I love the rice cooker recipes. I am a 63 yr old male living alone, so these are great. I was wondering if you could do a 7 day menu for breakfast, lunch, and dinner in the rice cooker. It would be so helpful. Ty. Love your channel.
Thank you so much for watching! As I get more content made and do more experimenting, there may be a meal plan or cook book down the road! Thank you so much for even being interested in something like that :)
I just accidentally came across your channel, I do own a rice cooker and I never thought a rice cooker could be this versatile, your recipes are pure genius, I’ve already subscribed to your channel and also shared your channel with both my kids in college and rest of family and friends. Thank you for your wonderful program 🙏
German/Polish lady here. I never knew a rice cooker could be so fast and easy to use, so I am getting one as soon as I finish typing this LOL 🤣. I find your recipes inspiring and, yes, so maybe this will help with my new diet plan I am starting. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you and your family!
I never knew a rice cooker was so versatile. I'll be buying one. Can't wait to try the rice, edamame, and shrimp. I often stir fry cabbage, carrots, and red onion with a protein. I'll be trying that in the rice cooker also. As a senior little meals are how I cook, so thanks for the great ideas!
Love these rice cooker videos so much. Bought one because of your first rice cooker meals video. It has been a game changer as a busy mom. I actually eat lunch now! 😮 haha. And frozen food is key with small kids. Handful of frozen veg, handful of some kind of starch, sauce, and keep on keeping on. This has been the best. My fed body thanks you! ❤
I have a rice cooker and probably the meal we like the most in it is what we call our rice bowl. It's make what will end up to be two cups rice once cooked, one package or four chicken sausages left whole, two large broccoli crowns broken into bite size pieces, one cup sliced fresh mushrooms, and half a chopped onion. You can adjust any of the ingredients you want. You can add any seasoning you like. Cook for one cycle. We usually add cheese when we dish it up, like Park or Mexican blend. This is really good with basmati rice.
YOU yes you, got me hooked on the rice cooker. Thank You!!! I never could cook pasta on the stove that tasted good. In the rice cooker it comes out perfect everytime. So my question is how do you not have steam water all over your counter after you cook the food. Love, Love, Love the videos and ideas you come up with...
I tried making caramel rolls in mine. Total fail. I researched what might of happened. Apparently, it overheated and shut off. A great safety feature. So, perhaps butter, and brown sugar get hotter than water, or broth. Thanks for sharing your recipes. They give me a lot of ideas. 😊
Rice is always been so constipating even if I fill it full of vegetables so I don’t know but I thought I would try slicing up maybe two or three prunes per cup of rice and just putting them in and cooking anything else with it
I'm so glad I came across your video. I have a totally underused rice cooker sitting on my counter. Now I'm going to boil my frozen Chinese dumplings in the rice cooker before browning them in it as well.
you are so adorable and im going to buy a coupele of these and pass around to family . my grand daughter is freshmen in college and tries to eat healthy im going gather up some of your recipes for her to make and of course i need one for me and i think i will get one for my boys i can see you are a busy lady so when you can keep the recipes comming
I just found your channel. I live alone and am always fighting the temptation to make a bowl of cereal or eat a lot of junk for dinner. I'm always looking for easy recipes!!! Something I created this evening was a savory oatmeal. I did it in the microwave, but it would work in the rice cooker. I used chicken bone broth for the liquid. Actually, a powder and then added water. Either way, be careful with the seasoning level if you add any extra seasoning. It will be way more intensely seasoned after it is cooked. Two more things I did different from I usually do include: 1. Tossing my (steel cut) oats on a sheet pan and setting them into the toaster oven while it preheated to cook my fried eggs. The oats came out smelling so toasty and nutty that I'm going to do this all the time now. (It's a great hack if you have any that are a bit stale, too!) And 2. Cooking them until they were super thick, more like a grain bowl. Adding my fried eggs and letting them be the rich, umami-bombs on top, I didn't even wait to sit down before I dug in. 10/10!
Rice cookers work by having a magnet on the spring loaded switch that is pressed up to an alloy metal that loses its magnetic properties as its temperature rises above 212 F. That is how it senses the low water condition so the switch opens when the alloy becomes less magnetic and the spring overcomes the attraction. It was a real dramatic invention in 1970s Japan. I use my rice cooker to make steel cut oatmeal almost everyday. I've also used it to steam frozen broccoli by only using a couple ounces of water.
I just saw your video re a rice cooker a month ago. First time seeing you and subscribed!!! I had purchased a rice cooker years ago but it was a large one that I eventually gave away as it was too big. I reside alone so your rice cooker recipes are perfect and have now purchased a nice sized one like yours!!! I have made Trader Joe's Sreel Cut Oats using just water, added a little butter, maple syrup, chopped walnuts and then topped it with a banana before eating...delicious!! I have a regular recipe for rice, kielbasa, Brocholli and chicken that you top with grated Cheddar cheese so going to try and come up with a way to get that accomplished in my new rice cooker!! Thank you for all your ideas...since you were baking cookies I wonder if there is a way to bake large cookies in a rice cooker?....hmmm! Wirth a try!! Wishing you and your family a healthy and prosperous New Year!!!
If you can find Korean sesame oil - it's well worth trying. (To me!) it's much nuttier, and ... 'warmer' if that makes sense. Bit like regular syrup vs. maple syrup. Anyway - happy Christmas and have a great new year!
Throw in some shredded cabbage to add to your rice bowl, maybe? Will get you some more veggies, it's easy, tastes good, keeps in fridge for quite a while, (especially if you remove a leaf or 2 at a time/meal!) total win.
Very excited to try some of the vids I have been binge watching. When I worked in an office I did instant oats. I added a sprinkle of cinnamon along with some PB and banana and it felt very decadent 🤣 But I started noticing other coworkers doing the same shortly afterwards. It just adds a little something to what could be a pretty mundane meal 😁
We buy those Pierogis at a Aldi near home. My husband's ancestors are from the Ukraine 🇺🇦. He loves Cabbage rolls too. Glad You came up on my feed. God bless you and all here.❤✝️ 🙏 ❤.
I am in a rented property in the United Kingdom and I have used a rice cooker for everything as well 😂. I have no fridge, no washing machine and the oven is a pile of crapp so that's out of the question. You usually move maximum every twelve months so buying applicants is not worth it. Fun 👍🏻
Hi! Great meal ideas, which I'll be trying! *One question: what camera do you use for your videos?* I really love how your vids look, how clear they are on closeups, etc. I looked in your video details to see if you listed the camera, but didn't see anything. Thanks!
My camera is a Sony ZV-1 but once in a while I also use my iPhone. I've been pretty pleased with the Sony! Very portable and good for what I use it for!
8:12 Correct statement. You have to factor in the cost of a drive through. Burning gas, driving to and from the location etc. On my island it's not that biga deal 70380 look it up everything I do is 1/2 mile away from home . Take into account potential for collision, ticket, insurance rising, much more than most would take into account.
Actually I used a ratio of 2:1 so it doesn’t matter what I used to measure it. I could have used a mug or a spoon or a scoop. As long as there was double the liquid. Ratio measuring is a different system and not an error 👍
@ looool not going to lie I had to google it 😂☠️ some consider it not a veggie because it’s more calorie dense, but some do lol. I read a Harvard article saying plant wise it’s technically a veggie. It’s green so it counts for me 😂😂😂
@@ClaireRisper my new mantra, if it’s green, it counts for me! Love that. Well, thanks for being kind when letting me know I was wrong. Apparently, I needed some humility today. Ok, thanks!
What you were told about a rice pot sensor is incorrect if you notice when you press down on the rice pot there's a spring load that springload is set to the weight of the volume of rice and water that would be in the pot. It is strictly a mechanical system for the majority of the rice pots yours included. And it's why your rice pot should not be on while you're driving. You bounce bouncing is not good for a spring that's going to control how long you burn.

I may need to add some diced prunes into my rice and then add pineapple 🍍 and some other veggies 🥦 not sure maybe cabbage I will experiment

Smart ideas! I am also a Polish/German girl! Love the kielbasa and pierogi hack! 😃
I could eat them everyday 😂😂😂

Merry Christmas to you and your family 🎉🎄 Some slivered toasted almonds would be good in the oatmeal and the shrimp dinner.
Thank you!!! And omg slivered almonds is such a good idea I never think of using them if I’m not baking!
I love your practical approach! Ideas I can use😀
Just got a rice cooker for Christmas and came here looking for ideas-so excited to try these, thank you!

Ooo like some beautiful purple cabbage that’s an incredible idea!
Hubs made the grits in our rice cooker, turned out great! I love your glass canisters! Where can I get some?
I actually thrifted almost all of my canisters! It seems there are always some everytime I go to the thrift store lol
You could also add tahini instead of peanut butter, almond butter, or whatever
Merry Christmas 😊
Thank you for taking the time out of your hectic day to give us some recipes.

That rice cooker is so cute

Agree rice pot cooking is a gezer pleaser. I'm 55+ too I just need enough for me?

The oats can be cooked faster in a small pot using water and adding milk when serving. Same c amount of dishes. ❤
I definitely do this too, or honestly in the microwave! But for someone maybe in a camper or a dorm a rice cooker is also a good option!
Hi , can you cook stews?
I haven't tried that yet! But probably!
You can freeze bananas
Is that really all you eat on 1 day? 3 little portions like that? Or do you snack a lot?
I mentioned at the end that this doesn’t represent a full day, just the meals! I snack a lot and I also drink a protein coffee mid morning!
@ClaireRisper oh I'm sorry, I didn't get that. I was a bit worried about my porties 🫣 Thanks for the video 👍
Thumbs up if you're as savage, ferrel eating from the rice pot careful not to scratch it.
You used a dry measure for milk. So your amount is off. You need to use a liquid measure for liquid ingredients to avoid such errors.
Actually I used a ratio of 2:1 so it doesn’t matter what I used to measure it. I could have used a mug or a spoon or a scoop. As long as there was double the liquid. Ratio measuring is a different system and not an error 👍
This is great, but fyi edamame is not a vegetable. It’s simply young soy beans. So a legume. Ok thanks.
Looool legumes are a class of vegetable ✌️
@ what!?!?! I always thought legumes were a fruit 😂 guess it was my day to learn something new. 🙃
@ looool not going to lie I had to google it 😂☠️ some consider it not a veggie because it’s more calorie dense, but some do lol. I read a Harvard article saying plant wise it’s technically a veggie. It’s green so it counts for me 😂😂😂
