Build quality was a major selling point when I got my Rane One. Some people think the Rane One is overpriced because lack of certain features. On board FX is absolutely a necessity at the price point. But getting a Rane One that will stay young for 10 years, vs. The Pioneer that will be out in 5 years ish... the price point is right. I saw a video of someone running over the Rane one with a car and it still worked fine... 😳
I bought my Rane One coz I was so used to mixing with spinning platters! The other things I found that added value was the solid build and the two microphone inputs which helped me for speech time at Weddings. Great Unit!
You totally nailed this review. My biggest issue with the ddj-1000 was always the sound card - when playing at home no issues - but once you have it hooked up to a big sound system the lack of sound quality is noticeable especially when compared to the 900nsx2 or the new DJM-S11.
Exactly! Man my pioneer SR2 definitely has issues on the bigger QSC System, the mic clips like crazy and super distorted. its all good tho light weight I take it to easy gigs
Another great review! Thanks for following up with a comparison of the Rane One and the Pioneer DDJ-1000SRT. I found it very helpful. One correction about the DDJ-1000 jog wheels; there is a tension knob to the top right of the jog wheels that adjust the tension of the jog wheels. In my opinion, it feels like there is less lag when the tension is increased.

My pioneer has platter tension adjustments. Not all pioneer controllers have the option but that's because people didn't spend enough. Also the sound card and mic input in the SZ is top notch compared to lower end controllers. To make a long story short, if you want the best from pioneer then the SZ/SZ2 would be best. Portability isn't everything. Nice job RANE! Pioneer DDJ SZ
Static jog wheels have always been a sin to the DJ world, I always prayed that the Technics DZ1200 would take over the Pioneers back in the day. Kicking off a record with a cue button, and not a hand movement, just aint right. In short, I love wheels of steel.. Cool vid man, UK in da house....................
I don't see it that way. Not everyone is a scratch DJ and needs moving jogs. Static jogwheels save weight and would last longer. So.. I don't see any 'sin'! Lol

Honestly not bashing u or anything but were u trying to make the SRT look like a bad controller..... despite the lag which I definitely cant see when i tried it on my controller I think the SRT has the edge based off functionality.... the built in effects are a massive plus and the 4 channel opposed to two on the RANE is jus way superior... trust me i give RANE the props for the mic and the platter and all but how they jumbled up everything just doesn’t go well with me... in all aspects i can say that the RANE will fit the older DJ’s while the SRT fits the younger more innovative type.... Btw Great Review in all just think u missed out on a couple plus points for the SRT

I can't lie my G I just been so busy to even practice like that, the Rane One cuts fine out the box I just hear the cut in time for when I cut on the SRT and its just so much more precise out the box. Most definitely the srt-1000 I just believe adding more fx in the tracks that your playing makes it sound better and I feel like it's alot more work also which is a good thing because you're doing more for your songs. Not a fan of rane these days only because inmusic bought them. I’m still butthurt about the shitty NS7 faders and how it was built inside (not like a tank how it appears outside) and how warranty service Fed me bad. It’s probably the same shenanigans with rane, tank build outside, crap reliability and to work on the inside. The pioneer power supply is no big deal! It’s just 12volts and a few amps! Just buy a few cheap, quality supplies like 4A center pin positive. I’ve forgotten mine and used a friend’s external hard drive power supply no problem. Spinning platters are fun, but I personally enjoy the pioneer more than my ns7III, probably because I haven’t ripped it apart 10 times to fix the up faders and boards already like most inmusic crap.
I can dig it, for me though I forget shit all the time so I will definitely mis place that power supply for the pioneer LOL EIther way Imma get busy on whatever I got to work with, but I do like the SRT crossfader compared to the rane one
imo there not comparable controllers. the ddj 1000 is for people who are familiar with the pioneer club kit eco system and want the cads jog wheels. the the Rane one is for people who use turntables and want the same feeling in a controller.
The review was ok at best because it was obvious that you were biased toward the Rane. If I were to watch THIS video to help me decide on which one to get, I would pick the Rane because of your preferenc. I prefer a more unbiased review. A lot of DJs prefer to have on board effects along with software based effects and you minimized that. The difference between a 5" platter and a 7" platter is huge and you minimized that too. The pads are far better on the Pioneer, perfor.s very well, has a case built for it already, and the $200 difference is not small. You minimized that too. Sorry bro, you could have done a better review just by doing a clean, straight forward review on the features, pros, and cons of each device.
Apples and Oranges people. Why he compared these two controllers is beyond me. The Pioneer has 4 channels and the Rane only two., The Rane has motorized platters and the Pioneer doesn't. Both have similar sound quality but they do sound different. The Pioneer has MORE features and probably works with more applications. Imagine this. Take away the motorized platters from the Rane One for Jog Wheels. The Pioneer, with the exception of sound quality blows away the Rane One. The only real advantage the Rane One has is the platters. SO, it comes down to this. How much do you value motorized platters?
@@djTorchLive "The Rane has motorized platters and the Pioneer doesn't." - Comparison "The Pioneer has 4 channels and the Rane only two." - comparison. "The Pioneer has MORE features and probably works with more applications." - comparison. But your entire statement and comment was comparing both controllers, was it not? Honestly IDGAF I'm just making videos for people who want to know if they wanted to compare two channels they might want to purchase. You don't like it? COOL. GTFOFF MY CHANNEL MY GUY LOL
@@djTorchLive I have to disagree with you on this one. When your making a major purchase like this everything needs to be compared especially when the prices are similar. People need to know the features included both products in order to determine if X amount of dollars is worth paying extra or less to gain or lose certain features. I prefer moving jog wheels and videos like these help determine if they are worth the extra money or not.
@@darienms38 I respect your argument but there are some "cut and dry" reason why these two are still apples and oranges, which are the platters. If you're fine with conventional jog wheels the Pioneer is a better value. If you gotta have platters then it's the Rane.
Doing such a in depth comparison information should be accurate the Jogs are adjustable can’t believe you clearly missed that, the SRT microphone is terrible not true at all many would definitely agree and it’s not the same sound card either good video being bias or one sided not cool it all your opinion you trashing specifics not cool at all.
I've probably used a SRT-1000 about 4-5 times at a club with other Djs equipment, to be completely honest I never use any effects because I just know how to DJ without them, I'm not saying one is better than the other it's just what I prefer. The Pioneer controllers mic sounds terrible in real time use at a club, wedding anything where I need to be able to project clearly. I feel you on my opinion being one sided though, sorry about that. With that being said if you want the discode code for either or any controller, just let me know my G. all good.
POWER CORD MEAN SHIT !!! THE CONTROLLERS WILL TRAVEL IN CASES....HOW THE FUCK ARE YOU GOING TO FORGET A POWER CORD??? IS LIKE CARRYING A LUNCH BOX TO WORK AND FORGETTING YOUR FOOD INSIDE THE LUNCH BOX ??????? COMON !!!
I like whatever I gotta dj on, I don’t really use “effects” like that, I’m not gonna run down each sound of an effect I just ain’t got that time. 😂 but yeah you right Rane one I like better cuz that shit remind me of a turntable, but srt got a better fader to cut on but who the fuck wanna hear my scratching at a wedding lmaooooo
The DDJ1000 is trash compared to the. SZ... Rane One is a higher class controller over the 1000. Yeah the 1000 has a lot of features but what REAL dj is going to use all that. I can honestly say after 6 years on my SZ, I was in no rush to downgrade to a 1000. The power adapter is proprietary, and the internal components don't stack up to SZ at all. Features just means easier, Rane took 2 turntables and a mixer and made a all in one quality controller, the 1000 is half what the SZ is and a beefed up version of the SB3. My suggestion to anyone looking at pioneer controllers is get a DDJ 800 if you're looking to save some money. Or get a SZ/SZ2 if you're looking at a DDJ 1000. Btw, the rekordbox version of the 1000 is better. However, the SZ is compatible with Virtual Dj, Serato, and Rekordbox. 😂 So many used SRTs at my local guitar center.
You can't compare these two against each other They're completely different Jog wheels Motorized tables Rane is wack anyways A basic controller No effects WEAK SAUCE
How can you not compare the two? Their both controllers, both have features for DJING. Both have the mixers built in between the “decks” THEY ARE BOTH CONTROLLERS, we just comparing the differences, Rane might not be what it was but the RANE 57 is still the greatest mixer of our dj generation. Pioneers good but it just ain’t me.
Boy you really coming for me in ya comments 😂 idgaf what I’m on I’ll figure out how to dj the best possible way, not really into effects I just don’t give too much about them not like anyone comes up and says “wow man those effects you did tonight, it was amazing” LITERALLY NOBODY,

I can dig it, for me though I forget shit all the time so I will definitely mis place that power supply for the pioneer LOL
EIther way Imma get busy on whatever I got to work with, but I do like the SRT crossfader compared to the rane one
WEIGHT IS AN ISSUE WHEN YOU CARRY YOUR SPEAKERS AND SUBS TO A PARTY, NOT YOUR CONTROLLER.
Shieeeetttt I’m lazy af man
I think the rane has a hard case now
What laptop and size is that you got there??
man idk 15 inch I think, shit massive LOL, you gotta see my font size on serato dj, like 127 LOLOL ya boy is blind! LOLLLLLL
imo there not comparable controllers. the ddj 1000 is for people who are familiar with the pioneer club kit eco system and want the cads jog wheels. the the Rane one is for people who use turntables and want the same feeling in a controller.
okay great, thanks for your comment! Please like and subscribe thanks man.
WEIGHT ????? CONTROLLERS WILL HAVE THEIR OWN CASE, WEGHT DONT MEAN SHIT. IS A CONTROLLER, COMMON !!!!
why you yelling at me man sheesh LOL
"at best" Thanks LOLOLOL, sorry it wasn't the best lmaoooooo ya mans just out here trying, I honestly never use ONE effect on the board LOL
Can I still save $150 on the controller?
Yessir, thank you for subscribing! Just follow on instagram @djparadime and shoot me a DM with ya info mayneeee peace!
Just give us the code!!!! Lol I don’t have instagram I’m looking to buy one
Great review #indimewetrust 🙌🏽
DIME IS THE GOAT
Rane one!!
Word up! Rane one got solid build, pioneer lighter for carrying tho lololol
Honestly I like more pioneer dj 1000 srt
For sure man I love that controller too LOL
The price is to GDH 😂😂people not working. But love the review.
Hahahah man Atlanta and Florida aint shut down the whole time they been spreading Covid like Halloween candy lolool
So what you’re saying in your statement is you just compared the Rane one to the SRT? Got it 😆
@@djparadime You missed the point. But, that's cool not everyone will understand.
@@djTorchLive
"The Rane has motorized platters and the Pioneer doesn't." - Comparison
"The Pioneer has 4 channels and the Rane only two." - comparison.
RANE 1 🤝
the fan is a bummer tho..
Rane build quality is comparable to a Nokia phone
ayooooo LMAOOOO one time my homeboy ran over his nokia phone with his car and it still worked playing the worm game and everything LOL
🙏🏾 #inDimeWeTrust
Equipment and Automobile = SRTs all the way
Doing such a in depth comparison information should be accurate the Jogs are adjustable can’t believe you clearly missed that, the SRT microphone is terrible not true at all many would definitely agree and it’s not the same sound card either good video being bias or one sided not cool it all your opinion you trashing specifics not cool at all.
With that being said if you want the discode code for either or any controller, just let me know my G. all good.
I actually correct myself in the description about the jog wheels after I made the video my bad about it though.
COMON !!!
He sounds like he likes the Rane One lol. DDJ 1000 has more features which he didn't go over. This was a bad review bro.
Lol
You don't like effects
Other people do
You don't have the time LoL
This is your video review guy
Come on now
The DDJ1000 is trash compared to the.
ACTUAL (!!!)
You can't compare these two against each other
They're completely different
Jog wheels
Motorized tables
Rane is wack anyways
A basic controller
No effects
WEAK SAUCE
How can you not compare the two? Their both controllers, both have features for DJING. Both have the mixers built in between the “decks” THEY ARE BOTH CONTROLLERS, we just comparing the differences, Rane might not be what it was but the RANE 57 is still the greatest mixer of our dj generation. Pioneers good but it just ain’t me.
Rane Won
Lag LoL
No one is dragging slowly
Boy you really coming for me in ya comments 😂 idgaf what I’m on I’ll figure out how to dj the best possible way, not really into effects I just don’t give too much about them not like anyone comes up and says “wow man those effects you did tonight, it was amazing” LITERALLY NOBODY,
If you not a scratch dj then the drag is not for you.. us battle djs and scratch djs live for the dragg on these new techs step your game up or keep using that sync button on those static jog wheels lol.
@@jaytonkash No sync here boy... Battle DJ llmmffaaoo
Keep it moving You're boring me already
@Leo J that's cool but let's stick to the mission and have fun. We all gotta start somewhere.
