One of the greatest things about SNES and NES modification of existing songs is what I like to call the Koji Kondo method: When theres only so much certain hardware can take, you need to strengthen the melody to grab someones attention and quickly. Loeder has an excellent grasp of this technique, which not only makes his tunes extremely memorable, but even lends the songs further to faithful reconstruction.
@@sybiliminalSyntax It's tough. What's better, reinforcing the player's determination or showing the power of the villain to increase the satisfaction of killing him?

Thanks!! I did indeed do a lot of work with the articulation to mimic the ALTTP style as close as possible, so it's good to hear that it's noticable :-)
Ace in the Hole But why though? I think the old artstyle was even more moody, the new one could have been a big upgrade but looks very gray for some reason. He said he hasn't played the game, so he probably just listened to it somewhere else on UA-cam, and that "more epic it gets the longer you listen" is how most UA-cam music uploaders handle the "The song gets more epic with each major hurdle you defeat in the castle."
that's actually how the original Lorule Castle theme goes. Every time you open one of the locks of the boss door, some instruments are added. Check it out on the OST, at the end you even hear anvils and people shouting :D
I was about to ask how you could be nostalgic for a game that just came out in the last year or so, but then checked and nope, it's 5 years old now *cries oldly*
This isn’t even from a link to the past and yet the style still gave me such nostalgia. A Link Between Worlds is by all means my absolute favourite 2D Zelda (alongside ALTTP, Minish Cap and Links Awakening). Gonna go back to play it right now for literally the 18th time😂😁
After falling in love with this song, I looked for awhile for the LTTP version because I assumed it was just an updated theme, but I love the SNES sound. You did a fantastic job, this is EXACTLY what I was looking for!
This reminds me I still need to find where the hell that last heart piece is so I can finally beat a link to the past. Real talk though, this is an amazing rendition of my favorite lbw song, and this sounds like it came straight out of a link to the past. Amazing work!
@@JMGO1999EternalMajorKakoEscoby It's a refined version of the Dark World, so it wouldn't be different. Lorule/Dark World theme in the style of the NES Zelda games would be interesting though!

This is amazing! Well done! I know this has been a lot of work because I tried my hand on some Gameboy remakes (or Gameboy Deorchestrated versions as I call them :p). Having said that, I DO miss the guys' voices at the end and the little bells you hear which give the piece even more character, and you cut it OFF at the end, JUST before my FAVOURITE NOTE, haha! Now I miss that note haha :) But other than those points it's great to hear the piece in the style of the game it's based on and you nailed the parts you implemented! Props again!
The fact that this still even SOUNDS like it SHOULD be in ALTTP is amazing! Honestly! Just proves that the whole ALBW OST is just a more modern version of the ALTTP OST, even the new stuff.
Never heard the full version of this, but it sounds absolutely amazing. I thought it was going to loop like you do with a lot of the music you pick, but I'm glad I listened to all of it! Amazing job!
Only Nintendo can reverse a song they've already made and put it in another song and make me think it's new. And only Loeder can take that and make it even better.
I could definitely fit this theme into Link to the past because of how amazingly you recreated every bit of the track into 16bit. I can already imagine it playing on a the pyramid where Ganon is hiding but with a lot more rooms and puzzles. Well done amazing job! ☺
Yeah, this is amazing! I never played the newer game (after the SNES my family jumped ship to the PlayStation lol) but whatever happened when they played this song, you definitely get a sense that it was something epic. Heck, you mixed in the scene where Aghanim made the princess disappear! Very cool! BTW, I just gotta say again, I really like how you "blend" or "mix" in melodies from completely disparate songs! I've never heard anything like it. Occasionally you do hear some reuse in NES/SNES music (like the boss battles in Link to the Past are VERY similar to the ones in Zelda II) but for the most part they are extremely different - but somehow you manage to get them to work together. Like I said about your Zelda II palace theme, it's practically magic. :D
A Link Between Worlds is my favorite Zelda, and I love hearing music recreated in 8- or 16-bit styles, so this is a dream come true for me. Just as catchy as the original, and I adore it. Thank you for making this!
I played A Link Between Worlds before A Link to the Past, and for some reason I felt like I recognized this theme as a remastered ALttP theme. Then I learned that it was original to the new game, and was thrown for a loop by how well it fits predecessor's soundtrack.
