As an electrical engineer, I would just like to point out that the cables provided were chosen by the engineers because they can withstand the amount of current being demanded by the inverter to power your devices. Your cigarette lighter is meant for much lower current applications and it's wires are very likely not made to withstand high current demand over a prolonged period of time. This could lead to the cable deterorating and eventually failing, and maybe even causing a fire. Sounds like your trip went well, and I'm glad for that, but just a heads up. But great ingenuity, and I agree, you're a great dad.
@@MellowMars540 you’d have to look up the ampacity rating of your cigarette lighter fuse. Say it’s 10Amps, then compare it to the ampacity rating of your equipment. As long as you’re at or around 10A you should be fine. No monitor should draw 10Amps; as that’s a lot of current.
The smaller inverters wouldve been more than enough if you ran wires directly to the battery. The ones that came with the cig lighter adapter only run about 120w when hooked up that way. The cig lighter uses really small wires and maybe a 15 amp fuse.
Hi very nice vid, I was wondering if the ps4 consumes doesnt consume too much electricity from the car.. I have an opel astra. Won't the accu of the car die?
Hello - it will fine. As long as your engine is running. If you want to use the PS4/PS5 whiles your car’s engine is off, will recommend you get a second leisure battery installed.
Hey, buddy, can I use a small voltage inverter that's tied directly to the cigarette lighter port? After that, I deliver ubs. For example, this could burn the car. ؟Because of the inability to withstand the voltage by the The car cable set?
Yes you can.As long as the cigarette lighter port is not live and will turn off your when ignition is off to stop draining your main battery when the engine is shut down.
@@germplus So it doesn't affect the car battery with anything if I have a long-distance trip, knowing, my friend, I've connected two screens in the past, and I have two lighters.

Hello - I cut my old cigarette connector plug ( a durable one which could handle about 50amps) and connected the positive ( middle, usually red) and negative to the inverter) Will recommended you use a bigger diameter cable depending on the amps you intend to redraw. Ps4 uses about 10amps. Will recommend a 50amps cable for tv and other devices.
Hello, My son used it for about 3hrs continuously in the summer without experiencing any abnormal heating behaviour. Please note. All the games were digital so we don’t have to worry about vibration when I’m driving and my son is playing . And we have our Car’s AC on.
Hello Julian, When we arrived at our destination after hours of driving, We unplugged only the console to store it in our hotel room. Only time we left the Ps4 in the car was about 30 during breaks on the trip. I wouldn’t recommend leaving electronic devices in the car since it gets hot depending on your location especially during summer. I’m aware of the operating temperature of the ps4 is between 5 and 35 degrees ( Ps4 Pro Manual) . But I’m not certain about the storage temperature and didn’t want to take a chance and also didn’t want to attract someone to break into the car.
Just go spend 60 bucks and put a TV and PS4 in. It'll work for while but probably give out eventually because the lighter socket is only meant for 120w usually
The reason the inverters turn off when you hit a bump is you're running it through a cig adaptor. 🤦 Of course the connection isn't secure that way. Hardwire it like you're supposed to and the inverter will be fine over bumps. How very silly.
If you fully comprehend the video, I mentioned we never had any problems with the streetwise inverter. Been using it for over 5,000 miles now without a single fuss. Same 12v cigarette plug. Not a single problem.
