I have a non-cancerous tumor on my left kidney. It was found by accident during a CT scan of my stomach. My urologist didn't recommend surgery, but keeping an eye on it (it was 3 cm). Every year I had a CT scan of it. Finally last year, it had grown to 4.5 cm so he did a biopsy. No cancer. In a year, the tumor grew quite a bit, so now I'm scheduled in March 2022 for the removal of the tumor (partial nephrectomy). I'm very glad that he's the top doctor in this area, so I'm in good hands. Nonetheless, I'm reading up on it as much as I can to get different outcomes & recuperation tips.

If mass is not cancerous, would freezing the tumor have been a better option by cryoblation?

    Omg
I too just 3 weeks ago
Had to have a section of my left kidney because of a mass found accidentally doing a follow up MRi on my lower back issue.
    Had robotic surgery.
I was really scared but I knew I had to do it and not let it go .
Filled with gas so they can get the room needed ,
I lost a lot of blood the Surgeon said so I was kept a couple extra days .
They gave me 2 bags of new blood.
It’s been almost 3 weeks now
I can walk but not far
I still get pain off and on but not nearly as that first week.
Now it’s just that recovery time that’s the challenge.
    I’m so bored at home
I’m 59 and usually active at work before now it’s all stopped.
But in time I’ll be back on my feet once again.
That’s what’s expected for those who may have to experience it .
Oh yeah there’s a lot of bruising on the side ..a lot of.

I had this surgery on Wednesday. I came home from hospital today. I have so much pain and discomfort. The horrible gas is gone and I just pray I will start to feel better as each day passes.

@@tauresattauresa7137 it shouldn't be much longer! After the two week mark I was starting to feel much better. Mostly discomfort when moving in bed when I couldn't reach something ... usually my remote and back scratcher. Surgeon didn't give me enough pain killers though. He gave me 15 percocet which lasted about 3 days . I called him for a refill but he refused saying that he didn't want me to be addicted. I said I didn't want my side cut open and have half my kidney taken out either and I wasn't going to get addicted from 15 damn pills. I explained my level of pain and he finally called in 15 more. Not everyone deals with pain the same. Hopefully you will start feeling better soon! Take care ✌

Doing good. Came home yesterday. Just very sore and painful to walk. I just ate solid food for the first time since Tuesday so I’m hoping it doesn’t make me more gassy. But overall, I’m feeling fine. I had a lot of anxiety goin in from watching some of these videos so I’m happy that I didn’t experience the pain that other people had.

I have permanent damage caused by a partial nephoretomy. I also had a tumor on my left kidney. The surgery left me with a chronic pain problem. I ended up going on Disability. Unless you really need surgery, hold off or get a second opinion before going through this surgery.

Can you please tell us a little more my husband has a 2.7 mass renal and they want to remove it throughout partial nephrectomy but it’s scary as I seen many videos

    • @scottfirman
      @scottfirman 3 роки тому +1

@@nancyordonez4956 Yes, its a major invasive procedure that causes extreme trauma to the body. There are Vlog sites you can join that have many, many people on it that went through this procedure that are now left with disability. Doctors deny the issue and walk away when confronted concerning the possibility of damaging scar tissue and chronic pain. I ended up going on disability because of it. The sad thing is they never tell you about the possibility of nerve damage. Your husband will end up with a huge bulge on his side because when the cut through the muscles, they become atrophied afterwards. Doctos say this is normal. Well having no feeling from the incision site down to the thigh is a big deal. Also, everything at the site will constantly feel like it's on fire. He will experience stabbing pains, cramps in that area and more. Research it. The procedure is not good. If he can hold off, I would. How old is he?

Update on me. Now I am required to go through a complete reevaluation every 3 years. Has your situation changed, are you being told you have to go through reevaluation? My doctor told me things have changed because risk of new cancer actually increased with time. I dont know, I just go get it done as required.
