Let's Kitbash a Deathwatch KEEPER

- In this video I kitbash up my first ever lore only model, the Deathwatch Keeper! Not much imagery and lore on these guys, but what they do have is pretty awesome.

Some lore for Fleshtearers could be that he’s standing watch as a form of correction. If a Fleshtearer runs out and is too rambunctious on the battle field, it would be an interesting “training opportunity” for him to stand guard, to understand the importance of self control. It was a pretty common form of correction during my time in the Marines! Hahaha
Well I wish I thought about that before 😅 would be a pretty good bit of lore
@@JamsMiniMods hahaha, just imagine someone finally breaching the defenses just find themselves face to face with a pissed off Fleshtearer whose sword is bigger than most space marines. Plus.....it would be kind of rewarding for the FT standing guard! Hahahaha

the aquilla is from the top of the banner from the standard primaris ancient. The ancient was the one that was in the dark imperium box set

You also can get one in the Rhino kit - though I am not sure if they are making that kit anymore. I lucked out and one of my FLGS employees had a bunch of accessories up from a few Rhinos in a box up for super cheap and I bOught all of them. Just because I find stuff like that super useful

I've had that art saved for a while now and never thought about how to make one but the ancient is an inspired choice.
Yeah I've had the Keeper in my mind for a long time and it only recently came to me that the Ancient is perfect. And thanks of course 🤘🤘

I enjoyed knowing where all the parts come from, and your thoughts on what you wanted to represent, and what you felt didn't match the character.

Sweet a Deathwatch marine, they are one of the best space Marine armies for kitbashing.
Definitely the best for kitbashing!
With resin you're better if doing a couple of things, bathing in warm water then before you even dry off sawing rather than cutting. Then sanding down to exact size
Yeah sawing and sanding is definitely the safest way to go!
This could be the kitbash of 2021!!! GW should use look at this and take notes. Unreal. The most terrifying hall monitor one could image! Great job!!

@@JamsMiniMods Also, you can run the Keeper as a Judiciar! The statline of the executioner relic blade can be subbed for either a big eviscerator or glaive, and the usual clavis they're armed with in the lore has similar rules to the tempormortis.
@@ARCThunder Ah that's perfect! I think that's what I'll be doing.. although, according to the lore that I've seen they usually remove their clavis before battle, that's why I didn't include it. But in my head canon it would work perfectly!!
@@JamsMiniMods Yeah it's not perfect-for some reason the Clavis on the Watch captain requires a stratagem and isn't always "on" like the tempormortis, but I figured it was the best fit for what we have.

it made me annoyed that they are not in model form they would a cool exclusive mini for the deathwatch ( also could run him as a chaplin or a captain

@@JamsMiniMods the shadow keepers are cool the guard the vaults beneath the imperial palace, whether it be ancient technology or prisoner cells. When the great rift opened loads of prisoners escaped know the Shadow Keepers have come into the light to hunt them down
Hey JimJam, always loving the conversions. I'm trying to make my own chapter "Soul Reavers" or "Soul Harbingers"'. Prob have a skull helmet (Morte) from LiberDemonia and painted a Icy Blue black with Silver trim and maybe a red shoulder pad. Something like Deathwatch..still thinking. Love to see your version of this for a kitbash. Would a Dremel be better ?

@@JamsMiniMods Just bought a Redemptor Dreadnought and watched your Wolfy kitbash from a year ago. Might have to build a Melee Weapon and shield for mine. Wolves have SO MUCH conversion bits =( Might look at Liber Daemonica for bitz as they have some awesome stuff

Where is this Chainsword from?
I have this guy in my bitsbox as well cause I stole his banner for my firstborn :D.
I think it's from the Kromlech 'Ripper' set.. He's a great model to convert!
@@JamsMiniMods Hey thanks for the fast answer. So far I didnt start a Primaris army but I thought about using this guy for Inquisitor (the game) in 28mm, he will look as intimidating as Marines are in that game.

Captain Artemis from the Deathwatch line came fom that game from example but he is still a little marine :D.
