- In today's vlog we head to Walt Disney World's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa Tour. We were also there on National Gingerbread Day during the holiday season so we also took a look at the giant gingerbread house in the lobby. We even bought one of the gingerbread shingles to try. It was chewy but good! Then we took a look around the hotel lobby and around the hotel grounds. We even got a chance to look inside the wedding pavilion and bridal party suite (I'm not sure what it's actually called), it was really cool to see how they framed the window around Cinderella Castle. That would definitely make for a magical ceremony! Then we checked out the outside picture spots and beach area. We took a look at the DVC lobby and the main lobby restaurants and other food locations around the hotel. We showed as many menus as we could to give you guys an idea of the food selection and price.

1:40 Richard Gerth! He's a real Disney World legend among the cast members. He's been greeting guests at the Grand Floridian since 1991, and he just turned 92 this year!
CarRamrod My husband and I met him during our honeymoon in September! He's such a sweetheart!
Yup, this is what I came here for! We always stop and talk to him. Have been since I was a kid!
Rip
We got a chance to meet him December 2016. It was an honor meeting him and getting to shake his hand! RIP.
I met him. I also got a photo with him. One morning I woke up and my mom told me had passed away. I got so sad. R.I.P
After college graduation 12 years ago, I took my mom here because she'd always wanted to stay there. It was a huge thank-you to her for everything she'd done for me while I was in college. It's the last time she and I got to visit Disney, and she passed in 2015. I kind of wish we'd explored the place more; we were hardly there, which I suppose makes it silly to have spent so much money! But I think (I hope!) she enjoyed it, so that made it worthwhile.
I was a Cast Member at the Grand Floridian when it opened. The birdcage in the lobby originally housed birds. I believe the were Rosy Finches, they matched the original lobby colors.
My husband & I honeymooned at the Grand Floridian which was a total surprise. We happened to be there during the Year of a Million Dreams in 2007 & when they found out it was our honeymoon they upgraded us from Caribbean Beach Resort to the Grand Floridian, just as a magical giveaway. Still haven’t gotten to stay at Caribbean Beach Resort, but it was wonderful getting to experience a resort we probably never would have otherwise. 😃
Favorite part of the video is Tim saying "And over here, OH LOOK THERE'S A SQUIRREL!"
Jessica's Journey's But he didn't make up a song for the squirrel or for the bird🙁. I think his reaction to the price of the Perfectly Princess Tea Party (3:42) was the best.
The symmetry of the wedding chapel window and the picture point with the castle is AMAZING. Somehow, disney doesn't forget a single detail
That lighthouse to Lane Thomas Graves is a very lovely memorial by Disney. All of Omaha grieved when he died. I've never seen such an outpouring of grief before. We even decorated one of the main expressways with blue ribbons when his parents came home. Hard to believe it's been over two years.
Nothing better than a cup of tea and 28 minutes with Tim!
Or, in my case, dinner which was a bowl of pasta with Italian Sausage gravy. :-)
Yey! They're feeding the bees! How nice :) As pollinators, they help give us so much food. It's nice to return the favor.
This hotel is so beautiful! The architecture is completely fabulous! Man the room prices are just crazy, it really is a special hotel though.
I love how Tim pretends like he's not appalled by the prices of things. I see through you, Timmy.
Of all the places I have been too and stayed. Nothing beats the grand Floridian, it is the best place to stay.
Disney will never build a nicer DVC than the GRAND Floridian Villas. Superb!
Such a pretty resort, especially at this time of the year. I wish I could stay there but I have enjoyed walking around seeing all the decorations. The gingerbread house is wonderful !!! We spent one day of our vacation visiting all the top resorts just to see all the holiday decorations and gifts....worth taking the time.
“And here are the prices.....oh! Ok.....”
That was hilarious! I know that Princess Party is pretty nice, but $300+ seems astronomical, even for the GF.
"And now it's time to... never mind..."
I see so many things on youtube that make me depressed lately. But I can always count on Tim&Jen when I need to see something life affirming.
Before Animal Kingdom was built, they used to house birds in the lobby of the Grand Floridian in that bird cage, and then when Animal Kingdom was built they transferred all of the birds to Animal Kingdom. Since Grand Floridian is modeled after the turn of the 20th century, they wanted to reflect what the homes of people during that time might look like. Back then they didn't really have souvenirs, so when you went on vacation you'd bring back things like pets or furniture. The more mismatched your furniture, the more traveled you seem to be. That's also why they have the squirrel cage, as squirrels were considered pets back then!
I believe (I HOPE) it’s Franck’s Bridal Studio as in “Frahnk” from the movie “Father of the Bride”. Oh if that’s the case I want to go there and choose my “cahk” for my “woddeeng”. Love that character!
Don't forget to specifically request the navy blue tux-AH-do.
LOVE this comment! It’s my favorite movie! :)
I loved Tim being all timid when he was allowed to look around the wedding chapel. "Oh I turned on a light. Oops" 😂
Ah ! You saw Richard ! He’s been there forever ! He’s 92 and still working there ❤️❤️
We laughed a lot at your reaction to the afternoon tea prices. We also felt the same way.
The chapel is cool with the castle in the background!
The car and carriage out front can be used for weddings and you waved to Richard on your way in but didn't speak with him.. I'm still watching so maybe you do on the way out. He's a staple for the hotel, greeting everyone. Such a sweet man.
iamsaramack stayed there 4 years ago...was so happy to see Richard still there!
Franck is the wedding planner in the Steve Martin movie Father of the Bride.
Wow, the price at Victoria & Alberts went up. I remember back in the 90s when it was $150 per person (and i thought that was high back then too).
So a couple eating at V & A (without wine pairing) can expect to pay at least $520 (including Tip) for dinner??!! Jeesh, you can stay at other disney resorts for almost a whole week for that same amount..
Guy Conklin well I would think the prices would go up since the 1990's lol. You must be a baby boomer lol
This is my favorite hotel so far on Disney Property. Hands down, my kind of place. I also really loved Portofino Bay. I'd love to stay at both resorts.
So glad to see the wedding pavilion, inside and out! I would totally get married here. Absolutely stunning!
Father and the bride...(Fronksss) was just married there with my wife this past october and the reception in the grand floridian ballroom. Best Day of my life, Disney does everything!
I think Disney should really take your "Oh. Okay" price reaction seriously if they end up watching this. I don't even think The Mad Hatter would be crazy enough to pay that much for Tea.
The price and the "gotta bring a kid or be 18" part as well lol
Isn't Franck's Bridal Studio referring to Franck Eggelhoffer (Martin Short) from Father of the Bride with Steve Martin and Dianne Keaton? So it would be pronounced Fraunk then.
V Matthews That's what I figured. It was a Touchstone Pictures movie which is a Disney subsidiary.
That was my guess too
The Gingerbread House is really impressive. We saw it 2 years ago. Couldn't believe someone actually works in the Gingerbread House.
Narcooses allows Jeans etc. Its not Dressy. But it is Really Delish!! We loved the Steak and Lobster.
This is the first time I saw the rocks and fence along the beach. That still upsets me...so sad.
SoCal Refrigeration and other stuff...I understand but it is still sad. I stood right there on the beach with my kids just the summer before.
Johnny Utah - All because of some irresponsible parents, who apparently couldn't read the signs that read " Stay out of the water" ! The child didn't know any better, that's what parents are for....so we all pay the price, because of a couple of dumb ass parents............
Ferg STOP blaming the parents! first of all the boy didn‘t swim in the water! he was collecting sand near the water when the alligator attacked and dragged him into the water. Eventhough it is Florida, know for alligators etc. the parents couldn‘t know that there was actually an alligator in the water! And they were watching the kids. You can‘t imagine how they feel after loosing their two year old son and they definitely feel horrible too! So stop complaining over some fences you spoilt brat
I wish the parents had.. #1 been aware of alligators in the water.. alot of people think Disney has magically made them disappear.. Not! And #2 had known you can punch an alligator in the eye and it will release.. as it did a teen boy (stupidly in a pond) when I lived in Florida.
This hotel means the world to us! Thank you for FINALLY visiting it! This place needs more love.
Tim, they used to have peach colored canaries in the bird cage in the Grand Floridian back when the hotel was new.
Wow this hotel is a replica of San Diego’s Hotel Del Coronado!
If the Grand Floridian is 100% your aesthetic, come to San Diego and check out the Hotel Del Coronado. The Grand Floridian is defiantly inspired from the exterior architecture of the Hotel Del Coronado. Plus we could hangout since my Wife and I are from San Diego! hahaha Thanks for the hard work you and Jenn do to provide all your fans with free to see content! Keep up the great work :)
every time i go to grand floridian i think of the episode of Full House that they filmed there. i call the lobby piano the Uncle jesse piano lol
ke11ym0 I never realized that that was the hotel they were at.
Francs is where yo have your meetings about your wedding. its so cute!! URGH THIS MAKES ME MISS MY WEDDING
Narcoosee's is not fancy...but I love the ambiance right on the water.. Jenn would love the seasoned coated salmon.. I did anyway.
We used to take the ferry to Artist Pointe in Wilderness Lodge also.. where if you're into salmon they cook it on cedar planks (or used to)
Tim I'm shocked! You mean you've never watched "Father of the Bride"?! I suggest you watch it and you'll understand the name Franck's.
I was about to comment the same. :)
Que
Its my absolute dream you stay at the grand Floridian! 😍
I have been watching your videos for about two or three months now. I was very on the fence about going to Walt Disney World because I really felt like it was just everything for little children, even though those things that are for little children, are also for adults, and I see that now through your videos. My husband and I, are going to be making our first vacation to Florida and we are pretty sure of the resort that we want to stay in, just based on what it is that you have shown through all of your videos. Thank you for taking the time to do this. Not many people have the good kind of heart that your wife and you do.
I finally got to visit the Grand Floridian this weekend and kept telling my friends about the video I’d seen 4 years ago about it. 😊
Had a Disney wedding at Aulani October 2016. They took care of all the little details and their wedding planners are exactly the quality you'd expect from Disney. Another plus is you don't have to go crazy with Disney elements if you are looking for a classic wedding with just the ease of planning in a beautiful location.
S/O to Richard
I enjoyed your tour. Grand Floridian is one of my top 3 favorite hotels.
Thanks Tim! These are quickly becoming my favorite videos!!!
Oh my goodness. I’ve always wanted to get married at The Grand Floridian!!! 😭 this just makes me want to more & more. It made me cry, lol. ITS SO BEAUTIFUL! Thanks for doing this tour, Tim. I loved it so much.
The grand Floridian dock is where they filmed part of the full house episode "The house meets the mouse".
First time commenting! My husband and I love your channel! Thank you for the trip down memory lane with this video! We were fortunate enough to have had a Disney Fairy Tale Wedding back in 2006, and our reception in a ballroom at the Grand Floridian Convention Center. We stayed concierge level for that occasion (our room overlooked the marina and was above Gaspariilas!), but haven't had the opportunity to stay there again since. It's on our Must Do list!
The old man that greets you!!! He is a STAPLE to this hotel! I get sad when I don’t see him. Great vlog as always tim!
4:15 Well my mother (debbie) & father (john) are getting Christmas presents from Santa 🤣🤣🎄🎁🎁
I stayed there as a kid in the late 80's. There was a gameroom at one time in Gasparilla Grill. Narcoossee's is a good place to watch fireworks during dinner.
David Thacker Yeah, they kept the game room in the same room as Gasparilla grill. I believe sometime in 2012-2013, they moved the game room in its own area next to Gasparilla Grill.
Omg!!!! I wish I have the economy to stay at this hotel for once!!!! Looks so pretty!!! Thanks for the update!!! Is very nice!!! 👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻. See you next time!! :)
Super fun fact about the wedding pavilion: the glass at the chapel is like a magnifying glass so it makes the castle look closer!
Thanks for the great tour of our DVC home resort! This was fantastic!! As soon as they opened up the Villas at the GF for sale we jumped at the opportunity! Can’t wait to be back at home in February!
Great video!!! There’s nothing as elegant as the grand!!!!!!
I’m a bit biased because I’m a Californian and I think the Grand Californian is one of the most beautiful Disney hotels to exist, but the Grand Floridian is gorgeous too. When my family and I went to Disney World, our monorail rode through the Grand Floridian and it was lovely. Disney hotels are the best.
Loved that you looked inside the chapel. I got married there 12 years ago and it was amazing.
The Grand Floridian Cafe is a sit down restaurant and I highly recommend it ! If you are looking for a quick service, just go through the door and turn left, right in front of the Marina you will find "Gasparilla" with some of the best burgers on Disney property !
I stayed in that resort when I was a kid with my family, and the hotel rooms are nice like very nice.
Tim's videos are the best. Watch them everytime we're planning a trip to Disney. Informative and entertaining. I feel like I already know what to expect when I arrive. Hate your mustache but to each is own... Keep it up Tim!
It is an amazing experience. We got married there and it was amazing. Disney definitely took care of everything and it was perfect.
This was a great tour! We went to the Grand Floridian for afternoon tea and it was so good! It doesn't really look like they give you a lot of food, but you do and it's very filling. I think it's so cool that you can just wander around the hotel! We ended up seeing a bride leave in the Cinderella carriage, and Cinderella and Prince Charming came down to the lobby to have a dance which was really really cool.
I proposed to my wife on the Grand One Yacht during the fireworks. The price comes with a captain and 2 helpers. My mom surprised us with a chocolate covered strawberry basket and champagne. It was absolutely amazing.
You saying bye to the little bird outside reminded me of Mr. Norwhal from Elf... "Bye Buddy... Hope you find your dad!" 😂
Great vlog. We check in at the Floridian DVC next week. Your vlog showed things we didn't know and we've been DVC for the past 3 years. Very informative. Thanks.
Narcoossees is my all time favorite Signature. Delicious food, beautiful views.
1:40 for Disney legend. RIP
staying there in March! Can't wait to stay on the monorail loop again! And within walking distance of a spikey Pineapple! YAHOO!
Wow! This resort is gorgeous.I’m loving these resort tours! Thanks for sharing!
Great tour of the Wedding Pavilion. Thanks for the stroll down memory lane. We got married there in 2008.
This is my favorite hotel by Far. I’ve stayed at all 3 deluxe resorts, and the Floridian seems the most Disney-ish
How sweet that you were whispering in the empty chapel :)
We rented an 8 passenger pontoon boat (Not QUITE as nice as this one) that left from the Polynesian Resort, to watch the fireworks. They provided a pilot, a personalized tray of macaroons, a cooler full of drinks, snacks, and about an hour of touring the lake, complete with commentary from the pilot, for $300. The sound was piped in, so we could hear everything, but were still able to have easy conversation without having to shout. You could have food prepared, and were permitted to bring your own adult beverages. . . It was a very nice experience, and the entire family loved it! (And at $300, it was a bargain, compared to the Grand Floridian excursion, nicer boat not withstanding!)
Wow so so beautiful, I love that resort, have yet to stay there too!!!
That gingerbread house is so amazing, I noticed on the menu it had hidden mickeys in it, would be so cool to go and find them. Would also be so incredible be married there.
Thanks for sharing!
Tim is like Dug in the movie Up, every time he sees a squirrel everything else just stops!
Great tour, Tim! I did not know about the Gasparilla Grill, either. Thanks for doing it!
Awesome video! This made me miss living in Orlando and resort hopping so much! The Grand is a truly magical place!
“which isn’t bad....i mean it is bad...it’s very expensive...” I lol’d
I go to tea time every time I visit Disney, I love it!
I love this place.
Spectacular tour! I've been a fan of this hotel for years. If ever I have the opportunity I will definitely stay here. I'd even invite the Tracker's to be my guests.
Awesome video! I love how detailed of a tour you gave! I learned things I’ve never known and I’ve been there hundreds of times! Thanks so much for a great video! You’re an awesome tour guide!😁
Can’t wait to stay at the Grand Floridian one day!
We love theme parks, never been a super fan of Disney in particular....but now I really want to have our 20 year vow renewal here....we will see you there in 10 years :D
I am new to your channel and have watched a few of your other Disney resort videos and I'm now convinced that you're the Disney resort reviews guru. We are staying at the Grand Floridian soon and definitely got an idea of the layout.
The game was croquet! Pronouned crow-kay.
My favorite resort that I will most likely never be able to afford to stay at. But I love going over there when I am at WDW.
One of the most beautiful hotels I've ever seen.
It's funny, my husband and I were married at the Wedding Pavilion in 2008 and I remember absolutely NONE of the prep room and I was in it for a good 30 minutes! Thanks for showing it =)
Cracking up laughing at the name of the wedding pavilion. Franck is from Father of the Bride. I got married at the wedding pavilion. They do an amazing job.
My stomach just fell out of my butt looking at those tea party prices! So, if mom decides to take little Phoebe to a tea party and invite 3 more little girls and 2 more adults, it'll cost $1235.90! For tea, some biscuits and princesses?????!!!!!! That tea better be liquid gold!
My nana said the food isn't good. You are basically just paying for the Princesses.
Hope Disney will invite you guys to the Christmas 🎄 Sweater party so you can show in a vlog! Sounds fun... Think about it Disney!!!!! 🤔🤣
BTW the memorial is very lovely. 😇
Thank you for doing this video it brought back so many fantastic memories of mine and my wife's wedding day 😁
So many memories of our stay here in November , I want to visit again ❤️
Great vlog, always loved looking at the GF when going past on the monorail. Will have to win the lottery though to stay there. Tim they were playing croquet not cricket 😎
When I came for my honeymoon in 1993, they were filming a Thunder in Paradise episode on the beach. Memories.
LOVE it when you tour the Resorts! Best you tubers ever!!
Thanks Tim! I commented during your last live video if you would tour the grand and you answered back live! Awesome video
Thank you SO much for touring the wedding chapel!
