I think this is very realistic. His sister whom he suffered with and loves very much seen him in a different light on this day. She reminded him of what he swore he would never become and she let him know that he did exactly what he said he wouldn't. That hurt him to be the vilian in his lil sis's eyes. To be his father. Call 911, find a place to stay besides home, plan on what to do, get money, get food, etc. Take the kids, if you have kids, he will most likely turn to them in anger with no one else to if you're gone, go to churches cuz they try to help those women, and they got money give to abused women and get em jobs, you'll have to take on a whole new identity sometimes, too.
