I would say that Patricia Hendricks has got to be the most powerful woman of Aikido in the World. Every movement is so precise and so powerful, just amazing to watch the control and focus she has that can only come from a life time commitment to the Art.
Brilliant performance by a brilliant tori and a brilliant uke. Kudos from Portugal. I see a lot of Morihiro Saito Sensei's technique in your performance and that's about the highest compliment I can give any Aikidoka.
Hendricks was one of Saito's favourite pupils. She was an uchi-deshi, and frequently acted as uke for him in demonstrations. She was also the first to receive his menkyo-kaiden for ken and jo. You will find pictures of her in lots of Aikido books that present Iwama style. in 2012 the Aikikai raised her to 7 Dan.
I think of it this way - the fall is a natural consequence of the technique. The break fall is just a way for the uke to get some control on how he falls, to avoid injury. If he doesn't break fall, he leaves it to chance - he can either sustain an injury or not. By falling this way, there's a guarantee that injury is avoided.
Maravillosa, una de las pocas damas que se le ve natural sus movimientos.

You are just here to troll? If you don't like Aikido or are critical of it, then why are you here?
