Those Class 68s don't hang about.
I had no idea pacers came to bradford interchange
Why do some pantographs have two horizontal bars or plates that are on each side of the pan at the upper and lower arm elbow joint.
The class 313 was my favourite train but now all I can look at is memory’s because the class 313 is retired
The Station sometimes minds me of The Railway Children.
Published in 1906.
I have seen watched the 1970 film production on dvd.
Yes love it I was. There five years ago great.
My 19:33 LNER Azuma train KGX to DON(Leeds ultimately) got diverted onto this loop 12/05/2022. 42mins late into Doncaster.
why the 755's sound's like a dc motor train?
Beautiful Loco-Sound..! Happy Memories 😀👍
what size is that board
5’10” x 2’6”. Built to fit under a single bed.
@@drstrains2574 thanks
Still got 317 junk running around
2:29 it weirdly sound like class 465/0
Didn't you know all Trains on the West Anglia mainline have that affect
Great video! I also had fun chasing her yesterday!
Thank you. Where did you see her?
Hi ,Very good....Dave
Thank you
@@drstrains2574 Cheers. (:O)-
Don't seem right going that fast in reverse..... should have flipped the video round and played it backwards :)
Lol. Now why didn’t think of that?
Fantastic video :)
Thank you
Hello there nice video. How do I know when divert day is?
Just check on Real Time Trains to see what is running. On the loop it will be when there are engineering works between Alexandra Palace and Stevenage
@@drstrains2574 Okay
I wonder if the 9Fs can go at full speed backwards as they mostly have a tender cab?
It might just be proving they can run the route? I say this because on the GEML from Ipswich - London the Class 755 is meant to be tested to prove it can run that portion of the route when direct Lowestoft - London services return via the East Suffolk Line, although that's mainly in a pair of 755's. So it might be the case that you could get London - Norwich via Cambridge services and they are just trying to prove that the Class 755 can run south of Cambridge. A stretch for that service but around a year or two ago I read somewhere that could be a possibility of reinstating the old GEML which was London - Norwich via Cambridge, this was before the GEML even ran into Norfolk! That's the theory anyway, great video.
3:27 I don’t know what is making that noise. I’m not talking about the traction motor.
it's the track vibrations
I find it strange to see 2x4 car 379s on the little used (until the development arrives) Meridian Water -Stratford shuttle. I also noted the Stansted branding has been removed from 379s. A few weeks ago I saw a 37 dragging a 345 set Northwards (could have been a 720 I wasn't paying attention to its length from driving alongside). When the 720s arrive I wonder if they will normally run 5 car or 2x5 car on Hertford East services-even the 8 car gets packed at peak evenings but during the day the seem quite empty
Having 8 cars on the Meridian Water to Stansted is only temporary I would guess to allow plenty of space. Pre COVID it was a 4 car 317. I would say it will be 5 car 720 in the future. Until the Meridian Water development is up and running at least. If it was a 345 being dragged you would have noticed that it was painted purple, I am sure. I am equally sure that the Hertford East trains will be 10 cars, especially in the peek.
@@drstrains2574 I've seen 4 and 8 car 317s and 8 car 379s on Meridian Water -Stratford, pre covid I saw mostly 8 car 317s, similarly 4 and 8 car sets of 317s and 379s are working the Hertford East branch inc very very packed 4 cars at peak times. I'm not sure if Rye House can accommodate any more than 8 car? Pretty certain it was a 345 set being dragged by the 37- a few weeks later the 37 (or one with the same livery at least) was at the GA stabling point at Lea Bridge
I hate the ugly outside window refurbrishment on the Central Line. Although they did that for good reasons (because of water leaking through) , the trains now look uglier
I can't say I have ever thought that any underground trains were exactly beautiful
Why are the 755s coming on waml? They are getting 720s
I have no idea why the 755 was running up and down the WAML
Brilliant video :)
Thank you
Looks like the future of the Class 317s does look bleak and are mostly to be sent for scrap. I will be devastated when the Class 317s are to be scrapped. Same with the Class 321s. I hope that the Class 379 Electrostars could be cascaded elsewhere (ie-Great Northern or Great Western Railway). en.wikipedia.org/wiki/British_Rail_Class_379
As the 379's are only 11 years old it would be close to a crime for them not to be used elsewhere. As with all trains it may be the accessibility issue that may stop that happening.
@@drstrains2574 Perhaps to be stored and maybe converted into BEMU (Battery-Electric multiple unit). I'm sure that other train operators might be willing to inherit the Class 379s (except Gatwick Express, Southern and Southeastern because of the Class 379s can't operate on DC 750v 3rd Rail).
@@drstrains2574 probably going to thameslink
iTraveller interesting thought. To run where?
But will the Class 379s could have DC shoebox conductors so it can run on DC 750v 3rd Rail. Highly unlikely as they were built as AC 25kv OHL. But they could operate on London St. Pancras (high level)-Bedford stopping service (including stopping at Kentish Town, West Hampstead Thameslink, Cricklewood, Hendon, Mill Hill Broadway, Elstree & Borehamwood, Radlett, St. Albans City, Harpenden, Luton Airport Parkway, Luton, Leagrave, Harlington and Flitwick). With East Midlands Railway who have inherited the Class 360/1s from Greater Anglia to operate to Corby and Kettering which will stop at Luton Airport Parkway, Luton, Bedford and Wellingborough.
Attractive looking trains compared to the 700's / 717s
I agree they are better looking than the Desiro City units
And the 720/745 are _much_ more comfortable than them with their *ROTTEN* "ironing board" seats
755 can be used to liv St via Cambridge if necessary. Thus one might have been testing software or driver training. The 720 was on driver training
Thanks for your answers. I know the 720 will be the new train to Cambridge but have not heard about the 755 coming through. Of course it is possible that they may have to at some point, but not as a regular service. Unless they will be doing the Bishops Stortford to Stratford serivice.
Wow a 720 on test! Can't wait to see them on the Hertford East branch!
Hopefully it won't be too long before they are in full service
@@drstrains2574 Yeah but will miss the 317s
Key_Aydin True, but they are now very old. New trains are needed. Do you know what is happening to the 379's?
@@drstrains2574 I'm not 100% sure but at the moment it looks like the 379s are replacing the 317. After that they may be turned into more battery powered 379s or get scrapped
Key_Aydin surely they won't be scrapped? They have only been in service ten years
Good Catch - Can't wait to get back out - missed so many events of late
To be fair, there haven't been that many events. All rail tours have been cancelled.
@@drstrains2574 True, but a lot of engineering trains passing through due to the works at Kings Cross

Crossrail for the win
Can't lie, Ingatestone tends to be busier when there is rail replacement
Great video!
Great video your lucky to have seen the four header
Surely there were four 86s because the other two broke down maybe
GATRAINSPOTTING05 As per a previous comment there is one work ing to Felixstowe, but two in the opposite direction later in the day. They send four locos to save a light engine working
Awesome video. The four Class 86's were the main highlight. :)
Had the other two 86's failed then ?
4 86s has become fairly regular on mondays due to there being one booked working towards for Felixstowe booked for them but two back from Felixstowe. Done simply to save running a pair light engine.
Keirhann Callan Thanks. I was wondering myself.
@@keirhanncallan9045 That makes sense, one less movement for a light engine
Where was this going
I have no idea. It was years ago....
Could Great Northern allow to use the Class 387 & Class 365 on the Hertford Loop Line as a stopping service between London Kings Cross-Hertford North, Watton-at-Stone, Stevenage and Gordon Hull.
They already have the 717's for that - they mainly go into Moorgate however. The platforms at most of the stations can only take 6 carriages. So the others could only be 4 car trains so I don't think that would work.
@@drstrains2574 that is true, however a semi fast along this line may prevent passengers from having to always change trains. So I guess It wouldnt be such a bad idea to allowed Express units to come through. No?
@@bb-3653 late reply, I know Great northern run a service at around 1:50 am between London kings cross and royston, which passes and stops at some of the stations on the Hertford loop
@@ArunTrc ahh, I see. Apparently there are plans to use them for 10pmph running.
