I am 75 years old and remember seeing many of these at Oshkosh in the early to mid 80’s. My second hobby is wood working and I always wanted to build one. This is the best looking one I have ever seen and I looked at over 30 or so up close. There was usually 10 or more in a row at Oshkosh for 4 or 5 years then The RV’s took over. Speaking of RV’s the interior matches Jimmies Elvis jet RV! 😂
@@patlyle2621 Wow. You have had the opportunity to look over quite a few barracuda’s. That’s great. Yes the interior does remind me of Jimmie’s Elvis Jetstar. 😀
Beautiful example of the type. Thanks for sharing. I'm the chairman of the Oshkosh homebuilt parking area (parking, not camping) along the flight line that includes the brown arch and Homebuilt Headquarters. This is where we'd park a Barracuda if we ever see one. It's been a very long time since we had one at Oshkosh. I hope the plane could make it to Oshkosh one of these days! In the class of great wooden planes including Falco, GP-4, and Barracuda. True classics. We do get Falcos in our parking area. Haven't seen a GP-4 in a very long time, either.
