Practically Famous it's a bit of a nuisance in the summer with the windows open. But the noise only lasts a few seconds. I always know when a freight is coming though
LOL - hedge trimmer and a taller set of steps come to mind... Or a broom handle and tripod mount bolted together ! - Hey don't knock it... at least you can watch trains from your kitchen window..... my camera is gathering dust !!
Was that a Class 745 Stansted Express on test or a Class 379 and a Class 720 on test. Nice. You are well lucky to live close to the West Anglia Main Line.
@@drstrains2574 I do like the Class 379s. If only Greater Anglia were to retain them for other services including use them on the branch lines (including Wickford-Southminster and Manningtree-Harwich Town) as these are 4-Car units and can work on those lines.
EssexLad 8919 It would be good as they are nice units and not very old. However, the routes you mention will be getting all new units and the 379's will be moving on. The last I heard was that they will be going to East Midland Railway.
DRS Trains That would be Class 360s apparently cascaded to EMR. Class 379s might end up being stored or probably cascaded to Gautrain (South Africa) or cascaded to GWR or Great Northern. Whoever wants extra Electrostar units. Plus I think the Class 720 on test run was actually 720509. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/British_Rail_Class_360
I wish I lived by the railway, I can just imagine being in the garden in the summer heat sipping a cold beverage watching the trains go by!
Practically Famous sadly it's not quite as good as that
@@drstrains2574 Can I assume that the noise pollution is somewhat of a pain?

Yup. Best I could do under the circumstances...
Would have been 720 509, that's the test unit doing the trips at the moment.

EssexLad 8919 It was. 379 on the Stansted Express. The test train was a 720/5

EssexLad 8919 Thanks for the number of the train on test. Is that confirmed?
