later". Nice video Eric, thanks.
4:41 nice throw and catch
stay warm fun to see the cows
You know for farming it's basically a "There is no rest for the wicked". If that's the case then farmers are the wickedest bunch around. I know my father in law was. Something always needs fixing on a farm. Great video.
Excellent!! Time to relay and watch your vid. Thanks Eric
Love todays video can't wait to see the other video with the tiller and spreading manure, and keep up the good work 👏🏼 👍🏻.
Smart man Eric...you never know with sparks!
WOW I’m impressed a good throw on the first time ( or did you edit out the first ten missed attempts with the ratchet ) ole Dad is pretty handy to have around.
Vertical welding, start at the bottom and weld up so you done weld over your puddle.
A year and a half maybe 2 years watching don't remember. Nice to see y'all improving the farm and able to by the equipment to do a better job.
Great video. Fire safety. Good thinking. You’ve been taught well to think on your feet plus handy at fixing things. Good job. Keep learning from your dad & others.
Support your welding hand to keep a even gap and a smooth weld.
Eric on your verticle welds try going from bottom to top instead of top to bottom. Hope you show tilling the bed. I have a friend that feeds beef cattle that tills his saw dust.
9th gen sprints to go get the socket*! Love the videos! Been subscribed and watching every video since 12k subs!! you two work like no other!
Start from the bottom and go up for vertical welding
If the rototiller works well, you should use your silage shaver and get the new gen of silage shaver you talked about a few months back. So it’s a win-win
Trust me we have snaped bolts like that all the time
In my opinion.. telehandlers have their place and use. But time and maneuverability is the key to productivity. You can fancy around pretty quickly in a skid verse the demos
It’s all good Eric! Nice day in the life video! Lots going on! Thank you for the video and all the work that goes into getting interesting shots!
Please get a water fire extinguisher to keep with you when doing welding jobs. 2.5 gallon water extinguisher. You fill it then charge it with air pressure.
Just watched further. Smart idea putting the water down for safety!
Or a pump up sprayer with a coarse spray tip. The 2 1/2 gallon extinguishers (AKA the silver bullet) are great and you can put out a lot of fire with one. But they do freeze, so stationing a few in the barns would probably not work.
great video Eric and dad

I was concerned about sparks on that sawdust but you handles it well. That JCB looks awesome 👍
The first time i saw your vids i was like this is heaven! I know that farming has a lot of ups and downs and i also wanted to start a farm but i cant because of the climate and i think thats really stupid. i have a lot of admiration for you and i really like your vids. keep on going because i love this content!
Funny to me how curious the cows are .
"I should have just stopped. I had it tight...." Yeah there's a story of my life right there in one sentence.
Eric your dad needs to mosey on over to the 10th Gen Store and get himself a new sweatshirt. Tell him to use his employee discount.
U r an awesome farmer. May God and the future be with you. Love u r videos.
I was surprised to see that red, white, & blue ring in the steering wheel, and knew something cool was on the farm. Yeah, use that International more! Great looking machine.

LOVE ALL YOUR VIDEOS ERIC HAVE BLESSED DAY
Farm torque! Tighten til it breaks then back it off 1/4 turn!
They must’ve done a good job fixing your dads shoulder he was showing off with those throws this video lol Glad to see you guys doing well
Just a suggestion but have you tried doing your vertical welding up instead of down? That way the slag runs down & out of your way instead of into your arc
Great awesome video Eric
Thank you Eric really enjoy. Hope the family is well.
Nice thing about tele is that you don’t need to rev to the max all the time.
We just use an old 3 point ripper to stir our barns
Give the tiller a chance to work on the bed pack
Good idea to try
Seeing the new equipment is great
You and your dad are a great team
Thank you...🚜👨🌾👍
Just a though instead of a telehandler demo a small pay loader, we have a jd 304k on our farm
Like new equipment try outs your pretty good with any tool or piece of machinery keep up the good work thanks for the videos
That’s a good idea to not burn down the new barn 👍
Never a dull moment with you Eric keep up the great work love the videos can't get enough of them
Someone has to agree every farmer in the world has a old tractor no matter how modern the farm is
The jcb telehandler has a third pedal on the left that almost acts like a clutch. That’s what I use when defacing our bunks
I think telehandlers are working great for y’all too. They make good lifts also, forks with pallet on it. Good carpenter with some piddle time could make pallet with rails and compartments for tools....just saying. Enjoyed
Stick with the JCB cuz it can do anything around the farm
What about welding around the Cows? What about the arc and their Eyesite?
Awesome Video and Much Love as Always 🐄 Man!!
I had a teacher in trade school that used to say "tighten it until it snaps, then back it off a little"
Keep up the good work
Love the random maintenance videos.
“Tighten it until it strips, then back it off half a turn.”
We're having a heat wave here in California.
It's so hot, all our cows are on their backs
with their feet in the air giving themselves a shower.
!
Good video you right also something to fix on the farm
Wet area before welding, small pump sprayer works wonders… don’t ask me how I know 😬
Good catch with the rachet
good to see the International getting a new job
Hello from germany
wouldn't a chain be better than a caple? though changing it to a chain i believe it would a little expensive so maybe partial chain and partial caple?
Looks great from my perspective ☺️☺️
Your Dad makes a good Gofa (goes for this goes for that )
Spray can of cold galvanizing is not a bad idea. Bob in Nevada
Great video Erick👍👍👍👍
Great vídeo.
Thanks for another sweet video
... Cheers...
With cows your guaranteed 2 things . Empty feed bins and things broken. !!
Good one
The JCB seems to big for you guys…
Enjoyed the video.
